Introduction: HIV and AIDS are known to have become an emergency problem around the world, where infection transmission, morbidity rates, and mortality rates are still high. The existence of the HIV/AIDS epidemic is one of the scary scourges among the community because of its unexpected transmission by HIV due to human behaviour. Objective: This study aims to analyze social determinants with quality of life in people with HIV/AIDS in the Voluntary Counseling and Testing Clinic. Methods: This study is an analytical study using a cross-sectional study research design. The population in this study is all HIV/AIDS patients domiciled in Kendari City. The number of samples was 177 respondents which was determined by simple random sampling. Data analysis uses the chi-square test and the multiple logistics test. Result: The results of the study showed that there was a stigma relationship with Odhiv's quality of life at the VCT Clinic of Kendari City Hospital (p = 0.000) and there was a relationship between social support and Odhiv's quality of life at the VCT Clinic of Kendari City Hospital (p = 0.000). The variable that has the greatest influence on the quality of life of ODHIV is the social support variable with an OR of 0.353. Conclusion: The variable that has the greatest influence on the quality of life of People with HIV/AIDS (ODHIV) is social support. Social support has proven to be a very significant factor in improving the quality of life of people living with HIV. Individuals with strong social support, whether from family, friends, or the community, tend to have a better quality of life than those who receive less social support. Abstract

Introduction: HIV/AIDS remains a significant public health problem in the world, including in Indonesia. The disease is spread through various pathways, but one of the groups most vulnerable to infection is Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM). This study aims to analyze the influence of sexual behavior on the incidence of HIV/AIDS in the Men Having Sex with Men (MSM) group. Research Methodology: This type of research is quantitative research with a case-control research design. The population in this study consisted of cases and a control population. The population of cases in this study were all groups of Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) who had undergone an HIV test with positive (+) HIV test results and had taken ARV treatment at the Kendari City Regional Hospital for the last 6 (six) months and were domiciled as many as 349 people. Result: The results of the study showed that there was an influence of condom use (OR = 7.154), number of sexual partners (OR = 21,000), anal sex (OR = 7.042), and oral sex (OR = 3.367) on the incidence of HIV/AIDS in the Men Sex Men group. Conclusion: The conclusion is that the sexual behavior of using condoms, number of sexual partners, anal sex, and oral sex are risk factors for the occurrence of HIV/AIDS in the group of men having sex with men. Therefore, individuals in this group need to receive education about the risks, as well as effective prevention methods, such as consistent condom use, routine HIV testing, and open communication with sexual partners.

Abstract

Health promotion campaigns are an important strategy for increasing public awareness, knowledge, and behavioral change toward a healthy lifestyle. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion campaigns in increasing knowledge and changing healthy behaviors among the public. A quantitative method was used with a pretest-posttest design without a control group. A total of 150 respondents from three sub-districts were selected purposively. The results showed a significant increase in health knowledge (p<0.05) and behavioral changes such as handwashing, regular exercise, and nutritious food consumption. These findings indicate that health promotion campaigns are effective as a public education tool. It is recommended that campaigns be conducted sustainably and involve various media and local cultural approaches.

Abstract

The occurrence of maternal deaths is related to direct causal factors and indirect causes. The direct causes of maternal death in Indonesia are still dominated by factors. by bleeding, eclampsia, and infection, while the indirect factors causing maternal death are because there are still many cases, 3 too late and 4 too late, which are related to access, socio-cultural, educational and economic factors. This research uses a combination method with a sequential explanatory design. The first uses quantitative methods, and the second uses qualitative methods. A quantitative approach is used to identify and explain variables that influence behavior such as knowledge, attitudes, facilities and encouragement of officers. A qualitative approach is used to support and complement quantitative research results. The chi-square test shows that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, facilities and encouragement of health workers on the behavior of pregnant women in pregnancy checks. P value = 0.001. If the significance value is <0.05, it is recognized that there is a statistically significant correlation. Meanwhile, attitudes show no statistical correlation. The logistic regression test shows that there is an influence between knowledge and facilities on the behavior of pregnant women. There are two substantial findings, namely regarding knowledge about antenatal care and the availability of facilities which influence the behavior of pregnant women in antenatal care.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease that is closely related to diet therapy. Diet Therapy is a description of the types, amount and composition of food a person eats every day. An urban lifestyle with a diet pattern that is excessively high in fat, salt and sugar results in various diseases including diabetes mellitus. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of diet therapy and physical activity on blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients. This research is a quantitative research using an observational approach with a cross sectional design, namely research by studying the correlation between risk factors and the effects they cause by approaching, observing or collecting data at one time. The results of the statistical analysis test show the chi-square test X2 = 4.022 or at a confidence level (α = 0.05) P-value 0.045. So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between physical activity variables and blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients. The Odd Ratio (OR) value = 3.3 (95% CI 0.090 – 1.002) meaning that less physical activity has a risk of developing Type II DM that is 3.3 times greater than those with less diet therapy.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a serious problem that threatens the health, safety, and future of young people in Indonesia. Sidenreng Rappang Regency is an area vulnerable to drug distribution and abuse, particularly among adolescents and the productive population. This study aims to identify strategies for preventing and addressing drug abuse through a community approach. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of government officials, community leaders, health workers, law enforcement officers, and community groups. The results indicate that community-based strategies include: drug education and counseling, strengthening the role of families, cross-sector collaboration (government, the National Narcotics Agency, police, schools, and community organizations), and the formation of drug-aware communities. In conclusion, drug prevention efforts through a community approach are effective in raising awareness, strengthening family resilience, and creating a conducive, drug-free environment. The research recommendations include expanding the scope of educational programs, optimizing the role of local communities, and integrating drug prevention policies with regional development programs.
