Abstract

Correspondence administration is an essential component in the governance of educational institutions. However, the manual processes still employed by most schools, including MIS Darul Ihsaniah Rokan Hulu, often lead to various obstacles such as delays in archiving, recording errors, and difficulties in data retrieval. To address these challenges, innovation through the digital automation of correspondence management is required. This community service program aimed to provide assistance in implementing digital correspondence automation at MIS Darul Ihsaniah. The activity was carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, consisting of several stages: preparation, training and workshops, implementation and technical assistance, and evaluation. The mentoring activities resulted in a significant improvement in participants’ ability to manage correspondence digitally. The head of the madrasah, administrative staff, and teachers were able to understand the basic concepts of digital correspondence management and apply the use of official email as a medium for communication and official letter delivery. Participants also became proficient in managing documents using Google Drive with a structured folder system and clear access rights. Moreover, they were capable of creating standardized digital letter templates and implementing an automatic letter numbering system through spreadsheets to ensure proper archiving. The tangible impacts of this activity include increased efficiency in the archiving and distribution processes, enhanced administrative professionalism, and the development of a work culture that is more adaptive to information technology within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Effective communication is widely recognized as a core driver of educational leadership, yet its direct impact on staff performance remains underexplored in vocational school settings. This study seeks to provide compelling empirical evidence on how principal communication effectiveness contributes to measurable improvements in educational staff performance at a Pharmacy Vocational High School in Indonesia. Using a quantitative design, simple linear regression was applied to data collected from all 73 educational staff through a total sampling approach. The analysis examined the predictive power of principal communication effectiveness on staff performance outcomes. The results reveal a strong, statistically significant effect, with principal communication accounting for 71.4% of the variance in staff performance (R² = 0.714). A robust positive correlation was also observed (r = 0.845, p = 0.005), indicating that staff performance tends to increase substantially when leadership communication improves. The findings underscore the strategic importance of communication-centered leadership in strengthening school performance. By showing that a single leadership variable decisively contributes to staff effectiveness, this study highlights the need for educational institutions—especially vocational schools—to invest in sustained capacity-building in communication for school leaders. Future research is encouraged to explore complementary leadership factors that can further optimize performance outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of financial management at the Tahfizul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Sungai Pinang. The methods used are direct observation and literature study. Observations are conducted to understand real financial management practices, while literature studies are used to support theoretical analysis. The stages of data collection are carried out through field visits, interviews with Islamic boarding school administrators, and documentation of financial reports and applicable internal regulations. The data collected are then analyzed qualitatively with a descriptive approach, namely comparing financial management theory with existing practices in Islamic boarding schools. The analysis focuses on the planning system, funding sources, budget allocation, accounting, reporting, supervision, and risk management. The results of the study indicate that financial management at the Tahfizul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Sungai Pinang has been managed systematically through three main functions, namely fundraising, fund allocation, and asset management, with various diversified funding sources, including SPP, BOS funds, ZIS, alumni donations, and independent business results. The financial management system implemented includes planning, accounting, reporting, supervision, and risk management in a transparent, accountable manner, and in accordance with sharia principles, thus supporting operational continuity, improving the quality of education, and the social responsibility of the Islamic boarding school towards underprivileged students.

Abstract

Perubahan paradigma pembelajaran menuntut guru memberikan pengalaman belajar siswa melalui integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran matematika. Teknologi seharusnya tidak sekedar sebagai media presentasi, tapi mampu mendukung konstruksi pengetahuan siswa, termasuk untuk konten matematika yang abstrak. Namun, kompetensi guru yang beragam dalam pemanfataan teknologi dan berbagai kendala lainnya mengakibatkan guru belum optimal dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi di kelas matematika. Kegitan ini berupaya menguatkan kompetensi guru dalam integrasi teknologi dengan lebih optimal melalui GeoGebra Classroom yang dan simulasi ready-to-use melalui PhET. Kegiatan berupa pelatihan kepada guru matematika SMA/SMK/MA se-Kabupaten Purwodadi dilaksanakan secara luring melalui participant active learning. Dari hasil evaluasi, guru merasa lebih percaya diri dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi, serta memiliki ide dan pengetahuan baru dalam pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembe;ajaran matematika. Guru juga merasakan manfaat pelatihan, diantaranya peningkatan pengetahuan dan wawasan profesional guru, serta dukungan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran.

Abstract

The digitalization of educational services encourages schools to implement web-based New Student Admission Systems to improve service quality and customer satisfaction. This study aimed to examine the effect of the web-based PSB Online admission system on customer satisfaction at MA Jabal Nur Kandis and to identify implementation challenges. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 31 tenth-grade students as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation and analyzed using percentage analysis and simple regression. The results showed that the implementation level of the web-based admission system reached 74.49%, while customer satisfaction reached 93.87%. The correlation test indicated a positive relationship between the web-based admission system and customer satisfaction (r = 0.428 > 0.355 at the 5% significance level), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.7814, meaning that 78.14% of customer satisfaction was influenced by the system. These findings suggest that better implementation of the web-based admission system leads to higher customer satisfaction. However, the study was limited to a small sample size and a single institution; therefore, future research should involve broader samples and additional relevant variables.

Abstract

Previous ethnomathematics studies on Indonesian batik have largely concentrated on widely recognized motifs, resulting in limited scholarly attention to several classical motifs that possess distinctive visual and philosophical characteristics. Batik Slobog Solo is one such motif that remains underexplored from a mathematical perspective. This study aims to investigate and describe the mathematical concepts embedded within the Batik Slobog Solo motif as a foundation for developing culturally contextualized mathematics learning. The research adopts a qualitative design employing an ethnographic approach, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation at the Danar Hadi Batik Museum in Surakarta. The exploration process follows four guiding questions: “Where do I start looking?”, “How do I find it?”, “How do I know that I have found something significant?”, and “How to understand it?”. The findings indicate that Batik Slobog Solo embodies various mathematical concepts, including plane geometry and transformational geometry, arithmetic patterns represented through square numbers and arithmetic sequences, as well as discrete mathematics concepts involving tiling and graph theory. These concepts are reflected in the repetition, regularity, spatial relationships, and systematic arrangement of motif elements. The results demonstrate that Batik Slobog Solo has substantial potential as a culturally grounded instructional resource that supports meaningful mathematics learning. This study contributes to ethnomathematics literature by expanding the scope of mathematical analysis on less-explored batik motifs and emphasizes the importance of integrating local cultural heritage into mathematics education to enhance conceptual understanding while promoting cultural preservation.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed at knowing 1) the planning of public relations management in maintaining the school image, 2) organizing of public relations management in maintaining the school image, 3) the implementation of public relations management in maintaining the school image, and 4) the supervision of public relations management in maintaining the school image at State Senior High School 8 Mandau, Bengkalis Regency. It was a qualitative research with descriptive method. The subjects of this research were the school principal, the vice of public relations, school committee, and 2 students. The object of this research was the public relations management in maintaining school image at State Senior High School 8 Mandau. Interview, observation, and documentation techniques were used for collecting the data. Collecting, filtering, presenting, and drawing conclusions techniques were used for analyzing the data. The findings of this research showed that 1) the planning of public relations management was conducted well: the planning was conducted by the beginning of the school year and grouped based on the timeframe that has been made. 2) The organization of public relations management was conducted well: selection according to ability and divided into 3: external, internal and publication relations. 3) The implementation of public relations management was conducted quite well, by implementation of timely work programs and collaboration between school residents and parties outside the school, and publishing activities on social media, but the process of uploading activities to social media was a little late. 4) The supervision of public relations management was conducted properly: incidentally and periodically once a month that could see the implementation of each section of public relations in maximizing activities at school. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tahapan pengumpulan data, penyaringan data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Perencanaan manajemen humas di SMAN 8 Mandau sudah dilakukan dengan baik, yaitu perencanaan dilakukan pada awal tahun ajaran dan dikelompokkan berdasarkan jangka waktu yang telah dibuat. 2) Pengorganisasian manajemen humas di SMAN 8 Mandau sudah dilakukan dengan baik, yaitu dilakukan pemilihan sesuai dengan kemampuan dan dibagi menjadi 3 ada hubungan eksternal, internal dan publikasi. 3) Pelaksanaan manajemen humas di SMAN 8 Mandau sudah dilakukan dengan cukup baik dengan terlaksananya program kerja yang sesuai dengan waktu dan terlaksananya kerjasama dengan warga sekolah dan pihak luar sekolah serta mempublikasikan kegiatan di media sosial, namun proses penguplodan kegiatan ke media sosial sedikit terlambat. 4) Pengawasan manajemen humas di SMAN 8 Mandau sudah dilaksanakan dengan baik, yaitu secara insidentil dan berkala dalam satu kali dalam sebulan sehingga dapat melihat pelaksanaan setiap bagian humas dalam memaksimalkan kegiatan di sekolah.
