Abstract

A well-designed evaluation process can increase student motivation and strengthen understanding of the material taught, thus achieving more optimal learning outcomes. The researcher intends to analyze the effect of course review horay type cooperative learning model in improving students' Arabic learning outcomes. This study used a quantitative approach, specifically an experiment with a pre-experiment design. The study involved 16 students in class IVB SDIT Subulussalam who were assessed using observation sheets and written tests. The results showed that students were very active and engaged during the learning process, with a success rate of 61% - 100% in terms of activeness. Hypothesis testing confirmed that the independent variable (cooperative learning model) significantly influenced the dependent variable (students' Arabic learning outcomes). This supports the initial hypothesis and shows that cooperative learning models positively impact student engagement and enthusiasm. These findings have important implications for educational practice, as these models can contribute to more effective learning experiences and outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan pendekatan komunikatif dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab dan dampaknya terhadap kemampuan maharah al-kalam siswa kelas 7 Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Melalui desain eksperimen dengan dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan komunikatif dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan metode tradisional, penelitian ini melibatkan 16 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan komunikatif secara signifikan meningkatkan skor rata-rata maharah al-kalam siswa, dengan peningkatan yang mencolok antara pre-test dan post-test. Temuan ini juga mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti minat siswa yang rendah, penggunaan metode yang interaktif dan menyenangkan dapat meningkatkan partisipasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya pengembangan metode pengajaran yang berfokus pada praktik berbahasa, guna menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa dalam bahasa Arab. Dengan demikian, pendekatan komunikatif diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di tingkat Madrasah Tsanawiyah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the dynamics of Arabic language development in the early Islamic period (7th to 8th centuries AD). In contrast to its status in the Jahiliyyah era as a tribal spoken language, Arabic transformed into a language of administration, science, and most importantly, a sacred language, along with the expansion of the Caliphate. The main focus of this study is the central role of the Qur'an as a linguistic catalyst, which not only established the Quraysh dialect as Al-Lughah al-Fushah (Classical Standard Arabic) but also encouraged efforts for comprehensive linguistic codification. The method used is historical-linguistic, which involves a chronological review of key events and linguistic analysis of primary texts (the Qur'an) and secondary sources (early grammatical works). The findings indicate that increased linguistic contact after the conquest led to the emergence of the phenomenon of lahn (grammatical errors), which motivated scholars such as Abu al-Aswad al-Du'ali and Sibawayhi to establish grammatical rules (Nahw and Sarf). This process of codification succeeded in creating a strict and stable linguistic standard, known as Classical Arabic.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Show and Tell method in improving the Maharah Kalam skills of grade X students of MAN 2 Bandar Lampung. Using Classroom Action Research (PTK) and a mixed method approach (70% quantitative, 30% qualitative), this study collected quantitative data through oral tests of Maharah Kalam at the pre-action stage until cycle 2 to measure the numerical improvement of students' speaking ability. Qualitative data, obtained through observation and descriptive questionnaires, was used to understand more deeply the perceptions and reasons behind students' interest in learning. The results showed significant improvement in Maharah Kalam proficiency, as evidenced by the increase in the average score of the oral test from pre-action to cycle 2. The qualitative data provided context that reinforced these quantitative findings, explaining how Show and Tell impacted on students' motivation, confidence and interaction in learning Maharah Kalam. This study concludes that Show and Tell is an effective learning alternative to improve students' Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the nahwu learning process through the use of the Matan al-Jurumiyah book among second-grade ibtida’ students, who are beginners in nahwu studies. The research was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Rahmatul Ummah As-Salafiyyah An-Nahdhiyyah, Fajar Baru, South Lampung, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that Matan al-Jurumiyah effectively supports students’ understanding of basic nahwu concepts due to its concise, systematic, and easily memorized content. The effectiveness of learning is also influenced by the teacher’s ability to combine classical and modern teaching approaches. The teacher applies an inductive (istiqra’iyyah) method and various learning strategies, including mudzakarah, mentarkib (sentence structure analysis), hifẓ al-mutun, and question-and-answer sessions to facilitate memorization and comprehension. In addition, educational games (game-based learning) are integrated to increase students’ learning motivation, create a more engaging classroom atmosphere, and reduce anxiety toward nahwu, which is often considered difficult. However, some students still face challenges, particularly in memorizing and understanding certain materials such as the chapter on ‘Alamat al-I‘rab, due to similar and confusing sentence structures. Overall, this study highlights the essential role of the teacher as a facilitator who promotes collaboration, creativity, and adaptability to students’ abilities, resulting in a more effective and conducive learning process for basic nahwu instruction.
