Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among teachers plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of school organizations; however, the level of OCB is still found to be suboptimal. Internal factors such as self-efficacy and emotional intelligence are presumed to contribute to the promotion of such behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationships among self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and OCB, as well as to examine the mediating role of emotional intelligence. This research employs a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The population consisted of 312 teachers registered in the Basic Education Data (Dapodik) for the 2024/2025 academic year, and all teachers were included as the research sample using a total sampling technique. The research instruments include scales measuring self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and OCB. The results indicate that self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on OCB, both directly and indirectly through emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is proven to partially mediate this relationship. These findings suggest that improving teachers’ OCB can be achieved through strengthening self-efficacy and developing emotional intelligence. This study contributes to clarifying the psychological mechanisms underlying OCB formation and serves as a basis for developing programs aimed at enhancing teacher quality.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of transformational leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), with organizational commitment serving as a mediating variable. The study was conducted among employees at PKS Tanjung Seumantoh. The research utilized a quantitative explanatory approach, involving a population of 137 employees selected through a total sampling technique. Primary data were gathered via Likert-scale questionnaires and subsequently analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) facilitated by AMOS 23 software. The empirical findings demonstrate that transformational leadership exerts a positive and significant direct effect on OCB, evidenced by a regression coefficient of 0.930 (p < 0.001). Furthermore, transformational leadership significantly influences organizational commitment with a coefficient of 0.852 (p < 0.001). The mediation analysis confirms that organizational commitment functions as a significant intervening variable in the relationship between transformational leadership and OCB. These results suggest that the effective implementation of transformational leadership styles fosters higher organizational commitment, which in turn enhances employees' tendencies to engage in extra-role behaviors. This study provides practical implications for management in optimizing organizational performance through leadership development and employee engagement strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of resilience as a mediating variable in the relationship between transformational leadership and work engagement among banking employees in Indonesia. This research is motivated by high work demands, service pressures, and rapid organizational changes in the banking sector, so that organizational and psychological factors are needed to maintain employee work engagement. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving employees from one of the national private banks in North Sumatra. Data were collected using standardized psychological instruments to measure transformational leadership, resilience, and work engagement, then analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The results show that transformational leadership has a positive effect on work engagement and self-resilience, while self-resilience also has a positive effect on work engagement. In addition, resilience has been shown to mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and work engagement. These findings indicate that supportive and inspirational leadership plays an important role in increasing employee work engagement, both directly and through strengthening individual adaptive capacity.
