Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-adjustment and religiosity in the new students of Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School. The hypothesis proposed that there is a positive relationship between adjustment and religiosity in new students. The population is new students at the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School which opened 73 people with total sampling technique. The data collection method used two scales, namely the adjustment scale and religious scale. The data analysis method used in this research is the product moment correlation technique from Karl Pearson. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-adjustment and religiosity seen from the coefficient value (Rxy) = 0.483 with p = 0.000 0.050. The value of the effective contribution given is 23.4%. This means that the higher the religiosity of the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School students, the higher their adjustment. On the other hand, increasing the low religiosity of the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School students makes their adjustment lower. So it can be said that there is a significant relationship between adjusting to religiosity in the new students of the Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School. The empirical average value of self-adjustment = 119.67 while the hypothetical average value = 92.5 so that the self-adjustment variable is high, as well as the empirical mean value of religiosity = 120.32 while the hypothetical average value is = 95 so that the religiosity variable is high. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-adjustment and religiosity in the new students of Darul Hikmah Kisaran Islamic Boarding School. Abstract

This study examines the role of transformational leadership on employee work engagement, seen with gender as a moderator variable. This study engaged 190 Muslim employees as a total sample and used quantitative methods with an explanatory approach with two adaptation scales, the Transformational Leadership Scale by Bas & Avolio (1995) and the Work Engagement Scale by Schaufeli, Bakker, and Salanova (2006). The data analysis technique used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed the role of transformational leadership in employee work engagement. However, there is no role of gender as a moderator in the influence of transformational leadership on work engagement. The findings of this study contribute to the literature on transformational leadership by explaining how leadership that motivates and inspires can help employees be more engaged in their work.

Abstract

Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is one of the occupations in the service sector. ATC, like other jobs, has other social tasks outside of work that require the ability to balance work and family or personal and social responsibilities (i.e., work-life balance). This research aims to test the role of emotional regulation in mediating the relationship between mindfulness and work-life balance among ATC officers. This research was conducted quantitatively. The data was collected through the work-life balance, emotion regulation, and mindfulness scales and was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) operated through the JASP program version 16. 172 employees (59% males) involved in this research. Results showed that emotional regulation significantly mediates the relationship between mindfulness and work-life balance. This indicates that ATC officers with a mindful condition will consciously be able to direct their attention to focus on the current situation and role. This will affect ATC's ability to manage cognitively to provide emotional responses and express emotions according to the needs of the current situation in completing the role at hand and achieving work-life balance. This finding has implications on how management might assist ATC officers in improving work-life balance by enhancing emotional regulation skills and mindfulness.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how parents treat their children significantly contributes to the child’s personality. This quantitative descriptive research had a population of 5,378 students of SMP Islam Education in Medan. The research sample was 818 students. The results found that the personality dimensions of neuroticism reflected stressful, irritable, unrealistic, anxious, and restless behaviors. Authoritarian parenting style harmed neuroticism personality. In addition, a regression coefficient of 0.10 (p = 0.05) was found for openness personality. Therefore, authoritarian parenting had a positive effect on open personality. The democratic parenting variable had a regression coefficient of 0.87 (p0.001), 0.82 (p0.001), 0.57 (p0.001), and 0.56 (p0.001) for personality openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness. Parents are influential in developing a student’s personality because it affect emotional maturity, desire for achievement, social skills, and personal maturity related to student personality dimensions. Thus, parents must apply authoritarian parenting to discipline children, shaping them to have positive personalities.

Abstract

The current tendency of nomophobia is quite problematic for teenagers, especially students in this study. Nomophobia is certainly influenced by many factors. This study aims to analyze and see the influence of self-esteem and internet addiction with nomophobia. This study is included in quantitative research that is associative causal. The sample of this study was 275 students of SMA N 1 Kuala. The research data were collected using a research scale that was stated to be valid and reliable. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that (1) There is a significant relationship between self-esteem and nomophobia. This can be seen in the model summary table where the correlation r is 0.422 and p = 0.000. The correlation is negative, meaning that if self-esteem is low, nomophobia also increases. The determinant coefficient R² is 0.178, meaning that 17.8% of nomophobia is influenced by self-esteem. Based on the results of this study, it can be stated that the proposed hypothesis 1 is accepted. (2) There is a significant relationship between internet addiction and nomophobia. This can be seen in the model summary table where the correlation r is 0.522 and p = 0.000. The correlation is negative, meaning that if internet addiction increases, nomophobia also increases. The determinant coefficient R² is 0.273, meaning that 27.3% of nomophobia is influenced by internet addiction. Based on the results of this study, it can be stated that the proposed hypothesis 2 is accepted. (3) Together, the variables of self-esteem and internet addiction have a significant relationship with nomophobia. This can be seen from the model summary table where the correlation r is 0.577 and p = 0.000. This means that together, variables X1 and X2 influence variable Y. Based on the results of this study, the three hypotheses proposed in this study are declared accepted. The determinant coefficient R² is 0.333, meaning that 33.3% of nomophobia is influenced by self-esteem and internet addiction. While 66.7% is influenced by other factors that cannot be explained in the regression equation (residual).
