Abstract

Berantas Stunting SEAMEO-REFCON bekerja sama dengan Pemerintah Aceh Timur dan Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh. SEMEO-REFCON telah melaksanakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan Anakku Sehat dan Cerdas bagi Master of Trainers (MoT) di Kabupaten Aceh Timur dengan menggunkan 9 modul Annakku Sehat dan Cerdas secara during yang diikuti oleh pihak Akademisi dan Pemerintah Aceh Timur dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas dari perangkat daerah terkait pengembangan anak usia dini holistik-integratif dalam rangka upaya pencegahan stunting. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemandirian guru PAUD HI dalam mengoptimalkan tumbuh kembang balita untuk pencegahan stunting di Kecamatan Rantau Selamat Kabupaten Aceh Timur Tahun 2024. Metode: kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan yang terdiri dari pembukaan, pretest, penyampaian materi dengan menggunakan 9 modul Annaku Sehat dan Cerdas, postest, penutupan dan dilanjutkan dengan monitoring dan evaluasi. Peserta platihan ini guru PAUD HI dan Kader Kesehatan yang ada di Kecamatan Rantau Selamat Kabupaten Aceh Timur sebanyak 21 orang. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 2 sampai 4 Oktober 2024 di aula UPTD Puskesmas Rantau Selamat. Hasil : Kegiatan ini terlaksana dengan baik sesuai rencana dengan hasil terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dimana hasil pretest sebanyak 21 orang memiliki pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 100% dan hasil postest sebanyak 21 orang (100%) memiliki pengetahuan baik. Peserta juga melakukan microteacing dan parentring kepada orang tua anak usia dini (AUD). Pelatihan ini sangat bermanfaat maka perlu ditingkatkan dan dilaksnakan kembali terutama kepada guru -guru PAUD HI dan Kader Kesehatan yang ada di kecamatan Rantau Selamat Kabupaten Aceh Timur.

Abstract

Banyaknya Pondok Pesantren di Indonesia menjadi tantangan tesendiri bagi pengelola pondok pesantren untuk terus meningkatkan mutu pendidikannya agar dapat menjaga keberlangsungan hidup. Salah satunya adalah meningkatkan jumlah santri dengan tidak hanya mengandalkan dari calon santri dilingkungan terdekat tempat pondok pesantren tersebut. Namun, dapat memperkenalkan ke seluruh masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu cara efektif dalam menjangkau calon santri adalah memanfaatkan pemasaran digital. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam membuat konten digital dengan memaksimalkan media sosial dan website untuk menjangkau calon santri yang lebih luas. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan pendampingan, sehingga kami memastikan bahwa mitra dapat mandiri dalam mengelola pemasaran digital. Pendampingan dilakukan terhadap seluruh karyawan Khadijah Borading School. Peserta dibekali dalam pelatihan fotografi dan videografi, memanfaatkan Facebook ads, memaksimalkan Search Engine Optimization, dan membuat landingpage untuk beriklan. Pada akhirnya kegiatan tersebut dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mitra yang berimplikasi pada peningkatan awareness calon santri dan meningkatkan jumlah pendaftar santri

Abstract

The study aimed to analyse both the prevalence and risk factors for iron deficiency in undernourished children aged 6-23 months in Aceh. A cross-sectional study design was applied on 154 underweight children selected through a cluster sampling. Ferritin serum was analysed using the the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), haemoglobin level using the cyanmethaemoglobin, socio-demographic and food frequency data were collected by interviews. Data on iron intake, dietary diversity and nutrient density were assesed by the repeated 24 hours recall method for three days. The results showed that 27.3% of children suffered from iron deficiency (ID), 50.7% was anaemic and 19.7% suffered from iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). Only 37.7% of children had received exclusive breast milk, 45.5% were given timely introduction of complementary feeding, 33.1% met the minimum meal frequency, 28.6% met dietary diversity, and 23.4% met the criteria for acceptable diet, 33.1% had iron intake from complementary feeding >40% RDA and 24.7% had enough iron density. Age, breastfeeding status and mother’s occupation were significantly associated with the occurrence of ID where children aged 12-23 months were at lower risk than those aged 6-11 months (OR=0.28; 95%CI:0.09-0.83), while children who were not breastfed had 11.33 times higher risk of suffering from ID (OR=11.33; 95%CI:1.38-93.39). Working mothers had 8.29 higher risk of having children with ID (OR=8.29; 95%CI:1.71-40.08). The prevalence of ID in undernourished children was very high, thus it is necessary to improve the quality of breastfeeding and complementary feeding practicess as well as other interventions integrated into reducing malnutrition and iron deficiency to accelerate prevention of malnutrition in children.

Abstract

Pelatihan literasi digital yang dilaksanakan di Desa Tarahan, Kecamatan Katibung, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam berbagai bidang digital, antara lain keterampilan digital, etika digital, budaya digital, dan keamanan digital. Workshop, pendampingan, konsultasi, dan diskusi semuanya berfungsi sebagai bentuk pelatihan. Pelatihan ini memberikan peningkatan dalam bidang keterampilan digital (35%), etika digital (25%), budaya digital (30%), dan keamanan digital (30%). Pertumbuhan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan tingkat lanjut dalam menggunakan teknologi untuk bisnis dan aktivitas sehari-hari. Peserta meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam menggunakan perangkat lunak pendukung bisnis, internet, dan media sosial, serta pemahaman mereka tentang pentingnya perilaku etis dan perlindungan data. Dampak sosial pelatihan ini meliputi peningkatan efisiensi operasional, profesionalisme dalam kontak online, kemampuan terlibat dalam komunitas digital, dan perlindungan ancaman siber terhadap data perusahaan. Untuk memastikan kelangsungan jangka panjang dari peningkatan literasi digital, bantuan berkelanjutan, pendampingan, pembentukan jaringan komunitas digital, memasukkan hasil pelatihan ke dalam peraturan daerah, serta evaluasi dan penyesuaian program secara berkala, semuanya disarankan. Dengan inisiatif-inisiatif ini, literasi digital Desa Tarahan dapat terus meningkat sehingga mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi yang lebih adil dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Background: Stunting in children under five years of age is a chronic nutritional problem that has long-term impacts on the quality of physical growth and cognitive development of children. Aceh has recorded a high prevalence of stunting (SSGBI 2019:34,18%); however, studies that integrate national data to identify actionable local determinants remain limited.Objective: To identify factors associated with stunting among children under five years of age in Aceh and determine the dominant factors that could become the focus of local policy interventions.Methods: This cross-sectional study analyzed secondary data from the 2019 Susenas and SSGBI. The sample was selected as a subset of all households in Aceh Province that were recorded in both surveys and met the inclusion criteria (children aged 0–59 months with complete anthropometric and related variable data), resulting in 1,019 children in 2019. Multistage stratified cluster sampling was conducted by the BPS and Ministry of Health. Stratified data from Aceh Province were used for this analysis. The analysis included descriptive analysis, bivariate tests (chi-square), and multivariate logistic regression to identify determinant factors (Adjusted Odds Ratio [AOR], 95% confidence level).Results: The prevalence of stunting among children under five years of age in Aceh was 27,67% (n=1,019). In the bivariate analysis, factors significantly associated with stunting were Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (EIBF) (p=0,002), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0,043), access to food (p=0,033), access to information media (p=0,001), parental education (p<0,05), birth spacing (p=0,000), and area (urban/rural) (p=0,003). In the multivariate model, the dominant factors increasing the odds of stunting were severe household food insecurity (AOR=1,56), not accessing health information media (AOR=1,51), living in rural areas (AOR=1.40), and not practicing EIBF (AOR=1,40), all of which were significant at p<0,05.Conclusion: Food security is the most dominant factor associated with stunting in Aceh, Indonesia. Recommended interventions include strengthening family- and community-based food security programs (including targeted food assistance and food diversification), improving maternal nutrition education during the first 1,000 days of life with empowerment strategies through accessible information media, and enhancing breastfeeding support and posyandu services in rural areas.

Abstract

School snacks play an important role in children’s health and nutritional status. However, many snacks consumed by school-aged children do not meet food safety and nutritional standards, thereby increasing the risk of health problems. Therefore, appropriate nutrition education media are needed to improve students’ knowledge and attitudes toward healthy snacking. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Nutricase educational media in improving students’ knowledge and attitudes toward healthy snack consumption.This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected using questionnaires, and both quantitative and qualitative data were obtained. The study sample consisted of 22 fourth-grade students selected using a total sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to analyze knowledge and the independent t-test to assess attitudes. The validation results from material, media, and language experts indicated that the Nutricase media was categorized as very good. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge scores (p = 0.003; p < 0.05), while the t-test results also showed a significant improvement in students’ attitudes toward healthy snacking (p = 0.026; p < 0.05). It is expected that Nutricase can serve as an effective nutrition education tool to enhance students’ awareness of healthy snacking practices.

Abstract

Gummy candy is widely consumed but generally low in micronutrients. Fortification with local ingredients rich in iron and vitamin C may improve its nutritional value. This study aimed to determine the effects of substituting moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaf powder solution on the organoleptic characteristics, iron content, and vitamin C levels of calamansi orange gummy candy. This experimental study employed a Completely Randomized Design and was conducted at the Food Laboratory, Department of Nutrition, Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh, with chemical analyses performed at BSPJI Banda Aceh from November to December 2024. Three formulations with 30%, 40%, and 50% moringa leaf powder solution were prepared in triplicates. The organoleptic acceptance (color, taste, aroma, and texture) was evaluated using a hedonic test by 30 semi-trained panelists. Iron content was analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and vitamin C content was determined by titration. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (α = 0.05). The results showed that the substitution significantly affected the iron and vitamin C content (p < 0.001). Iron levels increased significantly with higher substitution levels (0.16 ± 0.01, 0.21 ± 0.00, and 0.26 ± 0.02 mg per 25 g; Duncan a < b < c). Vitamin C levels also differed significantly, with the 30% formulation showing higher values than the 40% and 50% formulations (3.31 ± 0.00 mg vs. 3.10 ± 0.01 mg and 3.03 ± 0.00 mg per 25 g, respectively; Duncan a > b = b). In conclusion, substitution with moringa leaf powder solution improves the micronutrient content of calamansi gummy candy, with the 50% formulation providing the highest iron content.

Abstract

Background: School-age children in Aceh are vulnerable to malnutrition, with 24.1% experiencing stunting and 12.3% exhibiting wasting, primarily due to unbalanced diets, skipping breakfast, and unhealthy snacking habits. Objectives: This study evaluates the impact of a School-Based Nutrition Program on nutritional status, anaemia, nutrition knowledge, and Clean and Healthy Behaviour (CHB) among elementary students in Pidie District, Aceh. Methods: A quasi-experimental pre–post study was conducted among 290 elementary students as part of the School-Based Nutrition Program, which included thrice-weekly meal provision, nutrition education, and CHB promotion. Nutritional status (BMI-for-age, height-for-age), anemia (hemoglobin levels), nutrition knowledge, and CHB practices (interviews) were assessed. Data were analyzed using chi-square and t-tests at a 95% confidence level. Results: Anemia prevalence decreased by 4.4%, stunting by 2.0%, and overweight by 4.9%. The height-for-age z-score slightly improved from -1.84±0.93 to -1.78±0.91. Students also showed better nutrition knowledge and CHB practices. While the program had no significant impact on reducing anemia, stunting, and BMI-for-age (p-value=0.120; p-value=0.887; p-value=0.148), it significantly improved nutrition knowledge and CHB behavior (p-value=0.015; and p-value=0.012). Conclusions: The School Based Nutrition Program effectively improved nutrition knowledge and Clean and Healthy Living Behaviour (CHLB). However, the short-term implementation did not yet lead to measurable improvements in nutritional and anemia status. To enhance future program outcomes, structured monitoring is crucial to ensure food adequacy, food safety, and the effective integration of nutrition education.
