Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) has become an innovative technology in the healthcare sector. In the medical context, AR offers significant potential, such as supporting medical training, enhancing anatomical visualization, and improving understanding of patient conditions. Cardiac anatomy training and education in the medical world still rely heavily on conventional methods including 2D diagrams, physical models, or desktop-based computer simulations, which are less interactive, inflexible, and less realistic. This research aims to develop a markerless AR application for the visualization of 3D models of the human heart to improve understanding of the heart structure in the context of heart disease treatment. The process starts with the design of a 3D model using Blender, which is then imported into Unity to be integrated with the AR Foundation, allowing the placement of the model in the real world without markers. This AR application was tested on an Android Smartphone device. The test results showed successful visualization of the heart model accurately over the human chest (physical reality). This application makes a significant contribution in medical education by offering an interactive and realistic solution. This research opens up opportunities for the application of AR in health education and medical training. Further development could include interactive features simulating the circulatory system as a whole.

Abstract

Objective: Vocational education plays a strategic role in preparing competent workers aligned with industrial needs, yet the implementation of the Skills Competency Test (UKK) still faces issues such as gaps between taught competencies and industry demands, mismatches between education and the labor market, and the lack of UKK standardization. This study aims to analyze vocational school policies in designing UKK schemes to enhance the relevance of vocational education to labor market needs, focusing on the effectiveness of these policies in preparing students to face workplace challenges. Method: The research method is carried out through case studies with the stages of formulating research focus, data collection, data processing and analysis, triangulation of findings, and drawing conclusions as a basis for recommendations for improving the vocational education system. Results indicate UKK scheme selection relies on internal and external factors, particularly industry synchronization. The industrial scheme is more technologically adaptive and cost-efficient than LSP. However, trade-offs include limited facilities and the short three-year LSP certificate validity relative to industry demands. Periodic evaluation of materials and tools is essential to address gaps, enhance quality, and prepare graduates for global competition. Novelty: Going beyond procedural compliance, this study offers new insights into UKK standardization by analyzing strategic scheme selection. This study integrates policy analysis with implementation results to redefine UKK as a mechanism for operationalizing national standards and enhancing graduates' global competitiveness.

Abstract

Over five years, the implementation of the library information system at IKIP Muhammadiyah Maumere faced a challenge, frequent errors during data input that hindered users from fully utilizing the system. These issues not only affected users’ interest but also highlighted the significance of the human factor in shaping the quality of an information system. To make full use of the system, it was crucial to identify and address the problems associated with it. This research delved into the experiences of 242 library information system users, including lecturers, students, and librarians, by using the PIECES method. The goal was to analyze users’ satisfaction and uncover any underlying issues within the system. The results of the PIECES analysis revealed average satisfaction scores, showcasing users' contentment with the system's performance (3.77), information (3.79), economy (3.80), control (3.77), efficiency (3.77), and service (3.89). These findings suggest that the library information system has been meeting users' expectations. However, a significant problem emerged in the performance variable, particularly in the system stability. Additionally, issues related to data compatibility, duplication in storage, and users’ authority management, access control, and system errors were observed in the information and control variables. Based on these identified challenges, recommendations for system improvement were made by targeting low satisfaction levels. Proposed solutions involve enhancing data management, storage practices, user access control, and reducing the risk of system errors, ensuring more efficient and reliable library information system.

Abstract

Heart disease in all its forms remains a significant health threat. Arrhythmia is a type of heart disease whose diagnosis and treatment still primarily rely on conventional electrocardiogram-based diagnosis. However, this approach is limited, as it is reactive and captures cardiac conditions only at the time of electrocardiogram measurement, making it unable to continuously and individually monitor arrhythmia progression for each patient. This study explores digital twin technology and develops human digital twin models for the treatment of arrhythmia patients. The modeling framework integrates three core components: geometrical modeling, physical modeling, and data-driven modeling to represent the human heart and cardiovascular system in a digital environment. The output of this integrative process has been implemented in the initial prototype of the Human Digital Twin Cockpit, which is designed to treat arrhythmia. This prototype enhances the existing diagnosis and treatment, and also incorporates a proactive simulation system. Evaluation and system testing have successfully demonstrated their ability to integrate geometric data from medical imaging and physical data from electrophysiological sensors to predict arrhythmia in various scenarios

Abstract

The rapid growth of scientific publications in Indonesia has created a need for text analysis methods capable of automatically clustering articles based on content similarity and research themes. This study aims to implement a combination of Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) and the K-Means in the process of grouping scientific journal abstracts in the field of informatics. The research data consist of 1,200 scientific journal abstracts manually collected from the official SINTA (Science and Technology Index) portal for the 2023”“2024 publication period, covering various levels of national journal accreditation. The study employs an unsupervised machine learning approach consisting of several stages, including text preprocessing, TF-IDF weighting, clustering using K-Means, and result evaluation using the Silhouette Score and Davies”“Bouldin Index (DBI) metrics. The TF-IDF weighting process produced 3,000 of the most informative terms, dominated by keywords such as data, method, result, and system, reflecting the research characteristics in the field of informatics. The clustering process generated four main clusters with a Silhouette Score of 0.0121 and a DBI value of 8.3996, indicating that the model was able to identify initial thematic similarities among abstracts. The Word Cloud visualization revealed variations in research topic focus across clusters, including algorithm testing, data model development, system applications, and methodological implementation. This study contributes to the development of a national framework for scientific text analysis that can be utilized for research topic mapping, inter-institutional collaboration, and data-driven research policy formulation.
