Abstract

Purpose: Malnutrition in toddlers is a nutritional issue that Indonesia is still dealing with. Toddlers can suffer from decreasing cognitive and physical abilities, as well as being categorized as having a high risk of death. Early detection is crucial for preventing this and providing appropriate treatment if malnutrition is detected. Classification is a machine-learning technique widely used in disease detection. Because it is simple and easy to implement, K-Nearest Neighbor is the most used classification algorithm. Detecting malnutrition can be done automatically and more quickly by utilizing classification and machine learning algorithms. The aim of this study was to analyze performance to find out which model is best for detecting malnutrition by evaluating the performance of classification using KNN with the Euclidean distance function. Methods: The dataset used in this study is the nutritional status of toddlers from Puskesmas Ubung. The classification method proposed in this research is the KNN algorithm with Euclidean distance. There are three scenarios for the classification model that will be used. Performance classification will compare each model in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and mean absolute error. Results: The experimental results show that KNN k = 15 using the first model generates excellent classification when classifying malnourished toddlers using the Euclidean distance function. The model obtains 91% accuracy, 86.6% precision, 83.8% recall, 85.2% recall, and a mean absolute error of 0.09.Novelty: In this experiment, we analyzed the performance of the KNN to classify malnourished children using a nutritional status dataset, which resulted in an excellent classification that could be used for early detection.

Abstract

Heart disease in all its forms remains a significant health threat. Arrhythmia is a type of heart disease whose diagnosis and treatment still primarily rely on conventional electrocardiogram-based diagnosis. However, this approach is limited, as it is reactive and captures cardiac conditions only at the time of electrocardiogram measurement, making it unable to continuously and individually monitor arrhythmia progression for each patient. This study explores digital twin technology and develops human digital twin models for the treatment of arrhythmia patients. The modeling framework integrates three core components: geometrical modeling, physical modeling, and data-driven modeling to represent the human heart and cardiovascular system in a digital environment. The output of this integrative process has been implemented in the initial prototype of the Human Digital Twin Cockpit, which is designed to treat arrhythmia. This prototype enhances the existing diagnosis and treatment, and also incorporates a proactive simulation system. Evaluation and system testing have successfully demonstrated their ability to integrate geometric data from medical imaging and physical data from electrophysiological sensors to predict arrhythmia in various scenarios

Abstract

E-portfolios have increasingly been integrated into higher education to promote reflection, documentation, and learner autonomy; however, their effectiveness in English Language Teaching (ELT) in Indonesia remains insufficiently examined. This study evaluates the use of e-portfolio-based learning in an Evaluation in ELT course by employing the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model. Four research questions guided the investigation, focusing on the relevance of the programme context, the adequacy of inputs, the implementation processes, and the resulting learning outcomes. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of students’ e-portfolios. The participants consisted of one lecturer and thirty-seven seventh-semester students (ten males and twenty-seven females) enrolled in the course during the 2022/2023 academic year; additionally, three students were purposively selected for in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that (1) the context supported the adoption of e-portfolios as it aligned with course needs and learning objectives; (2) the input—including digital facilities, infrastructure, and access to online tools—was adequate for implementation; (3) the process showed active student engagement, although challenges such as connectivity issues, device limitations, and time constraints were present; and (4) the product demonstrated positive learning outcomes, including improved documentation practices, better understanding of course material, and increased digital literacy. The study underscores the potential of e-portfolios to enhance ELT learning and suggests the need for more structured feedback mechanisms and technical support to optimise future implementation.
