Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of knowledge management, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and innovation on the performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia, as well as to analyze the mediating roles of innovation and AI in strengthening SME performance. The study employed a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 200 SMEs across various industrial sectors in Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the validity of the measurement model and examine the hypothesized relationships among variables. This study contributes to the literature by integrating knowledge management, AI adoption, and innovation within a unified framework to explain SME performance. It provides empirical evidence on the mediating roles of innovation and AI, highlighting their strategic importance in translating knowledge resources into superior organizational performance. The findings suggest that SME owners and managers should invest in structured knowledge management systems and AI-supported technologies to enhance decision-making, collaboration, and innovation capabilities. Policymakers are encouraged to support SMEs through training programs and technological infrastructure development to foster sustainable SME growth. This study is limited by its cross-sectional design and reliance on self-reported survey data, which may restrict causal interpretation. Future research is recommended to employ longitudinal designs, expand sample coverage, and incorporate additional contextual variables to deepen understanding of digital transformation and performance dynamics in SMEs.

Abstract

Purpose: This program aims to enhance the capacity of coastal communities in managing marine ecotourism potential while maintaining the sustainability of coral reef ecosystems. Research Methodology: The implementation methods include socialization, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), technical training, and hands-on practice in the creation and installation of BioReefTek media and spiderwebs as tools for coral growth, involving 48 participants (fishermen and Mitra Analaut) on November 8, 2025. Results: The activities resulted in a significant increase in community knowledge and participation in marine conservation, with a 90% improvement measured through pre-test and post-test evaluations. The FGD produced important recommendations regarding the need for synergy between education, conservation, and nature-based economic development. The active role of the Anana Laut Community was a key element of the program’s success through local innovation and cross-sector collaboration involving the community, academics, government, and private sector. Conclusions: This program demonstrates the effectiveness of a holistic approach in integrating simple technology with local wisdom for the sustainability of coral reef ecosystems. Limitations: The limitation of this community service lies in the use of the BioReefTek method, which requires experimentation with more complex methods for coral ecosystem restoration. Contributions: This program contributes to the preservation of coral reefs, which are better preserved and experiencing improved growth. It also impacts the increased fish catch for fishermen.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of perceived ease of use and security of e-wallets on the consumptive behavior of students in Kupang City. The analytical method employed is multiple linear regression, with 100 respondents collected through an online questionnaire distribution for analysis. The results indicate that the ease to use of e-wallets does not significantly effect of consumptive behavior, whereas e-wallet security has a significant influence. Simultaneously, both ease to use and security of e-wallets have an impact on consumer behavior. These findings contribute to theoretical development by strengthening the understanding of the importance of security in digital consumptive behavior among students, and also serve as a practical reference for e-wallet service providers should strengthen security features in order to build consumer trust. For example through digital education, transparency of privacy policies, and innovation in account protection features so that e-wallet adoption in this region becomes more widespread and sustainable.

Abstract

The tourism sector plays an important role in driving regional economic growth in North Kalimantan by absorbing labor and attracting both domestic and international tourists, which contributes to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the accommodation and food and beverage sub-sector. Tourism development is supported by the availability of restaurants, accommodation facilities, and bedrooms, which act as key drivers of tourism activities, particularly in the non-star hotel sector. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the growth of non-star hotel tourism in North Kalimantan. The GRDP of the accommodation and food and beverage sub-sector is used as the dependent variable to represent sector growth, while the number of restaurants, accommodation establishments, and bedrooms serve as independent variables. The study covers the period from 2018 to 2023 across five districts/cities: Malinau, Bulungan, Tana Tidung, Nunukan, and Tarakan. Panel data regression analysis is applied using CEM, FEM, and REM models. The results indicate that restaurants, accommodation, and bedrooms have a significant positive effect on the growth of the non-star hotel tourism sector.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of green marketing at Maida Coffee Shop, a local micro-business in Kupang, Indonesia, that has built a reputation for environmental concern despite its operational scale. The research addresses how the coffee shop integrates sustainability principles into its marketing and operational practices. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in depth interviews with the owner and direct observation. The findings reveal that Maida Coffee actively constructs a green brand identity through strategic environmental communication, notably its "Saving Forests Through Coffee" (“Menjaga Hutan Lewat Kopi”) campaign, and robust collaborations with environmental communities. These efforts are central to its brand narrative. However, a gap exists between this communicated environmental awareness and its operational practices. Limitations in waste management, energy efficiency, and the adoption of biodegradable packaging were identified, primarily constrained by cost, technology, and local consumer purchasing power. The study concludes that while Maida Coffee effectively uses narrative and communication to build a sustainable brand image, it is in a transitional phase toward more comprehensive green business practices. Recommendations focus on strengthening operational consistency, inclusive pricing strategies, and enhanced consumer education to align its green identity with tangible actions

Abstract

This research investigates the mediating function of knowledge management in the relationship between technological innovation and the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. The results of the analysis, which utilizes a quantitative approach and a survey of 128 SMEs, indicate that technological innovation has a positive impact on the performance of SMEs (β = 0.668; p < 0.001). Furthermore, knowledge management mediates this relationship by 63.5% (β = 0.424; p = 0.003), suggesting that the majority of the impact of technological innovation on performance is mediated by knowledge management. Investments in technology will not yield optimal returns in the absence of sufficient knowledge management capabilities. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) must effectively balance the development of knowledge management systems with the investment in technology. Also, the government must differentiate policies between developed and underdeveloped regions (3T) and enhance the knowledge management component in SME digitalization programs. By empirically demonstrating that knowledge management is a central mechanism that transforms technology into SME performance in developing countries, this study addresses a gap in the literature.
