Abstract

This study aims to determine the scenario and implementation of learning for fourth grade elementary school students, to find out teacher responses and student responses and to find out the difficulties faced by students during learning using cooperative learning models, greeting techniques and questions. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The instruments are used through observation, questionnaires, interviews and tests. Learning is related to student achievement, student learning achievement results will increase with a pleasant classroom atmosphere. Creating a pleasant classroom atmosphere is by applying learning models, one of which is the cooperative model of sending greetings and questions. Through the cooperative learning model, the technique of sending greetings and questions, students can practice their ability to make their own questions and answer questions made by their friends, so that students will better understand the material taught by the teacher. Thus, the application of the cooperative learning model of greeting techniques and questions will be able to improve the PPKn learning process in schools to be more effective, because students can actively participate in the learning process and the learning outcomes achieved will be better.

Abstract

This study aimed to produce project-oriented TPACK-based teaching materials (Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge) that can improve the students’ creative thinking skills of elementary school teacher prospective students. This research used development research method (RnD) which was adapted from Borg & Gall. There were 10 Borg & Gall development procedures which are modified into 8 stages which were adapted to the conditions in the field. The results showed that the project-oriented TPACK-based teaching materials were suitable for use in learning with valid, practical, and effective criteria. The validation results from the average value of the expert validator of teaching materials and learning technology media show that teaching materials are considered valid both in terms of construct and content. Observations on the activity of lecturers and students which increased at each meeting indicated that practical teaching materials were applied in learning, as well as the results of students' creative thinking skills tests showed that teaching materials were effective in increasing the students’ creative thinking skills of prospective teacher. The implication of this research is the use of the right method can affect the achievement of creative thinking skills of students to be able to propose various alternative problem solving. The suggestions for further research are developing project-oriented TPACK-based teaching materials for elementary school students.

Abstract

This local wisdom-based learning is expected to be able to bridge students to understand and know the customs, culture, values and norms that apply in the region or ethnic group. This study aims to explore the values of local wisdom in elementary social studies learning using a Problem based learning model. The research design uses a descriptive research model. The data collected in the form of quantitative data through formative tests, analysis of observation sheets, and document analysis. The number of research subjects consisted of 35 students divided. This research was conducted in a public school located in Cimahi City. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the PBL model to explore the values of local wisdom in elementary social studies learning can be selected and used as one of the appropriate methods or innovations to be applied by teachers in the online learning process.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of grade 1 students in understanding math word problems. Math story problems are a form of math problems that contain aspects of the ability to read, reason, analyze, and find solutions. This study aims to describe the Problem Based Learning model assisted by snakes and ladders game media that can be implemented to solve problems related to the low ability of students to understand story problems. This research is a qualitative research using classroom action research methods. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, observation, documentation studies, and data were analyzed qualitatively descriptively. Researchers analyzed the data by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. This research was conducted in two cycles. The pre-cycle percentage based on the results of the researchers' observations was only 40% of students who scored above the KKM. These results have increased quite well after the implementation of PTK. Evidenced by the results of the average percentage of students’ understanding of mathematical concept in cycle I of 67% of students getting scores above the KKM. In cycle II there was an increase to 87% of students getting scores above the KKM. The data shows that students' understanding of mathematical concepts in mathematics subject matter of word problems has increased through the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by snakes and ladders game media.

Abstract

In our lives, of course, humans really need adequate nutrition obtained from the food we consume every day, especially at a growing age such as children, children's nutrition must be adequate and fulfilled in terms of nutritional content. The issue of nutritional problems is often a problem that receives little attention. Behavior is determined by knowledge factors (Notoatmodjo 2014). By knowing the characteristics of unhealthy snacks, children can avoid consuming additives that are harmful to the body. Moreover, there are many phenomena among children, especially of school age, especially at the elementary school level, there are still many children who often snack on food/snacks, which of course are made from food ingredients. If you pay attention, there are many snacks that are not good for children, for this reason it is necessary there is intensive guidance to children, parents and teachers regarding these snack habits. The methods used in this Pkm are lecture, practice/simulation and question and answer methods involving upper class students. The result of this method is an increase in the average value of knowledge about healthy snacks and healthy lifestyles among students. It is hoped that this result will make students' behavior more careful in choosing healthy snacks and implementing a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Isu-isu pokok penelitian ini adalah bagaimana mengembangkan pembelajaran inovatif melalui Hands On Activity (HOA) bagi siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD) yang efektif dan efisien. Tujuan penelitian yang ingin dicapai sebagai berikut: (1). Meningkatkan kemampuan aspek psikomotorik siswa SD melalui HOA dengan memberikan berbagai macam cara belajar yang menggerakkan dan menggunakan tangan; (2). Memberikan pembelajaran HOA yang menyenangkan dan bisa menginspirasi siswa-siswa SD; (3). Memberikan cara-cara belajar efektif melalui kegiatan HOA yang bersifat kolaboratif antar siswa. Metode/pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pencapaian tujuan sebagai berikut: (a). Mengumpulkan siswa-siswa dan guru-guru SD se-Kecamatan Cimahi Selatan; (b). Memberikan gambaran umum mengenai kegiatan penelitian yang akan dilakukan; (c). Melakukan refleksi, diskusi mengenai berbagai kegiatan pembelajaran HOA yang akan dilakukan; (d). Melakukan kolaborasi dengan guru-guru SD dan masyarakat sekitar dalam penentuan lokasi SD yang akan diberikan pembelajaran HOA; (e). Pelaksanaan pembelajaran HOA; (f). Evaluasi pembelajaran HOA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan aspek psikomotorik siswa SD melalui HOA dengan memberikan berbagai macam cara belajar yang menggerakkan dan menggunakan tangan sebesar 23%; (2). Siswa-siswa SD antusias dengan pembelajaran HOA yang diberikan guru; (3). Terjadinya kolaboratif antara satu siswa dengan siswa lainnya pada saat pembelajaran HOA dilakukan.

Abstract

Keterampilan mengajar guru perlu diimbangi dengan adanya keterampilan untuk menulis sebagai salah satu upaya untuk memperluas hasil inovasi pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan. Kendala utama dalam memperluas hasil inovasi pembelajaran bagi guru adalah publikasi ilmiah, terutama melalui open journal system (OJS) yang menjadi salah satu aplikasi utama dalam publikasi ilmiah. Sehingga pelatihan terkait dengan publikasi ilmiah bagi guru di sekolah dasar menjadi penting adanya. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah webinar yang dilakukan secara daring melalui aplikasi zoom meeting, mengingat kondisi pandemi yang ada pada saat pelatihan ini dilaksanakan. Sasaran utama dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah guru sekolah dasar yang ada di Kota Cimahi. Diharapkan dengan adanya pengabdian ini para guru dapat melaksanakan publikasi ilmiah pada aplikasi OJS, sehingga berbagai hasil penelitian tindakan kelas maupun pengalaman mengajar dapat disebar luaskan secara ilmiah dan menjadi rujukan bagi para pendidik di kabupaten/ kota lainnya.

Abstract

Decision making is a very important ability possessed by individuals at this time, especially in solving socio-scientific issues. The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends regarding socio-scientific issue-based decision making in elementary schools by conducting a bibliometric analysis of bibliographic data on technical research articles indexed by Google Scholar by combining analysis in terms of bibliometric map distribution using VOS viewer software. The research data was obtained from Google Scholar database through the Publish or Perish reference management application. The data filtering process was carried out based on the keywords "decision making and socio-scientific issues" contained in the topic, title, keywords, and abstract domains. The tracing was carried out on articles published from 2006 to 2022. From the search results obtained 23 relevant articles. The results showed that research on decision making based on socio-scientific issues was mostly carried out in 2010 and 2014. Research on decision making based on socio-scientific issues was rarely carried out at the elementary school level. So, it can be concluded that the opportunity for developing research regarding decision-making based on socio-scientific issues at the elementary school level is very large. Therefore, it is hoped that this study can provide references and considerations in seeking further research fields, especially those related to decision-making based on socio-scientific issues in elementary schools.

Abstract

The transformation of culture to the younger generation is very important to be carried out through learning in schools by integrating culture and cultural values in the ethno-pedagogical-based learning process. Based on this statement, the purpose of this study was to analyze school teachers' perceptions of Ethno pedagogy and its implementation in learning in elementary schools. The method used in this research is the descriptive method with survey design. The subjects in this study were elementary school teachers in one of the cities in West Java with a total of 89 teachers. The research instrument is an interview sheet instrument to determine the perception of elementary school teachers on Ethno pedagogy and its implementation. The results of his research obtained several themes regarding Ethno pedagogy, namely learning based on local wisdom values, culture-based learning, and learning based on ethnic diversity, ethnicity, and customs, 81% of 89 elementary school teachers had implemented Ethno pedagogy-based learning, and 100% of 89 teachers stated that Ethno pedagogy is very important to understand and implement in learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The following is the goal of this study: 1) to improve fifth-grade students' comprehension of social studies concepts; ( 2) the challenges of 5th grade primary school understudies in working on their capacity to grasp social examinations ideas; and, thirdly, the challenges teachers face when implementing the research-based problem-based learning model. The study employed a mixed methods and sequential explanatory design. The examination area was completed at SDN Cipare. At SDN Cipare, 30 grade V students participated in the study. Subjects The information were acquired from tests (pretest and posttest), and understudy and instructor interview sheets. From the subjective information acquired, it was shown that there was an expansion in the capacity to comprehend the idea of social tests in understudies with a typical starting score of 46.3 to 80.2. In terms of the qualitative data, the results showed that students had difficulty memorizing and comprehending the material when learning social studies. The results of learning activities based on teacher observation show positive results, despite some challenges, such as the teacher's lack of active class organization.
