Abstract

Tujuan penelitian artikel untuk mengetahui pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di RT.06 RW.02 Sukolilo Park Regency Surabaya dalam menciptakan lingkungan bersih dan sehat bagi warganya.  Karena sampah menjadi permasalah bersama bagi masyarakat dari tingkat lokal hingga nasional. Pasal 65 Undang-Undang Tentang Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup yang menyatakan bahwa setiap orang berhak atas lingkungan hidup yang baik dan sehat. Masyarakat memiliki kewajiban untuk memelihara dan melestarikan lingkungan hidup agar tidak terjadi pencemaran atau kerusakan lingkungan di sekitarnya. Hal ini sesuai dengan amanah Pasal 67 Undang-Undang Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan menguraikan atau menjelaskan fenomena yang terjadi terkait dengan pengelolaan sampah di RT.06 RW. 02 Sukolilo Park Regency Surabaya. Data yang ada, di analisis secara kualitas, faktual dan persepsional. Adapun hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa peran serta masyarakat di RT.02 RW.06 hingga hari ini belum optimal terkait dengan keterlibatan pengelolaan sampah hal ini terjadi karena kendala waktu dan warga belum menyadari secara penuh manfaat dan dampak akibat pengelolaan sampah yang kurang optimal. Dan ini tidak sesuai dengan amanah dari pasal 12 Undang-Undang tentang Pengelolaan Sampah. Untuk itu peran serta pemerintah untuk mendorong keterlibatan masyarakat sangat dibutuhkan sebagai amanah dari Pasal 5 Undang-Undang Pengelolaan Sampah.

Abstract

Kota Surabaya merupakan kota pesisir dimana masyarakat nelayan didominasi nelayan tradisional, dengan ukuran kapal kurang dari 5 GT. Dalam Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini yang menjadi mitra adalah Kelompok Nelayan Koperasi 64 Bahari Gillnet, Kecamatan Bulak Surabaya Jawa Timur. Masalah yang dihadapi keluarga nelayan adalah (1). Kurangnya informasi dan keterampilan nelayan gillnet dalam mengaplikasikan alat bantu penangkapan berbasis teknologi tepat guna untuk meningkatkan hasil tangkapan. (2). Belum optimalnya manajemen keuangan usaha pemasaran produk perikanan, dan (3). Belum optimalnya usaha pemasaran produk perikanan melalui “Digital Marketing”. Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk memberikan informasi, pelatihan dan meningkatkan keterampilan: (1). Operasi penangkapan nelayan gillnet menggunakan alat bantu pencahayaan “Surya Net” dengan peserta 10 orang nelayan, (2). Optimalsasi manajemen keuangan usaha perikanan dan (3). Pemanfaatan “Digital Marketing” untuk pemasaran produk perikanan. Kegiatan (2) dan (3) diikuti 10 orang istri nelayan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa: (1). Pemahaman nelayan tentang teknologi untuk meningkatkan hasil tangkapan, teknologi peghematan BBM saat operasi, dan tingkah laku rajungan terhadap cahaya, meningkat. (2). Pemahaman istri nelayan tentang sistem pencatatan keuangan untuk usaha, pengelolaan keuangan untuk usaha dan tingkat keuntungan usaha, meningkat. (3). Pemahaman istri nelayan tentang digital marketing produk perikanan, cara pemasaran produk perikanan dan pemanfaatan media sosial untuk pemasaran produk perikanan, meningkat.

Abstract

Angka kejadian permasalahan kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia mencapai 57,6%, dimana tergolong sangat tinggi, dengan 93% di antaranya dialami oleh anak-anak usia sekolah. Pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku individu memiliki peran yang penting dalam menjaga kesehatan gigi mulut. Lingkungan sekitar anak, terutama keluarga dan guru, memiliki peran yang krusial dalam membentuk sikap dan perilaku mereka. School Health Program (SHP) yang melibatkan pelatihan Training of Trainer (ToT) mengenai kesehatan gigi mulut bagi guru dan orang tua mencakup kegiatan menyikat gigi dua kali sehari selama 21 hari. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendidikan kepada anak dan orang tua beserta guru tentang perlunya menjaga oral hygiene yang baik serta mengajarkan teknik menggosok gigi dengan pasta gigi berfluoride. Inisiatif ini juga mendukung pencapaian target "Indonesia Bebas Karies 2030" dan dilaksanakan secara daring melalui aplikasi Zoom. Pemahaman peserta terkait kesehatan gigi dievaluasi melalui kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pelatihan. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji t-sampel berpasangan untuk mengetahui dan membandingkan nilai rerata sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pelatihan menunjukkan nilai p<0,05, yang mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan mengenai pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi mulut pada guru serta orang tua siswa di SD Raden Paku melalui program ToT. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku mengenai kesehatan gigi dan mulut setelah materi diberikan.

Abstract

Sukolilo district faces significant problems in catfish cultivation, especially related to the use of tarpaulin ponds as a cultivation medium. Technical constraints experienced by the community include ph, temperature, and tarpaulin pond management. The community service activities of the hang tuah university surabaya faculty of engineering and marine science team have the aim of educating and empowering the community in utilizing catfish cultivation by optimizing tarpaulin materials. The method is in the form of land preparation, making ponds with tarpaulins, preparing needs stage, hatchery implementation stage observation of cultivation implementation and marketing, with training and counseling. The final result of this community service activity is that the economic potential in keputih village, sukolilo district can be raised by optimizing catfish farming activities with tarpaulins.

Abstract

Oral health is an important aspect in children's growth and development. Problems such as cavities and poor oral hygiene can affect academic achievement and quality of life. This activity aims to increase student awareness of the importance of maintaining oral health from an early age. This community service was carried out on 83 students in grades 4 and 5 of Elementry School Hang Tuah 6 Surabaya by providing health promotion education and dental and oral examinations. The activity was carried out by involving a team of dentists and assisted by students from the Faculty of Dentistry, Hang Tuah University. It began with a pre-test assessment before education was given and a post-test after education was given, followed by a dental and oral health examination. The average pre-test score was 69.39 and the average post-test score was 86.59. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, p-value <0.05, showed a significant difference between the Pre-Test and Post-Test scores. This means that after dental health education, their knowledge and awareness of dental and oral health increased. For students who have dental problems such as cavities, they are followed up with dental care at Nala Husada Dental Hospital. It is hoped that with this program, awareness of dental and oral health will increase, the number of cases of toothache and swollen gums will decrease, and there will be changes in behavior in maintaining dental and oral health.

Abstract

The threat of various infectious diseases remains emerge in the world after COVID-19 pandemic. Public health response should be addressed to combating the infectious diseases threat. The community services are an important activity to achieve the third SDGs programme such as the prevention the lower tractus respiratory infection. This community partner was the Fourteen Roses Beach Hotel staff. The activities were training and counselling about the lower tractus respiratory infection. We report an increasing of the partners knowledge of prevention the lower tractus respiratory infection as of 70%. The current community service results will support the achievement of the third SDGs

Abstract

High rates of dental caries and low oral hygiene status are oral health problems that are often found in children's age groups. Based on Riskesdas data in 2018, it was reported that the prevalence of dental and oral problems in Indonesia was 57.6% and only 10.2% received dental medical treatment. An optimal level of public dental health can be achieved if each individual and community group has the knowledge, awareness, ability, and willingness to maintain good dental health. The training program for elementary school teachers can be an alternative to optimize the improvement of the dental and oral health status of students at the elementary school level, namely the “Squid Smile” training program and synergize with the School Dental Health Effort program. This training activity is carried out in several stages as follows: a) Training and education related to the psychological development of elementary school-age children; b) Training and education related to dental and oral health of elementary school-age children; c) Preparation of the School Dental Health Efforts (UKGS) Program; d) Monitoring and Evaluation of the implementation of the School Dental Health Efforts (UKGS) program. The results of this training had a positive impact on the participants or teachers who participated. The increase in knowledge possessed by teachers or participants is an initial provision for the implementation of UKGS at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Surabaya. In addition, there is also a need for training and professional development for teachers to improve their understanding of children's cognitive development. With better knowledge, teachers can design learning experiences that are more effective and support students' cognitive development

Abstract

Oral health in Indonesia is still a health problem that needs attention. Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), it is reported that the prevalence of oral and dental problems in Indonesia is still very high. The above can be caused by the lack of knowledge and lack of awareness of the Indonesian population towards dental hygiene, to overcome oral health problems in Indonesia Training of Trainers for teachers and parents for 21-day morning and night brushing activities teaches children and adults about the benefits of good oral hygiene and shows them how to brush their teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to realize caries-free Indonesia in 2030. This activity is held online through the zoom application. The target participants were elementary school and inclusive school students aged 7-12 years, 10 parents and 10 teachers at SD Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya. The mechanism of the activity is “Training of Trainer” (TOT) for students and parents, showing that Training of Trainer activities on teachers and parents of SD Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya students can increase their knowledge and awareness on oral health.

Abstract

Dental and oral problems in Indonesian children are caused by low knowledge, comprehension, and behavior that ignores dental and oral health maintenance, resulting in tooth and mouth damage. This activity is in partnership with SD Yapita which is a school supported by the Faculty of Dentistry, Hang Tuah University. The aim is to prepare parents and teachers of Yapita Elementary School students to become ambassadors for oral and dental hygiene so that they can become mentors for their children or students. This method is carried out online and offline from classes 1 to 6 using a simple random sampling technique. The results were statistically analyzed using the Paired T-test. The average pre-test score from the teacher was 60 and the parents were 56, while the post-test result from the teacher was 84 and the parents was 85. The results of the data analysis were normally distributed (p>0.05) followed by the Paired correlation test T-test. The results show a relationship between the pre and post-test of teachers and parents. This shows that this educational activity can increase the knowledge of teachers and parents so that they can become ambassadors of oral and dental hygiene to their children or students.

Abstract

Feed is one of the most determining factors in cultivation activities, with good and correct feed making techniques it is expected to create fish feed with a formulation that is in accordance with the growth of catfish. The purpose of this community service is to improve the knowledge, attitudes and skills of fish farmers. The method of implementing the activity is through practice, discussion and question and answer. The results of the community service activities went well and correctly, participants were able to understand the material presented by the resource person including feed formulation, material selection and fish feed printing. The tools and materials used in this activity are feed printing machines (vertical and extruder) and scales. While the materials used are 25% fish meal, 22% soybean meal, 40% bran, 10% tapioca, 2% vitamins, 1% minerals
