Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of educational animated videos as a medium for science learning. In addition, this study aims to investigate the differences in students’ learning enthusiasm between students taught using animated videos and those taught using conventional teaching methods. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model involving fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 22 Palu. Data were collected through observations, interviews, validation questionnaires, and learning motivation questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The media obtained a validity score of 89.82% and a practicality score of 86.46%, categorized as very valid and practical. The media also helped teachers deliver learning materials more clearly, interactively, and effectively for students. In addition, the use of animated videos can increase student participation and engagement during the learning process. Furthermore, the developed media demonstrated high practicality and effectiveness in supporting elementary students’ science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Scramble learning model on the learning outcomes in the fine arts subject for grade III SD Inpres 2 Talise. The learning outcomes of students in fine arts remain less than optimal and still need support to improve. This is due to learning that is still centered on the teacher and the lack of use of learning models that actively involve students. The research used is quantitative, employing the experimental method, while the design of this study is a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample for this study consisted of 19 grade III students at SD Inpres 2 Talise. Sampling used saturated sampling. Data collection techniques used were observation and learning outcome tests. The independent variable (X) in this study is the effect of the scrambled learning model, while the dependent variable (Y) is student learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing uses the paired sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that the average pretest score of 48.368 increased to 75.157 in the posttest after the application of the scrambled learning model. This is indicated by the t-test result of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. These results indicate that the Scramble learning model can improve student learning outcomes in Fine Arts subjects. Thus, it can be concluded that the Scramble learning model influences the learning outcomes of grade III students at SD Inpres 2 Talise.

Abstract

Students' learning motivation in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) at SD Inpres 8 Mamboro was relatively low, as reflected in their limited participation and enthusiasm during classroom learning activities. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students' learning motivation in IPAS. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 26 students in the experimental group and 25 students in the control group. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire based on six indicators: perseverance, resilience in facing difficulties, interest in problem-solving, independence, preference for challenges, and strong determination. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an Independent Samples t-test. The results showed that the post-test mean learning motivation score of the experimental group (M = 61.73, SD = 2.71) was substantially higher than that of the control group (M = 37.76, SD = 2.91). Hypothesis testing revealed a statistically significant difference between the two groups (t(49) = 30.503, p < .001). Furthermore, the effect size analysis yielded a Cohen's d value of 8.544, indicating a very large effect. These findings demonstrate that Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an effective instructional approach for enhancing students' learning motivation by providing meaningful, contextual learning experiences that actively engage students in IPAS.
