Abstract

This research aims to create digital pop up book media based on discovery learning to improve descriptive text writing skills in elementary schools. The research was conducted at SDN 01 Central Bengkulu. This research is development research (Reseach and Development) with the ADDIE model. The research object is a digital pop up book learning media based on discovery learning in Indonesian language lessons, material for writing poetry description texts. The instruments used were feasibility test questionnaires and teacher and student response test questionnaires. The feasibility test was carried out by 6 validators, namely 2 material experts, 2 language experts and 2 presentation experts. User response testing was carried out on 23 class IV students and 1 class teacher at SDN 01 Central Bengkulu. Data analysis is used to determine the validity of learning media using cross tabulation and questionnaire distribution. The results of the learning media feasibility test by the validator were reviewed from the material, language and presentation aspects, the material feasibility was 0.70 (feasible criteria), the language feasibility results were 0.70 (feasible criteria) and the presentation feasibility results were 0.80 (very feasible criteria). The results of the learning media field test by conducting a pretest and posttest with the gain test results showing 23 students with a high gain criterion of 10 students with a percentage of 43.5%, then a medium criterion of 12 students with a percentage of 52.2%, then a low criterion of 1 student. with a percentage of 4.3%. Apart from that, the results of interviews with class IV teachers showed a positive response. In other words, the learning media used can improve students' descriptive text writing skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop TaRL-based student worksheets to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in grade IV decimal fraction material in elementary schools. The type of research used in this research is development research. The research subjects were fourth grade students at SD Negeri 10 South Bengkulu as the experimental class and control class. Data collection techniques use needs questionnaires, response questionnaires and tests. Research instruments use needs analysis instruments, expert validation instruments, product trial instruments, product effectiveness test instruments. Data analysis in this research was carried out by analyzing expert validity data, rater/researcher agreement, standardization of instruments, description of learning outcome profiles. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the development of Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) based student worksheets to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes which were developed according to material expert validators, language validators and media validators was declared suitable for use in the learning process. From the posttest results of class IV students at SD Negeri 10 South Bengkulu, it is known that the use of TaRL-based student worksheets has had a positive impact on students in terms of improving students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive snakes and ladders game media assisted by Adobe Flash to improve student learning outcomes in fractions material for grade III in elementary schools. The type of research used in this study is development research. The subjects of the study were grade III students of SDN 07 Tebing Tinggi, Empat Lawang Regency, South Sumatra as the experimental class and control class. Data collection techniques used a needs questionnaire, response questionnaire and test. The research instrument used a needs analysis instrument, expert validation instrument, question trial instrument, product effectiveness test instrument. Data analysis in this study was carried out by analyzing expert validity data, rater agreement, instrument standardization, description of learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the development of interactive snakes and ladders game media assisted by Adobe Flash improves student learning outcomes in fractions material developed according to the material expert validator obtained a feasibility value of 0.95, the language validator obtained a feasibility value of 0.93 and the media validator obtained a feasibility value of 0.84. This media is declared very valid or feasible to be used in the learning process. From the posttest results of grade III students of SD Negeri 07 Tebing Tinggi, it is known that they obtained scores above the KKM through the use of interactive snakes and ladders game media assisted by Adobe Flash with a sig value of 0.200 > 0.05, this providing a positive impact on students towards improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy has an important role in solving students' real-life problems in supporting literacy skills, teachers can use real contexts as outlined in tasks in-class learning. The Bengkulu context can be used because it is closely related to the environment and students' daily live. This study aims to produce math literacy tasks in the Bengkulu context which are valid and potential impact on student literacy. The research employed a development design with a formative evaluative model using stages of self-evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, and field tests. The subjects of the research were students in the eighth grade of a Junior High School in Bengkulu City. Data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, tests, and interviews. This study produced four mathematical literacy tasks with the Bengkulu context that met the criteria of being valid and having a potential impact. Mathematical tasks that are designed with the context can improve students' mathematical literacy activities. The use of tasks with context can be a learning resource that strengthens the introduction of students' local culture.

Abstract

This exploratory study investigates the teaching and learning of mathematical proofs, specifically focusing on real nalysis proofs, in mathematics education programs at the higher education level in Bengkulu Province. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, classroom observations, and document analysis of students' assignments. The findings reveal that lecturers employ various teaching strategies, such as active learning, step-by-step explanations, and the use of technology to aid understanding. However, students face significant challenges, including difficulties with abstract thinking, gaps in foundational knowledge, and the complex language of mathematical proofs. Despite these challenges, students reported improvements in their logical reasoning, problem-solving, and self-confidence as they were engaged in the construction mathematical proofs. Classroom observations confirmed that collaborative learning was effective in promoting understanding. Document analysis of students' assignments indicated a range of proficiency levels, with some students struggling to produce clear and logical proofs. The study highlights the importance of mathematical proofs in developing critical thinking skills and analytical abilities. It suggests that more interactive, student-centered teaching methods are necessary to address the challenges students face and improve learning outcomes. These findings provide valuable insights for enhancing teaching practices and supporting students' mastery of mathematical proofs.

Abstract

Indonesia's efforts to achieve international education standards and address shortcomings in educational attainment are evident in implementing the Merdeka curriculum. However, a major challenge remains limited learning resources that hinder the curriculum's goals. This research addresses this gap by developing a valid, practical, and potentially impactful STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)-based teaching module designed to enhance elementary school students' literacy skills. The research employs a development research methodology with four stages: definition, design, development, and dissemination. The target population consisted of students from state elementary schools in Bengkulu, Indonesia. Data collection utilized a combination of observation, questionnaires, and literacy tests. Qualitative descriptive statistics were employed for data analysis. The findings demonstrate that the developed STEAM module meets the criteria for validity and high practicality. Additionally, the module exhibits the potential for positively impacting students' literacy abilities. The implication of this research is that the STEAM module, through its engaging activities, can increase student motivation in learning, ultimately leading to improved literacy skills.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a valid and practical e-module using the Bengkulu context that potentially affects students' literacy skills to understand the materials of patterns and number sequences. This research employed a research and development method. The development stages refer to Plomp’s five developments: (1) preliminary research, (2) the prototype-making stage, and (3) the assessment stage. The subjects of this research were 24 eighth-graders of SMP Negeri 6 Bengkulu City. The data collection techniques of this research were observation and test. Meanwhile, the research instruments were validation instruments, questionnaires, and literacy test questions. Validity analysis was conducted descriptively and consisted of an analysis of validity, practicality, and literacy test results. The average score of the expert validity is 0.64 and meets the valid criterion. The e- module has a practical category with a score of 3.55, and the requirements are very practical. The e-module has impacted students' literacy skills with an average score of 74.25 or good criteria. Moreover, e-module using Bengkulu context problems can encourage students to improve their mathematical literacy skills.DOI : https://doi.org/10.22342/jpm.16.2.17698.171-186

Abstract

ABSTRAK            Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi komputer sebagai media pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model Drill And Practice pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Development Research) yang dilakukan dengan empat tahap yaitu : Tahap Self Evaluation, uji validitas (Expert Review), uji praktikalitas (Small Group), dan uji efektivitas (Field Test). Validitas media pembelajaran dilakukan pada bidang materi, media dan bahasa. Kepraktisan dan efektivitas media diuji pada 35 orang siswa di SMPN 4 Kota Bengkulu. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validitas, lembar praktikalitas, dan lembar efektivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan dikategorikan valid karena sesuai pada materi yang dipembelajarkan, kriteria media yang baik dan bahasa yang sesuai dengan kaidahnya. Media yang dikembangkan dikategorikan praktis karena media yang dibuat mudah digunakan dan dioperasikan. Media yang dikembangkan dikategorikan efektif karena media dapat meningkatkan semangat dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci : Penelitian Pengembangan, Aplikasi Komputer, Media Pembelajaran, Drill And Practice, Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar.ABSTRACT            This study aims to produce computer applications as a medium of mathematics learning using Model Drill And Practice at polyhedron Lesson SMPN 4 Bengkulu City. This research is Research and Development done by four stages that is the stage of self evaluation, validity test (expert review), test of practicality (small group), and effectiveness test (field test).  The validity of instructional media is done in the fields of material, media and languages.  Practicality and efectiveness of media was tested by 35 students at SMPN 4 Bengkulu city.  The instrument of the research are media validation sheet, media practicality sheet, and media efectiveness sheet. The results showed that the developed media was categorized as valid because it corresponds to the material under study, good media criteria and language in accordance with the rules. Developed media is categorized as practical because the media made easy to use and operated. Developed media is categorized as effective because the media can improve the spirit and learning outcomes of students.Key words : Research and Development, Computer Applications, Learning Media, Drill And Practice, Polyhedron.

Abstract

                                                  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal uraian dengan pembelajaran problem posing type post solution. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Talang Empat. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes berbentuk soal cerita.  Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa masing-masing kelompok pada tahap penyelesian soal sudah sesuai dengan indikator pencapaian soal. Kata Kunci: kemampuan menyelesaikan soal uraian, pembelajaran problem posing tipe post solution. AbstractThis study aims to describe the ability to solve the problem description by learning Problem Posing Post Solution type. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Talang Empat. The method used was descriptive qualitative. Technique collecting data using test instrument in form of story problem. Based on the results of the study note that each group at the stage of problem solving is in accordance with the indicators of achievement of the problem that has the average score with sufficient and good criteria. Keywords: problem solving, the problem posing learning post solution type.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji masalah peningkatan hasil belajar siswa antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan teknik Quick On The Draw dan pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis siswa dan hasil tes akhir. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian the nonequivalent posttes-only control group design menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 13 Kota Bengkulu, dengan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes akhir dalam bentuk soal uraian. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, aktivitas siswa dengan menggunakan teknik quick on the draw meningkat. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan uji-t dengan thitung = 2,03 dan ttabel = 1,99 dengan ? = 0,05. Karena thitung>ttabel maka disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan menggunakan teknik quick on the draw lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional di SMP Negeri 13 Kota Bengkulu. Kata kunci : hasil belajar, teknik quick on the draw, aktivitas siswa AbstractThis study examines the problem of improving student learning outcomes between students who are learning with the Quick on The Draw technique and conventional learning in terms of students' final mathematical abilities and final test results. This research is a quasi experimental research with design design of posttest nonequivalent control group using purposive sampling technique. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMPN 13 Kota Bengkulu, with class VIII C as experimental class and class VIII D as control class. The instrument used in this study is the final test in the form of a description problem. Based on the observation, student activity using quick on the draw technique increases. Technique of data analysis by using t-test with tcount = 2.03 and ttable = 1,99 with ? = 0,05. Because thitung> ttabel then concluded the result of student's mathematics learning by using quick on draw technique better than conventional learning in SMP Negeri 13 Kota Bengkulu.  Keywords: learning outcomes, rapid on the draw techniques, student activities
