Abstract

The capacity to comprehend concepts and reasoning in students when addressing mathematical problems is notably low, resulting in a significant number of students who struggle to independently tackle practice problems. This study aims to examine 1) the effect of the Generative Learning Model on the conceptual understanding abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, 2) the effect of the Generative Learning Model on the mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, and 3) the effect of the Generative Learning Model on both the conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah. The sampling technique employed is nonprobability sampling, specifically utilizing saturated sampling (census). The data analysis method applied in this study is the MANOVA technique. The findings indicate that 1) the Generative Learning Model significantly influences the conceptual understanding abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, with a significance value of > 0.05, 2) the Generative Learning Model significantly influences the mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, with a significance value of > 0.05, and 3) the Generative Learning Model significantly influences both the conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, with a significance value of > 0.05

Abstract

Learning outcomes, especially mathematics, are still low both at the international and national levels. The results of the 2021 minimum competency assessment show that student achievement in Indonesia is still low. This requires educators to be more innovative in learning in class so that they can support students' thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of junior high school number 1 in North Bengkulu. This research is a quasi-experimental type with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of seventh-grade students of junior high school number 1 in North Bengkulu. The sample selection used a simple random sampling technique with class VII D as the experimental class and class VII E as the control class. Data collection was carried out using a test using the research instrument, namely the learning achievement test. Data were analyzed using the t-test statistic. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the problem-based learning model on the social arithmetic learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of Junior High School 1 in North Bengkulu.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' creative thinking skills in understanding linear equations. The method used is quantitative research with an experimental approach and descriptive analysis. The population consists of all seventh-grade students at SMPN 17 Bengkulu Utara, with a sample divided into two groups: VIIA as the experimental group with 22 students and VIIB as the control group with 23 students. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 22, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. The results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a significance level (sig. (2-tailed)) of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted. After implementing problem-based learning, students in the experimental group demonstrated better creative thinking skills than those in the control group. In conclusion, problem-based learning positively influences students' creative thinking skills in understanding linear equations. Abstract

The demands of the 21st century have reshaped the educational landscape, particularly in mathematics, requiring students to acquire relevant competencies. However, many elementary students find abstract mathematical concepts challenging, highlighting the need for effective instructional materials. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model. Data were collected through questionnaires and multiple-choice tests, and the analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. Instructional materials integrating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with a differentiated approach were designed and evaluated for validity, practicality, and effectiveness in teaching the perimeter and area of squares and rectangles to fifth-grade elementary students. Teacher and student feedback indicated that the materials were highly practical, and no significant obstacles were encountered. The analysis of student learning outcomes showed a significant improvement in mathematics achievement. These results imply that differentiated PBL materials can enhance students' learning experiences and outcomes, providing a viable solution for addressing individual learning needs in mathematics education. By providing relevant and tailored materials, educators can more effectively address abstract learning challenges and meet the demands of 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the effect of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning model on the creative thinking ability of class X SMKS 10 Telkom students on the material of arithmetic and geometric rows and series. The method used in this research is quantitative and descriptively analysed using the quasi experimental design research method. The study population consisted of all students in class X TJA SMKS 10 Telkom Bengkulu City, with 10 students in class X TJA B as the experimental class and 10 students in class X TJA A as the control class. Homogeneity, normality, and hypothesis tests were used to analyse the data for testing the results of this study. We used SPSS 25.0. The results showed that Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, thus indicating that the Project Based Learning learning model assisted by RPG Maker MV affects students' creative thinking skills on the material of arithmetic and geometric rows and series.
