Abstract

Ideally, vocational high schools are able to produce graduates who can immediately enter the world of work. However, the reality is that there are still vocational high school graduate students who are still unemployed after graduating, this is because students do not prepare career plans beforehand. This type of research is quantitative with a correlational descriptive approach. The sample in this study amounted to 32 vocational students who were determined using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a parental attention questionnaire, a learning motivation questionnaire and a student career planning questionnaire. In addition, researchers also used a Likert scale model instrument. The analysis technique used is simple regression and multiple regression. The research results found that; 1) parental attention contributes significantly to student career planning, 2) learning motivation contributes significantly to student career planning, and 3) parental attention and learning motivation together contribute significantly to student career planning.

Abstract

Communication is very important in the world of work. With communication, individuals can socialize with other individuals well. But in reality, there are still many individuals who have not been able to communicate well. Vocational High School (SMK) is a secondary education that prepares students to become professional workers. Therefore, it is expected that SMKs can produce students who understand and can communicate well. Interpersonal communication is sending messages from individuals to other individuals with direct effects and feedback. This research is a research development that aims to develop guidelines to improve interpersonal communication of vocational high school students in entering into the world of work through information services. The sample selection uses purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate a material feasibility test score of 78.9 with a feasible category and expert judgment on the appearance of an appearance with an average score of 85.7 with a very feasible category. As for the practicality test an average score of 92.8 with a high category.

Abstract

The development of social media has positive and negative impacts on society, especially students. One effort to reduce addiction to the use of social media is a group guidance service using self-management techniques. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services using self-management techniques to reduce addiction to the use of social media. This study uses a pseudo experimental from the Non-Equivalent Control Group. The population in this study was Bener Meriah High School students with a sample of 18 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The results showed that the average score of addicted social media users in the experimental group average pre-test score was 216.22 in the next high category, the average post-test score decreased to 191 and in the medium category. In the control group, Before group guidance services were provided, the pre-test score averaged 219.56 in the high category. Furthermore, after being given group guidance services without using self-management techniques, the average post-test score dropped to 199 in the high category. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that group guidance services using effective self-management techniques to reduce student addiction to the use of social media.

Abstract

Academic stress is a major problem faced by students. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of information services using the problem based learning (PBL) method to reduce student academic stress. This study used a pre-experimental approach with the design of one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 20 students taken by purposive sampling technique. The instrument uses an academic stress scale developed from Aldwin's theory by measuring physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms. Analysis techniques using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that information services with the PBL method were effective in reducing student academic stress. This can be seen from the decrease in posttest scores that occurred in all students who were given information services using the PBL method.

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of development of assertive behavior of students in school. Students who have good assertive behavior can be seen from the ability of students to make decisions, able to express feelings of honesty and comfort, be able to defend themselves, be able to express opinions, and not ignore the rights of others. Factors that influence students' assertive behavior include gender and parenting parents. Assertive behavior of students in terms of male and female sex and parenting parents will be different, the difference in assertive behavior of students is influenced by several factors both internal factors and external factors. This study aims to describe and distinguish students' assertive behavior in terms of gender and parenting style and its implications in Guidance and Counseling services. The population in this study were all students in SMA N 1 Payung Sekaki Kabupaten Solok. The sampling  technique uses stratified random sampling. The instrument used is a Likert scale model. Data analysis using two-way variance analysis (ANAVA) technique.The results of data analysis show that: (1) Assertive behavior of students in terms of gender, namely men and women are in the moderate category, there are significant differences where the average score of men is higher than women, (2) Assertive behavior students in terms of parenting, namely authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative parenting, are in the moderate category, but there are no significant differences, meaning there is no difference in assertive behavior of students in terms of parenting, (3) sex and parenting style in explaining the description of student assertive behavior. The implications of the results of the research for implementing guidance and counseling are as material for consideration of the preparation of BK service programs in developing and enhancing student assertive behavior.

Abstract

Cyber-bullying is a massive phenomenon happened to students. Student cyber-bullying must be prevented because it can give a negative physical and psychological impact on the offender, audience and victim. One way that can be done to prevent student cyber-bullying is to provide an information service by using a scientific approach. The purpose of this research was to examine the effectiveness of an information service by using a scientific approach to prevent student cyber-bullying. The research method used was a quantitative research with the true experiment design pretest-posttest group design. The research sample consisted of 30 students for the experimental group and 30 students for the control group taken by using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistical analysis and non-parameteric statistics using the Kolmogorov Smirnov 2 Independent Sample analysis technique. The results of this research prove that the information service by using a scientific approach is effective in preventing student cyber-bullying.

Abstract

Good self control will lead individual to have discipline behavior. This research aims to describe the contribution of self control to students’ discipline. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The subject of the research was 275 students. Scale was used to collect the data which consist of Self Control Scale and Students’ Discipline Scale. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistic method and simple regression with SPSS version 20. The research findings shows significant contribution of self control to students’ discipline. Thus, self control gives significant impact to students’ discipline. This findings is based on data analysis which shows r score 0,590 means there is strong relationship between self control and students’ discipline.

Abstract

Pemilihan karir merupakan salah satu proses pembuatan keputusan terpenting dalam kehidupan individu. Keputusan yang ia buat akan berdampak pada apa yang akan dilalui dalam hidupnya. Pemilihan karir juga merupakan aspek kehidupan sosial seseorang yang tidak dapat terelakkan karena hal tersebut merupakan salah satu proses pembuatan keputusan setelah individu melewati beberapa tahap perkembangan dalam hidupnya. Sangat penting untuk membangun hubungan atau pencocokan antara tipe kepribadian pribadi dan pilihan karir tertentu. Pilihan dan penyesuaian karir mencerminkan kepribadian seseorang melalui enam tipe kepribadian Holland. Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data dilakukan untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang dihadapi serta untuk merancang solusi. adapun teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur. studi literatur dilakukan untuk penguatan masalah yang diangkat dalam penulisan ini. serta studi literatur solusi dalam mereduksi permasalahan yang terjadi, adapun solusi yang ditawarkan yakni perencanaan program bimbingan karir dalam meningkatkan eksplorasi karir siswa. pengolahan data dilakukan melalui penyusunan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan studi literatur. kemudian hasil penyusunan yang diperoleh diklasifikasikan berdasarkan pengelompokan tertentu yang telah dibuat dan ditentukan oleh peneliti

Abstract

Pada institusi pendidikan banyak siswa merasa bingung dengan arah pilihan karirnya. Keadaan ini disebabkan kurangnya informasi tentang karir serta pendidikan yang mendukung pada arah karir siswa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis terhadap teori Holland serta implikasinya dalam bimbingan dan konseling karir pada siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang di gunakan pada artikel ini adalah kajian Pustaka. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengkajian ini studi literatur. Data yang diperoleh dikompulasi, dianalisis dan disimpulkan sehingga mendapatkan kesimpulan mengenai teori Holland dan impiklasinya dalam bimbingan karir pada siswa Hasil kajian terhadap teori Holland memberikan arah dan padangan karir pada siswa melalui klarifikasinya berdasaran tipe kepribadian sehingga dapat memberikan pandangan dan arah karir pada siswa dalam memilih langkah karir yang sesuai dengan tipe kepribadianya terhadap minat, arah bidang studi yang sesuai serta gambaran lingkungan kerja terhadap tipe kepribadian pada siswa. Implikasi teori Holland terhadap bimbingan dan konseling karir pada siswa adalah sebagai acuan parameter kerpibadian siswa terhadap minat, bakat serta pandangan lingkungan kerja yang sesuai dalam proses bimbingan dan konseling karir pada siswa

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) menganalisis kesiapan menikah calon pengantin dan (2) tujuan bimbingan pranikah untuk meningkatkan kesiapan menikah bagi calon pengantin. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 35 pasang calon pengantin (70 orang calon pengantin) yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah “skala kesiapan menikah” dengan niai reliabilitas 0,535. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkkan kesiapan menikah calon pengantin masih tergolong rendah dan perlu ditingkatkan agar mendorong kesiapan menikah calon pengantin sehingga dapat mengurangi terjadinya perceraian. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar oleh penasehat pernikahan dalam memberikan layanan bimbingan pranikah pada calon pengantin.
