Abstract

Idiomatic phrases play a crucial role in enriching Indonesian language expression, particularly in verbal art forms such as modern song lyrics. This research aims to identify idiomatic phrases in the song "Dalam Diam" by Sal Priadi, analyze their structural formation, and describe their idiomatic meanings. This descriptive qualitative research employs observation and note-taking methods for data collection, and distributional analysis for examining data from the "Berhati" album (2020). Research findings identify six idiomatic phrases from the total comprehensive data discovered in the song lyrics, featuring diverse structures with dominant Noun + Verb + Noun (N+V+N) patterns. Idiomatic phrases are classified into six semantic categories: body and emotion metaphors, abstract personification, visual metaphors, light metaphors, nature metaphors, and sound and atmosphere metaphors. All categories contribute to conveying themes of introspection and self-contemplation. The research concludes that idiomatic phrases enhance the artistic dimension of contemporary Indonesian indie pop music and reflect modern Indonesian societal values in expressing emotional experiences through figurative language rich in symbolic meaning.

Abstract

Teachers’ performance in Islamic educational institutions is increasingly challenged by rising professional demands that require not only technical competence but also strong internal regulation and moral commitment. Self-management grounded in Islamic values offers a holistic approach to strengthening teachers’ psychological confidence and professional conduct, yet its role in shaping self-efficacy and performance has received limited scholarly attention. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic values–based self-management in enhancing teachers’ self-efficacy and professional performance within Islamic education contexts. The study employs a qualitative research design using a descriptive–analytical library research approach, drawing on primary and secondary sources such as academic books, peer-reviewed journals, and authoritative Islamic educational texts. The analysis focuses on the interrelationship between value-based self-regulation, teachers’ self-efficacy, and performance. The findings indicate that Islamic values–based self-management, characterized by amanah, sincerity, discipline, responsibility, and spiritual accountability, significantly strengthens teachers’ self-efficacy. Enhanced self-efficacy subsequently contributes to consistent instructional behavior, ethical professionalism, and sustained performance. The results suggest that teacher performance is more effectively supported through internally motivated, value-driven self-regulation than through external control mechanisms alone. The study concludes that integrating Islamic values into self-management practices provides a sustainable pathway for improving teachers’ self-efficacy and performance, offering important theoretical and practical implications for Islamic educational leadership and teacher development.

Abstract

This study examines Islamic Education teachers' strategies in overcoming difficulties in reading the Qur'an at SMP Negeri 1 Babat Toman, Musi Banyuasin Regency a school located in a disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) region with limited resources. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participatory observation (10 sessions), in-depth interviews with the principal, Islamic Education teacher, and three students, as well as documentation. The findings reveal three main themes. First, students' difficulties are multidimensional: technical (makharijul huruf, basic tajwid, reading fluency) and psychological (shyness, fear of mistakes, academic anxiety), exacerbated by minimal prior Qur'anic education experience (>60% of students never attended TPQ) and lack of family support. Second, the teacher developed adaptive-differentiated strategies: grouping students based on initial ability levels, talaqqi method for personalized correction, peer tutoring, audio murottal media and interactive letter cards, as well as joyful learning approaches. Third, strategy effectiveness was supported by teacher commitment, creativity, and school support; yet hindered by time constraints, an unfavorable teacher-student ratio (1:546), lack of specific qira'ah training, and low parental involvement. Contextual and collaborative strategies proved effective in improving students' reading ability and self-confidence despite limitations. This study recommends strengthening teacher capacity, developing contextual learning media, and multi-stakeholder synergy for program sustainability.

Abstract

Renewable energy, particularly hydropower, has become an important alternative in reducing dependence on fossil fuels. One widely used technology is the propeller turbine, which utilizes airfoil-based blade profiles to enhance the conversion of fluid energy into mechanical energy. This study aims to analyze the simulation performance of a propeller turbine with variations of NACA 5310 and NACA 6412 airfoil profiles under low-head conditions. The methodology employed is a numerical simulation based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The observed variables include flow rate, pressure distribution, rotational speed, torque, hydraulic power, mechanical power, and turbine efficiency at head variations of 3 m and 5 m. The simulation results indicate that increasing the head from 3 m to 5 m significantly increases the flow rate, torque, and mechanical power; however, the turbine efficiency decreases drastically from approximately 69–71% at a 3 m head to about 30% at a 5 m head. The NACA 6412 profile demonstrates slightly better performance than the NACA 5310 profile, particularly in terms of efficiency and torque stability. Overall, both airfoil profiles are more suitable for low-head operating conditions and therefore have strong potential for application in micro-hydro power plants.

Abstract

Geothermal solid waste is one of the byproduct materials from the geothermal energy process. The silica extracted from this solid waste can be utilized as a raw material for waterproof coatings. The waterproof or hydrophobic properties in this study have been studied with a formulation of silica, stearic acid, and dimethyl silicone oil. The technique of extracting silica from geothermal waste is carried out using the sol-gel method. Preparation of hydrophobic materials is carried out by mixing silica with stearic acid at a ratio of 1:3, 1:5, and 1:7 on a mass basis with the addition of dimethyl silicone oil as an emulsifier. The hydrophobic silica-dimethyl silicone oil-stearic acid materials were synthesized and characterized by functional group analysis using FTIR. The best hydrophobic properties are shown in a ratio of silica and stearic acid of 1:5. On a glass substrate, the silica-dimethyl silicone oil-stearic acid coating produced a contact angle of 110.2 °. On a fabric substrate, the coating exhibited a superhydrophobic phenomenon with a contact angle of 153.7 °.
