Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyzes the low ability of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Soropadan to understand important information and general messages in reading texts within the framework of the School Literacy Movement . The problem emerged from diagnostic tests showing an average comprehension score of only 61.99%, indicating limited reading understanding despite routine literacy activities. The research aims to describe students’ reading-comprehension level, identify contributing factors to the low performance, and propose an alternative solution through digital flipbook media. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, supported by test results, teacher interviews, and documentation. Data were validated using triangulation of sources and techniques, and analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that students tended to read mechanically without grasping textual meaning, mainly due to monotonous reading materials and low learning motivation. Literature analysis from five related studies confirmed that digital flipbooks effectively enhance learning outcomes, motivation, and comprehension through interactive multimedia elements combining text, images, videos, and quizzes. Consequently, the use of digital flipbooks is recommended as an innovative medium to strengthen the implementation of the School Literacy Movement, increase student engagement, and improve their ability to identify key information and main messages in reading texts. Keywords: School Literacy Movement, reading comprehension, digital flipbook, elementary education, motivation ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis rendahnya kemampuan siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Soropadan dalam memahami informasi penting dan pesan umum pada teks bacaan dalam konteks Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS). Permasalahan ini muncul berdasarkan hasil tes diagnostik yang menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pemahaman hanya 61,99%, menandakan rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman meskipun kegiatan literasi rutin telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan siswa, mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar, serta menawarkan solusi alternatif melalui penggunaan media flipbook digital. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes, wawancara guru, dan dokumentasi. Data divalidasi menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa cenderung membaca tanpa memahami isi bacaan, disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi media dan rendahnya motivasi belajar. Kajian dari lima penelitian relevan mendukung bahwa media flipbook digital efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar, motivasi, dan pemahaman melalui fitur interaktif berupa teks, gambar, video, dan kuis. Oleh karena itu, media flipbook digital direkomendasikan sebagai solusi inovatif untuk memperkuat pelaksanaan GLS dan meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami isi bacaan secara bermakna. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode Membaca Keras melalui pemanfaatan sudut baca untuk meningkatkan literasi membaca di kalangan siswa kelas dua di MIN Kudus. Latar belakang penelitian ini berasal dari pentingnya literasi membaca sebagai keterampilan dasar untuk keberhasilan akademik siswa di sekolah dasar, serta peran sudut baca dalam menciptakan lingkungan literasi yang menarik dan mudah diakses. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menggambarkan penerapan kegiatan Membaca Keras melalui sudut baca dalam meningkatkan literasi membaca siswa kelas dua. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kegiatan Membaca Keras dengan sudut baca efektif meningkatkan keterampilan membaca, pengucapan, dan pemahaman siswa, sementara juga menumbuhkan minat dan kebiasaan membaca. Lebih lanjut, kegiatan ini mendukung keberhasilan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the effect of using wayang puppet media based on folktales on the storytelling skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Sraten. The research was motivated by the low storytelling ability of students, as indicated by difficulties in delivering stories coherently, expressively, and engagingly, which are largely caused by the limited use of innovative and interactive learning media. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted of 28 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through storytelling ability tests administered before and after the implementation of the wayang puppet media and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and a one-sample t-test. The results showed a t-value of 7.440 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The students’ mean score increased from 74.07 to 82.29 after using the wayang puppet media. These findings demonstrate that the wayang puppet media based on folktales is effective in improving students’ storytelling skills across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Furthermore, the media also fosters learning motivation, creativity, and appreciation of local culture within the context of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya keterampilan bercerita siswa yang ditandai dengan kesulitan dalam menyampaikan cerita secara runtut, ekspresif, dan menarik, yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 28 siswa kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan bercerita sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media boneka wayang cerita rakyat, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan One Sample t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-hitung sebesar 7,440 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 74,07 menjadi 82,29 setelah penggunaan media boneka wayang. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media boneka wayang cerita rakyat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita siswa dari aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor. Selain itu, media ini juga mampu menumbuhkan motivasi belajar, kreativitas, serta rasa apresiasi terhadap budaya lokal dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar. Abstract

This study aims to further explore effective efforts to enhance students’ literacy motivation, particularly in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. This research employed a systematic literature review method, analyzing national accredited (Sinta-indexed) and international scholarly publications published between 2021 and 2025. The analysis involved identifying, evaluating, and interpreting relevant studies to construct a comprehensive synthesis of current literacy practices. The findings reveal five major strategic approaches: (1) strengthening daily literacy programs through reflective and follow-up activities; (2) implementing project-based and collaborative literacy learning; (3) integrating local cultural content to build emotional relevance and character values; (4) utilizing interactive digital media such as digital storytelling and pop-up books; and (5) fostering collaboration among schools, families, and literacy communities. Within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum, these strategies align with the development of the Pancasila Student Profile, emphasizing independence, creativity, and critical reasoning.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review several studies related to reading ability and vocabulary mastery in Indonesian language learning at elementary schools. Reading ability and vocabulary mastery are the main foundations of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. The three previous studies show that card-based media, including word cards, flashcards, and picture word cards, have a positive effect on improving students' basic literacy skills. This article aims to review and compare previous research on the use of card media in learning Bahasa Indonesia at elementary schools and proposes the development of digital word card comics as an alternative medium that is more interactive and contextual. The research method used was a literature review of three empirical articles and other relevant supporting sources. The study results indicate that card media is effective in improving students' reading skills and vocabulary mastery, but it remains conventional. Therefore, digital word card comic media is proposed as an innovative form of 21st-century learning media that integrates text, images, and audio in a digital context.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning motivation of students in accounting subjects. The study aims to develop Android-based learning media using MIT App Inventor that is feasible, practical, effective, and can improve learning motivation of grade XI AKL students at SMK Negeri 1 Medan. This development research used the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) and involved 32 students of class XI AKL 1 in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The media was validated by material experts (98%), media experts (90%), and practitioner experts (95%). Student responses showed the media was effective (82%). Motivation improvement was proven through a t-test, with t-count = 29.149 > t-table = 2.0395 and Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05. The developed media includes interactive content accessible via Android, facilitating independent and engaging learning. The results confirm that the Android-based learning media assisted by MIT App Inventor is feasible, effective, and significantly increases students' motivation in learning financial accounting, particularly on fixed asset material

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media KARMETA dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi imbuhan me- di kelas IV SDN Karangrejo. Latar belakang penelitian muncul dari permasalahan rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap perubahan fonologis pada imbuhan me- sehingga siswa sering salah dalam menentukan bentuk imbuhan yang tepat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental tipe One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Seluruh siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 13 orang dijadikan sampel melalui teknik sampling jenuh. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan signifikan pada nilai rata-rata siswa, dari 65,85 pada saat pretest menjadi 84,77 pada posttest. Uji normalitas menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal, sedangkan uji paired sample t-test menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media KARMETA efektif membantu siswa memahami proses afiksasi secara lebih konkret dan interaktif. Dengan demikian, media KARMETA terbukti mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa serta layak digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran pada materi morfologi di sekolah dasar.
