Abstract

Female adolescents are at increased risk for anemia since their iron needs peak between the ages of 14 and 15. Youth iron deficiency can lead to serious health problems, including anemia. One student in a group of nine reported having a hemoglobin (Hb) level of 12, and the other four reported experiencing fatigue, weakness, difficulty focusing in class, and other symptoms of anemia. The purpose of this study is to learn how exposure to the media shown in Exploding Box affects young women's self-control and decision-making when consuming dietary supplements. Method: This study has a pre-experimental design with a single-group pre- and post-test. In this study, we used a completely random sample of participants. Students from grades 10, 12, and 15 at MTs Al- Muhajirin Loa Janan make up the study's sample population. Female students fill kuesioners, and male researchers use lembar observatories to compile the data. SPSS is used for both univariate and bivariate data analysis. Research shows that both before and after receiving the intervention, the media explosion box had a significant impact on knowledge (p0,000) and respondent accuracy (p0,003). What this means is that young women at MTs Al- Muhajirin Loa Janan are more knowledgeable about and more likely to follow guidelines for taking tablet supplements of blood. Conclusions Based on research and analysis, it can be concluded that the media's influence on young women's knowledge of and behavior surrounding tablet consumption of added blood sugar is real. The hope is that this media explosion box will serve as a resource for raising awareness and encouraging action among young women to prevent anemia.

Abstract

Procurement of laboratory equipment through operational cooperation is increasingly adopted by hospitals as a cost-effective and efficient strategy to support health services. This study examines the success of operational cooperation in procuring hematology analyzer equipment to replace damaged units, using a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) from the perspective of hospital management. Employing a sequential explanatory mixed-method approach, the study combined qualitative data from in-depth interviews with 12 purposively selected informants and observations, with quantitative analysis of secondary data using the CBA method. The analysis revealed a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 99,422,367.47 and a Benefit-Cost (B/C) ratio of 1.59, both exceeding the benchmarks of independent procurement. This indicates that operational cooperation is financially feasible and preferable. Non-financial benefits also strengthen this conclusion, including vendor-provided maintenance technicians, guaranteed supply of reagents and spare parts, and ongoing equipment upgrades aligned with technological advancements. These advantages minimize hospital disruptions and ensure service continuity. The study identifies key success determinants in the operational cooperation system: cost efficiency, human resources, regulatory compliance, vendor partnerships, equipment quality, historical laboratory data, and alignment with technological developments. In conclusion, operational cooperation for hematology analyzers is successful, sustainable, and offers significant benefits, both financial and operational, for hospitals.

Abstract

The nursing staff at M. Zein Painan Regional Hospital is experiencing an excess number of nurses which has a major impact on the hospital. Causing an increase in the burden of expenses and not having a function and maximum in improving the quality of service at the Hospital. The purpose of this study was to calculate the workload with the work sampling formula and calculate the need for nursing staff with the Ilyas method. This study was conducted starting in August 2024 using the mixed-methods method. The results of qualitative research showed that the nursing workload method system in the inpatient installation of M.Zein Painan Regional Hospital was not structured and the workload given to nurses did not match the number of nurses available. This is reinforced by the results of quantitative research on each inpatient installation at M.Zein Painan Regional Hospital with the Work Sampling method, the nurse's workload was relatively light. The number of nurses with the Ilyas Method found an excess of 43 nurses. The Hospital can carry out employee efficiency and effectiveness at M.Zein Painan Regional Hospital. It is hoped that this research can be the basis for a method for calculating the need for nursing staff at Class C Regional Hospitals.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasize the reduction of the maternal mortality rate (MMR) to 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030. Despite various efforts, the MMR in Indonesia, including in Kerinci Regency, remains high. Integrated Antenatal Care (ANC) has become a key strategy in reducing maternal mortality. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of integrated ANC services in Kerinci Regency and to explore the influencing factors, including aspects of policy, input, process, and output. This research employed a qualitative approach. Informants included the Regent, Head of the District Health Office, and health workers from community health centers (Puskesmas) with the highest and lowest ANC coverage, those contributing to maternal mortality cases, and those with no reported cases. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document review. The findings revealed that there is no specific policy regarding integrated ANC services. Implementation is hindered by a shortage of trained medical personnel and the absence of dedicated funding. The service delivery process does not fully adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and remains largely top-down in planning, although coordination among health workers is relatively strong. While pregnant women reported high levels of satisfaction, the coverage of key ANC indicators (K1 and K5) remains suboptimal. In conclusion, the implementation of integrated ANC services in Kerinci Regency remains suboptimal due to various constraints in policy, input, process, and output components. This study highlights the need for short- to long-term interventions and provides in-depth insights into the challenges of implementing integrated ANC in resource-limited settings.  Keywords: Antenatal Care, Health Policy, Maternal Mortality, Program Evaluation  ABSTRAK Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) menekankan penurunan angka kematian ibu (AKI) 70/100.000 kelahiran hidup pada tahun 2030.

Abstract

Stunting is a linear growth failure caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections that mainly occur in the first 1000 days of life. Infectious diseases can be prevented by providing immunizations. Immunization is one way to increase one's immunity against disease exposure actively. Objective: To determined the relation of immunization status with the incidence of stunting in children. Methods: Analytical research with a case-control design on 98 under-five children in the working area of Andalas Health Center was conducted from June to November 2024. Sampling was done by simple random sampling. Anthropometry was measured using body length or height measurements according to standards and data were collected by questionnaire. The data analysis used was Chi-square. Results: The incidence of stunting in the working area of Andalas Health Center was mainly (89.8%) experienced by children aged 24 - 59 months and more than half (59.2%) were female and most (81.6%) had an incomplete basic immunization status. The study also found that more than half (59.2%) of mothers' education in stunted children was high school and most (81.6%) occurred in mothers who did not work. There is a statistically significant relation between immunization status and the incidence of stunting in children, with p = 0.027 (p value <0.05) and OR value = 3.065. Conclusion: This means that under-five children who do not have complete basic immunization status have a 3.065 times higher chance of stunting than under-five children with complete basic immunization status.
