Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) is a student's vessel in the application of science that has been obtained in lectures to apply to society.Student devotion needs to see the problems that society is facing then solves innovatively.Helping educators in society is one of the things that can be done, By focusing on guiding the addition of the students memorabilia in TPA/TPQ Mushala Al-Muhklisin, Kelurahan Bungus Barat, Kecamatan Teluk Kabung, Kota Padang. The subject of research is the entire protege in TPA/TPQ Mushala Al-Muhklisin.This research uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach that aims to describe the al-Qur'an read and memorized methods that have been applied.The results of activities show an increased child's ability after giving a motivation or giving a meaning to the final goal of a disciple need to add to their memorization.

Abstract

Sampah hingga kini menjadi masalah utama di Kelurahan Bungus Barat, apalagi sampah plastik. Upaya pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam permasalahan ini sangat diperlukan. Namun edukasi mengenai permasalahan sampah plastik masih kurang di Kelurahan Bungus Barat. Oleh karena itu diperlukan cara khusus agar edukasi ini bisa berjalan yaitu dengan cara melakukan Workshop. Selain itu, diperlukan pendekatan khusus agar edukasi di sekolah dapat beriringan dengan edukasi di sekitar lingkungan sekolah dan di lingkungan rumah. Salah satu cara yang diusulkan adalah melalui kegiatan pengabdian “Workshop Pengelolaan Sampah Plastik Menjadi Polybag”. Solusi yang ditawarkan melalui usulan ini adalah dengan mengadakan sosialisasi dan pendampingan berupa pembuatan polybag dari sampah plastik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pencapaian tujuan tersebut, terbagi atas: tahap audiensi dan tahap sosialisasi, tahap praktek, dan tahap evaluasi hasil kerja siswa. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, adalah: (1) siswa memahami bagaimana dampak, Upaya, serta pengelolaan sampah yang sesuai SNI, (2) siswa mampu mengembangkan kreativitas dengan memanfaatkan sampah plastik menjadi barang yang berguna yaitu polybag.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk lebih mengenal masyarakat setempat dan ikut membaur bersama masyarakat serta mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan tanaman rempah untuk kehidupan sehari-hari. Dipilihnya topik ini karena merupakan topik yang jarang di bahas dan jarang di teliti lebih dalam mengenai taman rempah. Padahal jika di ulas lebih dalam taman rempah banyak sekali memberikan manfaat bagi kehidupan, salah satu nya dibidang kesehatan. Selain di bidang kesehatan taman rempah juga dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber penghasilan bagi masyarakat. Dengan menaman dengan jumlah yang besar lalu dijual di pasaran dengan harga dan kualitas yang bagus. Pentingnya topik ini untuk dibahas adalah agar masyarakat semakin peduli terhadap rempah-rempah dibandingkan obat-obatan kimia. Metode yang kami gunakan yaitu dengan melakukan proyek berupa pembuatan taman rempah dimana setiap warga setempat bisa mengambil dan melihat taman rempah tersebut. Hasil kegiatan ini diharapkan mendorong masyarakat untuk mengetahui betapa pentingnya tanaman rempah baik untuk kesehatan atau pun dari aspek lainnya

Abstract

The increasing amount of waste presents an ongoing challenge in today's society. Inadequate mindsets, attitudes and behavior in waste management can create additional challenges that include social, environmental and health problems. From an environmental perspective, water systems can be adversely impacted, causing water pollution and flooding due to inappropriate waste disposal practices during periods of heavy rain. The decline in water quality around the bridge and both banks of the Sibungus River is getting worse. One factor that contributes to environmental degradation is the dumping of waste into rivers, a practice often carried out by individuals who live or carry out activities along riverbanks. Therefore, it is very important for individuals who live or carry out activities near rivers to prioritize reducing waste discharge into these water bodies. Current efforts to mitigate river pollution from waste are still limited, and this situation is further exacerbated by weak enforcement of environmental regulations against those responsible for pollution. Therefore, to maintain good water environmental conditions, mitigating river pollution due to waste requires extensive and comprehensive efforts. Government policies must actively encourage the implementation of the 3R approach in waste management, which includes the principles of reduction, transformation and disposal.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi validitas pengembangan modul Tata Tulis Karya Ilmiah dan Seminar model kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bersifat semu. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 67 mahasiswa. Jenis data yang dipakai berupa data primer yang disebarkan kepada dosen ahli. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa kuesioner. Teknik analisis data penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan modul kuliah Tata Tulis Karya Ilmiah dan Seminar model kooperatif tipe jigsaw. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada aspek validasi materi adalah 0,97 dengan kategori valid, Hasil validasi format adalah 0,93 dengan kategori valid, Hasil validasi penyajian adalah 0,89 dengan kategori valid. Rata-rata hasil validasi modul Tata Tulis Karya Ilmiah dan Seminar berbasis kooperatif tipe jigsaw yaitu 0,93 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul Tata Tulis Karya Ilmiah dan Seminar model kooperatif tipe jigsaw yaitu valid untuk digunakan sebagai modul pembelajaran.

Abstract

This paper presents a systematic literature review of published research on the use of areca nut bark fibres as a reinforcing material in polymer composites. A total of 22 research articles published in Scopus-indexed journals were identified and analysed in depth. In addition, this article presents current issues related to areca nut husk fibre (ANHF) as a reinforcement in composites using the VOSviewer tool. In this article, the authors explains the processing stages of ANHF before it is used as a reinforcement in composites. The chemical treatments carried out are also summarised in this article. Not all types of resins available on the market have been used as matrix in the manufacture of areca nut shell fibre composites. The use of additives derived from natural materials has also been found to be effective in improving the quality of ANHF composites. This article also highlights the need for further research to improve the quality of areca nut husk fibre composites and discusses the unanswered aspects of the published research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) on the bend testing results of low carbon steel welding joints. The results of this study are expected to determine the cracks that occur from the root bend and face bend testings in the AC and DC welding process. This study used experimental method, where the research was done by giving AC and direct polarity DC (DC-) SMAW welding treatments. The material used in this research was low carbon steel plate DIN 17100 Grade ST 44, thickness 10 with E7016 electrode type. The process of welding joints used a single V seam, strong current of 90A, and the welding position of 1G. The testing of welding joints was carried out by bend testing using the standard acceptance of AWS D1.1 root bend and face bend testing results. The results of the bend testing showed that the AC welding root bend test specimen held no cracks while the DC welding root bend test held cracks with incompelete penetration and open crack defects. On the contrary, the AC welding face bend test had open crack defects and in the DC welding face bend test was found a crack. Thus, there was a difference in the crack resistance of the welding joint from the types of current used through the root bend test and face bend test. Therefore, it can be summarized that AC welding is better for root welding and DC welding is good for capping welding.

Abstract

The surface roughness quality of machining product plays important role when it contacted with other machine components. That quality depends on several parameters setting, such as material, cutting tool, cutting condition and operator skill. The aim of this study is to obtain the optimum setting of turning parameters by using Taguchi method. Three control factors: cutting speed, depth of cut, and feeding at three different levels are selected. A series CNC turning process on AISI 1045 material were performed using L9 (3)3 orthogonal array with cutting fluid. Insert carbide cutting tool is used in the experiment. In order to reveal the optimum machining parameter, smaller the better is quality characteristic selected for surface roughness examination of workpiece. Analysis of experiment results revealed that higher cutting speed, low feed, low depth of cut respectively, provides fine surface quality of machined workpiece. Moreover, feed f parameter was found most influence to the surface rougness quality with 53.73% contribution, cutting speed v provides 23.28% contribution, and depth of cut a provides 17.87% contribution. Confirmation experiment shows that level 3 of cutting speed, level 2 of cutting depth, and level 1 of feed deliver smoothest machined surface of Ra 0,46 µm.

Abstract

Currently, an influential factor contributing to thermal comfort home design is the incorporation of energy-efficient passive design principles. It is exemplified by strategic window placement, the utilization of thermally efficient materials, and effective insulation. It exerts a substantial influence on thermal comfort and electrical consumption. This paper examines the effect of building shape and window-to-wall ratio (WWR) on thermal comfort and lighting energy consumption in residential houses in tropical climates. The lighting electricity and the adaptive thermal discomfort hours of 30 different models of houses were obtained using OpenStudio and EnergyPlus simulation software. The models were developed for three building shapes (square, rectangle, and L-shaped), and each model was varied in five models of window-to-wall ratios. Results indicate that the square-shaped model with a WWR of 10% will provide the lowest energy consumption in thermal comfort had 420.45 kWh/m2. On the other side, the lowest energy consumption in lighting is the square-shaped model with a WWR of 50% had 507.95 kWh/m2. Thus, the recommendation is to use the square-shaped house that represents the most efficient air conditioning system while the other WWR set also produce the most natural luminaire. It is because the percentage of WWR increased will result in more energy consumption in air cooling but slightly lower energy consumption in lighting. However, when considering aesthetics and freshness, the WWR of the 50% model will offer a better deal.

Abstract

Flip HTML 5-based e-modules are a form of presenting material using smartphone and internet technology that can be used as an independent learning resource with a practical and easy-to-operate display. This study aims to analyze the development of learning media based on flip html 5 in lathe machining technique subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. This type of research is development research or also known as R&D (Research and Development). This research uses the ADDIE development procedure. The data collection technique used a questionnaire to obtain information about the quality of the E-Module product developed in the form of a validation sheet. The instrument used by researchers in this development research is a validation guideline. From the results of the validation and practicality questionnaire, it can be concluded that the product based on Project Based Learning in the subject of Lathe Machining class XI Vocational High School is very feasible to use.
