Abstract

The main problem in this research is: How does learning motivation using the Project Based Learning Model affect learning outcomes in Class XI PKK subjects at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. The aim of this research was designed to: measure the influence of learning motivation using the Project Based Learning model on learning outcomes in Class XI PKK subjects at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. In this research, researchers used quantitative research methods, namely correlational research. Correlational research is research used to find out the magnitude of the relationship between variables. The sample for the research carried out was 31 students in the Class XI PKK subject at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This research aims to measure the influence of learning motivation using the Project-Based Learning model on learning outcomes, using questionnaire instruments and test sheets that are filled in before and after being given treatment. Descriptive analysis shows that the average student learning motivation score is in the high category, while the average learning outcomes are in the good category. Correlation between Learning Motivation and Learning Outcomes: The correlation value of 0.963 is greater than the r table of 0.355, which shows that there is a significant positive relationship between students' Learning Motivation and their learning outcomes. The conclusion from this research is that students' learning motivation has a significant relationship to their learning outcomes in implementing the Project-Based Learning model. Student learning motivation is proven to have a greater influence on learning outcomes.

Abstract

Currently, an influential factor contributing to thermal comfort home design is the incorporation of energy-efficient passive design principles. It is exemplified by strategic window placement, the utilization of thermally efficient materials, and effective insulation. It exerts a substantial influence on thermal comfort and electrical consumption. This paper examines the effect of building shape and window-to-wall ratio (WWR) on thermal comfort and lighting energy consumption in residential houses in tropical climates. The lighting electricity and the adaptive thermal discomfort hours of 30 different models of houses were obtained using OpenStudio and EnergyPlus simulation software. The models were developed for three building shapes (square, rectangle, and L-shaped), and each model was varied in five models of window-to-wall ratios. Results indicate that the square-shaped model with a WWR of 10% will provide the lowest energy consumption in thermal comfort had 420.45 kWh/m2. On the other side, the lowest energy consumption in lighting is the square-shaped model with a WWR of 50% had 507.95 kWh/m2. Thus, the recommendation is to use the square-shaped house that represents the most efficient air conditioning system while the other WWR set also produce the most natural luminaire. It is because the percentage of WWR increased will result in more energy consumption in air cooling but slightly lower energy consumption in lighting. However, when considering aesthetics and freshness, the WWR of the 50% model will offer a better deal.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Engineering subject among eleventh-grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This issue was caused by limited learning resources, the use of overly simplistic learning media, and conventional teaching methods. This study aimed to develop learning media in the form of a pocketbook based on Google Sites integrated via QR Codes, as well as to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed media. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the 4-D development model, which consists of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects included material expert validators, media expert validators, subject teachers, and eleventh-grade Mechanical Engineering students. Data collection techniques involved validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest instruments. The data were analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, t-tests, and N-Gain scores. The results indicated that the Google Sites-based pocketbook learning media integrated via QR Codes was declared valid based on evaluations from material and media experts, practical based on feedback from teachers and students, and effective in improving student learning outcomes in SMAW engineering for the 1G position. Consequently, the developed learning media is deemed feasible for use as a supporting learning resource in SMAW Welding Engineering instruction at vocational high schools. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pengelasan SMAW kelas XI Jurusan Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Permasalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh keterbatasan sumber belajar, penggunaan media pembelajaran yang masih sederhana, serta metode pembelajaran yang masih bersifat konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa buku saku berbasis Google Sites yang terintegrasi melalui QR Code serta mengetahui tingkat validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektivitas media yang dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4-D yang terdiri dari tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari validator ahli materi, validator ahli media, guru mata pelajaran, serta peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket validitas, angket praktikalitas, serta tes pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, homogenitas, uji-t, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran buku saku berbasis Google Sites yang terintegrasi melalui QR Code dinyatakan valid berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi dan ahli media, praktis berdasarkan tanggapan guru dan peserta didik, serta efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi pengelasan SMAW posisi 1G. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar pendukung pada pembelajaran Teknik Pengelasan SMAW di SMK.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of Grade X Welding Engineering students in the Fundamentals of Welding Engineering and Metal Fabrication course at SMK Negeri 1 Sumbar were influenced by a learning process that remained dominated by the lecture method, resulting in students being less active and motivated to participate in learning. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model and analyze its effect on students’ learning outcomes. The study employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample included all 35 Grade X LAS students at SMK Negeri 1 Sumbar. Data were collected using a learning achievement test that had been assessed for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminating power. The data were analyzed through normality and homogeneity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the mean posttest score was 83.86, which was higher than the mean pretest score of 61.20. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05; therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted at a significance level of α = 0.05. These findings indicated a significant difference in learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model. Thus, the guided inquiry learning model had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of Grade X LAS students in the Fundamentals of Welding Engineering and Metal Fabrication course at SMK Negeri 1 Sumbar. The implementation of this model can serve as an alternative learning approach that promotes student activeness and improves learning achievement in vocational education.

Abstract

Workshop facilities and learning motivation are important factors in supporting the success of practical learning, particularly in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) subject at vocational high schools. This study aimed to analyze the effects of workshop facilities and learning motivation, both partially and simultaneously, on the learning outcomes of eleventh-grade Machining Engineering students in the SMAW subject at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involved a population of 53 eleventh-grade Machining Engineering students from classes XI TP 1 and XI TP 2. Data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, and observation and were then analyzed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The results showed that workshop facilities had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes, with a calculated t-value of 9.672 and the regression equation Y = −28.155 + 1.720X₁. Learning motivation also had a significant effect on learning outcomes, with a calculated t-value of 9.378 and the regression equation Y = 28.32 + 10.61X₂. Simultaneously, workshop facilities and learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.724 and the regression equation Y = 23.878 + 1.009X₁ + 0.578X₂. These findings confirm that adequate workshop facilities and high learning motivation jointly contribute to improving students’ learning outcomes in SMAW welding instruction. The implications of this study indicate the need for schools to improve the provision of practical facilities and foster students’ motivation through contextual and participatory learning strategies.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between talent and interest in CNC machine programming skills in grade XI students of Mechanical Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. The problems addressed in this study are the low talent of students in CNC programming, the low interest of students in participating in learning and doing CNC programming tasks, and the students' skills in developing and implementing CNC programs are not optimal. This study aims to find out the relationship between talent and interest in CNC machine programming skills. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. This study involved 60 students of grade XI TPM 1 and XI TPM 2, where the entire population was sampled using the total sampling technique. The instrument consists of a questionnaire for talents and interests as well as a rubric of CNC machining programming skills assessment. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis tests using product moment correlation and multiple correlation. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between talent (r = 0.912; p < 0.05) and interest (r = 0.928; p < 0.05) with CNC machining programming skills. Simultaneously, talent and interest had a positive and significant relationship with CNC machine programming skills (R = 0.941; R² = 0.885). Thus, talents and interests play an important role in improving students' skills. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan antara bakat dan minat terhadap keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC pada siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya bakat siswa dalam pemrograman CNC, rendahnya minat siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dan mengerjakan tugas pemrograman CNC, serta keterampilan siswa dalam menyusun dan menerapkan program CNC belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara bakat dan minat terhadap keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan 60 siswa kelas XI TPM 1 dan XI TPM 2, dimana seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen terdiri dari angket untuk bakat dan minat serta rubrik penilaian keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji prasyarat, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan korelasi product moment serta korelasi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan positif dan signifikan antara bakat (r = 0,912; p < 0,05) maupun minat (r = 0,928; p < 0,05) dengan keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC. Secara simultan, bakat dan minat memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap keterampilan pemrograman mesin CNC (R = 0,941; R² = 0,885). Dengan demikian, bakat dan minat berperan penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan siswa.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the low interest of vocational high school (SMK) students in pursuing higher education, particularly among students of the Machining Engineering Program at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. The study aimed to examine the influence of self-potential and family environment, both partially and simultaneously, on students' interest in continuing their studies to higher education. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using a saturated sampling technique involving 118 tenth- and eleventh-grade students. Data were collected through a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson Product-Moment correlation and multiple correlation with SPSS 23.0. The findings revealed that self-potential had a positive and very strong influence on students' interest in pursuing higher education (r = 0.806, p < 0.001), while the family environment also demonstrated a positive and very strong influence (r = 0.968, p < 0.001). Simultaneously, self-potential and family environment significantly influenced students' interest in pursuing higher education, with a multiple correlation coefficient of R = 0.826 and a contribution of 68.2%. These findings indicate that strengthening students' self-potential, supported by a conducive family environment, plays a crucial role in enhancing their intention to continue to higher education. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, and students is essential to strengthen students' readiness and motivation for higher education. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) untuk melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi, khususnya pada Program Keahlian Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 1 Padang. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh potensi diri dan lingkungan keluarga, baik secara parsial maupun simultan, terhadap minat siswa melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik sampling jenuh yang melibatkan 118 siswa kelas X dan XI. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert yang telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan korelasi Product Moment dan korelasi berganda dengan bantuan SPSS 23.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi diri berpengaruh positif dan sangat kuat terhadap minat melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi (r = 0,806; p < 0,001), sedangkan lingkungan keluarga juga memberikan pengaruh positif dan sangat kuat (r = 0,968; p < 0,001). Secara simultan, potensi diri dan lingkungan keluarga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat melanjutkan studi dengan koefisien korelasi berganda sebesar R = 0,826 dan kontribusi sebesar 68,2%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan potensi diri yang didukung oleh lingkungan keluarga yang kondusif berperan penting dalam mendorong minat siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi. Oleh karena itu, sinergi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan siswa diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kesiapan dan motivasi melanjutkan pendidikan pada jenjang yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Kekuatan sambungan hasil pengelasan pengaruhi oleh beberapa factor salah satunya adalah ayunan elektroda. Ayunan elektroda memiliki fungsi yang sama yaitu untuk menyambungkan kedua sisi baja dengan diberi penetrasi disaat elektroda mencair, tetapi setiap ayunan elektroda memiliki kekuatan sambungan yang berbeda. Tujuan penilian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi ayunan terhadap sambungan las SMAW pada baja 1.0038. Metode yang digunakan dalam penilitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Penilitian ini menggunakan jenis sambungan kampuh V, Variasi ayunan yang digunakan yaitu ayunan spiral, segitiga, dan zig zag. Spesimen yang digunakan adalah plat baja 1.0038 dengan ketebalan 8 mm serta menggunakan elektroda E7018 diameter 3,2 mm. Arus yang digunakan yaitu 80 A dalam pengelasan filler dan capping, 60 A untuk pembuatan root. Hasil penilitian ini adalah spesimen kontrol memiliki hasil rata-rata tegangan 446,2 N/Mm2, regangan 32 %, modulus elastisitas 1,40 Kn/Mm2, baja dengan ayunan spiral memiliki hasil 438,9 N/Mm2, 28,06 %, 1,57 Kn/Mm2, ayunan segitiga 441,73 N/Mm2, 26,93 %, 1,64 Kn/Mm2, ayunan zig-zag 444,4 N/Mm2, 27,3 %, 1,63 Kn/Mm2. Sambungan hasil pengelasan didominasi oleh variasi ayunan, kuat arus, akurasi pengelasan, penembusan dan polaritas listrik. Variasi ayunan dalam penyambungan logam mempengaruhi efisiensi pekerjaan dan bahan las. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pengelasan dengan menggunakan ayunan zig-zag menghasilkan nilai kekuatan tarik yang paling tinggi dari seluruh spesimen pengujian yang diberi perlakuan pengelasan yaitu 444,4 N/Mm2 serta hasil penetrasi yang baik.

Abstract

Kekuatan dari sambungan pengelasan dipengaruhi beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah posisi pengelasan. Posisi pengelasan memiliki fungsi yaitu pengaturan posisi atau letak gerakan elektroda las, tetapi setiap posisi pengelasan digunakan bergantung pada benda kerja yang akan dilas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh posisi pengelasan terhadap sambungan las Shield Metal Arc Welding baja 1.0038. Metode yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Penelitian ini sambungan kampuh V digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan ayunan zig zag. Spesimen.yang dipakai adalah ST37 1.0038 dengan tebal 8 mm dan elektroda yang digunakan E7018 dengan diameter 3,2 mm. Arus yang dipakai adalah 95 A untuk pengelasan capping dan filler, pembuatan root 60 A. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah spesimen kontrol memiliki rata-rata tegangan 344 N/mm2, regangan 30,33 %, modulus elastisitas 1,14 Kn/mm2, baja dengan posisi 1G memiliki hasil 352,86 N/mm2, 22,66 %, 1,55 Kn/mm2, posisi 2G 343,8 N/mm2, 25,33 %, 1,37 Kn/mm2, posisi 3G 345,06 N/mm2, 22,66 %, 1,52 Kn/mm2 posisi 4G 343,06 N/mm2, 24 %, 1,43 Kn/mm2. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah Proses pengelasan menggunakan posisi pengelasan 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G dan elektroda E7018 dengan diameter 3,2 mm akan mempengaruhi kekuatan tarik hasil pengelasan baja karbon rendah. Spesimen yang mendapatkan perlakuan pengelasan memiliki kekuatan tarik yang merata. Hal ini menandakan bahwa posisi pengelasan yang paling sesuai untuk proses pengelasan plat dengan ketebalan material 8 mm adalah dengan menggunakan posisi 1G.

Abstract

Masa pandemic .Covid-19 mengharuskan pelaksanaan pembelajaran di sekolah secara Daring (Dalam Jaringan) atau jarak jauh. Sekolah SMK N 1 Pariaman telah melaksanakan pembelajaran jarak jauh selama masa pandemi.=.Siswa kelas X membutuhkan arahan atau motivasi dalamm belajar agar pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh dapat berjalan efektif. Alat ukur keberhasilan siswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan belajar ditunjukan dari prestasiibbelajar. Banyak siswa yang mengalami penurunan hasil belajar yang ditunjukan dari skor (Nilai) yang didapati siswa. Tujuan Research ini mendeskripsikan motivasi dan hasil belajar serta mengetahui tingkat hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Populasi berjumlah 67 siswa dari kelas X jurusan Teknik Mekanik Industri dan anggota populasi menjadi sampel keseluruhan atau disebut total sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif korelasional yaitu mengetahui hubungan antara variabel yang berbeda. Data dari variabel dependent didapati melalui Angket (Questionnaire) dan rata-rata nilaiii ulangan harian semester 1 siswa tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Analisis data penelitian menunjukan motivasi belajar berada pada kategori tinggi dengan nilai mean sebesar 87.89 dan hasil belajar di kategori sedang dengan nilai mean sebesar 70.81. Output SPSS menunjukan nilai Corralate (r) atau rhitung sebesar 0,255>0,240 rtabel dan nilai signifikan diperoleh 0,37 pada taraf 5%. Artinya adanya hubungan positif dan signifikansi antara variabel motivasi belajar dan variabel hasillb belajar selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh dan berada pada tingkat korelasi yang rendah.
