Abstract

Batang Gadis River, located in Mandailing Natal, faces a severe threat by the increase of human activities along the river. The fish community, as well as other biotas, is exposed to reducing environmental condition. Therefore, the study of fish community in this river is essential to get the most recent condition as a baseline data. The purpose of this research was to determine the species diversity of fish in Batang Gadis River of Mandailing Natal. This research used a descriptive exploratory method by surveying with purposive sampling method to collect samples at four specified stations. This study used a fishing net with a zig-zag pattern of sampling covered the river bank for about 200–300m at each observation station. The collected fish samples were identified at the Biology Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan. This study found ten species of fish from five families. The family with the most significant members was Cyprinidae (6 species), and the other families, Bagridae, Clariidae, Nemachelidae, and Loricariidae, were found with only one species. The species diversity comprised of Rasbora lateristriata, Nemacheilus fasciatus, Mystacoleucus marginatus, Tor tambra, Cyprinus carpio, Clarias bathracus, Rasbora argyrotaenia , Barbonymus gonionotus, Puntius binotatus, Bagrus nemurus, and Pterygoplichthys pardalis. The fish population of Batang Gadis River has diversity index (H’) of 1.77 and similarity index (E) of 0.77.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the river water quality in terms of the spread of heavy metals found from the gold mining in Batang Gadis Mandailing Natal River and to determine the effect of heavy metal distribution on river flow from the gold mining of aquatic biota on the Batang Gadis Mandailing Natal River. This research uses descriptive exploratory method by conducting a survey first. Determination of sampling sites using purposive sampling method at the two stations that are determined. Sampling of water and sediments from each location. Water samples were taken as much as 500 mL, samples of sediment were taken at a depth of 10-15 cm from the base surface as much as 100-200 g (Mann, 1978). Examples of water biota are randomly taken at each station as much as 50-100 g, then put together into a composite sample for further analysis in the laboratory. Water quality is measured insitu include temperature, brightness, turbidity, depth, current speed, pH, DO, CO2. While the COD sample, BOD was taken to the laboratory to be analyzed by preservation using ice at a temperature of around 4 oC before observing in the UMTS biology laboratory. Data obtained, then analyzed descriptively. The results of this study are the levels of heavy metals found in the two Batang Gadis River observation stations that are equally good in water, sediment and those found in fish, namely Hg <0,0008, Cd <0,003 and Pb <0,005. Metal levels found are still below the threshold value, but need to be aware of the accumulation of these metals. The histological observations of crisp fish gills at the Bustak mine station are found to experience edema and necrosis which are strongly suspected to be caused by pollution of heavy metals found in the Batang Gadis River. Abstract

The role of food additives (BTP), especially preservatives, is becoming increasingly important in line with technological advances in the production of synthetic food additives. Preservatives are used to preserve food that is easily damaged. Lately with many found food products such as tofu, meatballs, noodles and snacks of school children containing harmful chemicals that cause people to be careful in consuming these types of foods. The food is often sold in the school environment by food vendors and sold freely in the community. The majority of school food snacks (PJAS) throughout 2010 still contain hazardous chemicals. As a result of almost every year still found some schoolchildren, especially at the elementary level, experiencing food poisoning. The number of PJAS containing hazardous materials is reflected from the supervision of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). In this case, devotees have provided direction and counselling about healthy snacks and simple test of snack test containing formalin and borax conducted in workshop activity. The target of this activity is the teachers and elementary school children at SDN 200201 Padangsidimpuan. The number of extension participants is 90 people consisting of teachers and students. The place of execution of activities carried out in SDN 200101 Padangsidimpuan. The implementation method used an experimental method and mentoring. With this activity is expected to provide information and hazard knowledge of chemical content in foods, especially formalin and borax to create a healthy and quality generation.Keywords: Healthy snacks, formalin, borax

Abstract

Desa Hutanamale, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal selama ini mengembangkan berbagai tanaman hortilkura. Salah satu tanaman itu adalah kubis yang tumbuh subur di desa yang berada kaki Gunung Sorik Marapi. Seperti beberapa jenis sayuran lainnya, kubis memiliki sifat mudah rusak, berpola produksi musiman dan tidak tahan disimpan lama. Kondisi seperti ini tentu saja merugikan petani sebagai produsen kubis. Insektisida atau pestisida kimia pembasmi serangga hama yang berasal dari bahan kimia sintetis, selama ini telah dianggap juru selamat karena telah memberikan sumbangan yang nyata terhadap program peningkatan produksi pertanian yang sekaligus meningkatkan pendapatan petani. Penggunaan pestisida kimia yang berkelanjutan dapat memberikan dampak buruk bagi lingkungan. Pestisida dari bahan alami memiliki kelebihan antara lain ramah lingkungan, murah dan mudah didapat, tidak meracuni tanaman, tidak menimbulkan resistensi hama, mengandung unsur hara yang diperlukan tanaman, kompatibel digabung dengan pengendalian lain dan menghasilkan produk pertanian yang bebas residu pestisida. Target kegiatan ini adalah kelompok Tani Hortikultura dan Kelompok Tani Karet yang berada di Desa Hutanamale Kecamatan Puncak Sorik Marapi Mandailing Natal. Jumlah peserta penyuluhan sebanyak 25 orang. Tempat pelaksaan kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Hutanamle Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. Metode Pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dan pendampingan. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini mitra memahami dampak positif dari penggunaan pestisida alami serta memahami dampak negatif atau buruk yang ditimbulkan oleh penggunaan pestisida kimia secara terus-menerus, mitra sudah mampu membuat dan menghasilkan pestisida alami sendiri yang aman dan ramah lingkungan, mitra mampu mengurangi biaya produksi pertanian dengan memanfaatkan limbah air cucian beras sebagai alternative pengganti pestisida kimia dan pestisida alami terbukti efektif pada sayur kubis.Kata Kunci : Pestisida kimia, pestisida alami, kubis

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low interest of student biology in class X3 SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. To overcome this problem, this research applied the learning model of Reciprocal Teaching with Game Smart Case on the subject of the ecosystem in class X3 SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur can increase student biology interest. The research method used is class action research method (PTK) which is implemented in two cycles which each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Learning tools in this study are RPP, student interest questionnaire, test instrument sheet and student observation sheet. The results of the study were analyzed descriptively and obtained through the application of Reciprocal Teaching learning model with Game Smart Case can increase the students 'biology interest in class X3 SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur, especially the subject of ecosystem, based on the questionnaire of students obtained in cycle I of 65.80% And in cycle II equal to 81,13%. Based on student learning test in cycle I get completeness equal to 63,33% and cycle II equal to 83,33%, then based on student activity observation result obtained percentage equal to 62,90% and at second cycle equal to 80,83%. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that there is increased interest in learning biology of students through the learning model Reciprocal Teaching with Game Smart Case in class X3 SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Keywords:Interest in learning, Reciprocal Teaching model, Game Smart Case

Abstract

The problem in this study is the creation of learning the biology of students is still low in class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Barumun, less varied learning models. The purpose of this research is to know the enhancement of student biology learning creativity through problem-based learning on tissue material on plants in class XI IPA 2 at SMA Negeri 1 Barumun year 2018-2019 lesson, through learning-based problems, the research approach used in this research is class action research. This research located at SMA Negeri 1 Barumun with the address of the cross-Riau road implemented after the approval letter of this research was issued. The subject is the class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Barumun While the object is a test of learning creativity of students by using a problem-based learning model on tissue material in plants in class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Barumun. The results of the creativity test on the I cycle gained an average of 72.25 with a percentage of 56.25% increase in cycle II by an average of 81.93 with compensation of  71.25%. Keywords: Creativity, learning outcomes, problem-based learning Model.

Abstract

Sungai Batang Gadis merupakan sungai yang sangat penting sebagai penyedia air untuk mendukung kelangsungan hidup dan kegiatan perekonomian utama masyarakat, yaitu pertanian. Disepanjang pinggiran sungai Batang Gadis banyak ditemukan daerah pertanian masyarakat yang memanfaatkan irigasi dari aliran sungai Batang Gadis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan tingkat pencemaran pestisida di Sungai Batang Gadis Mandailing Natal. Metode : Metode survey digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan mengambil dua titik sampling yaitu Muara Mais dan Tamiang. Penentuan titik sampling menggunakan Purposive sampling method. Pengambilan sampel air, tanah dan ikan yang diambil dianalisis menggunakan Gas Kromatografi. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan residu pestisida hanya ditemukan pada stasiun II (Muara Mais). Residu pestisida yang ditemukan pada air, sedimen tanah dan ikan dari golongan organofosfat yang terdeteksi adalah diazinon, malation, dan klorfirifos sedangkan dari golongan organoklorin aldrin, dieldrin dan endosulfan. Selain residu pestisida juga ditemukan residu pupuk yaitu fosfat, amonia, nitrat, nitrit dan sulfida. Kesimpulan : Residu pestisida pada Sungai Batang Gadis yang ditemukan hannya pada titik lokasi yang ditemukan daerah pertanian disepanjang pinggiran sungai tersebut. Kadar residu pestisida dan juga residu pupuk yang ditemukan masih berada di bawah Batas Maksimal Residu (BMR) pestisida. Konsentrasi residu pestisida organofosfat tersebut yang terbesar terdapat pada tanah, lalu ikan dan terakhir air, sedangkan organoklorin terbesar pada ikan, air kemudian tanah.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis adalah kemampuan menalar seseorang dalam menilai, memecahkan masalah, dan mengambil keputusan ilmiah. Berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu aspek yang dibutuhkan dalam implementasi Kurikulum 2013 dan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi yang dipelajari. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dapat digunakan model Problem Based Learning dan Discovery Learning. Hasil observasi peneliti menunjukkan bahwa di SMPN 5 Panyabungan belum menerapkan penilaian kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan cenderung menggunakan model pembelajaran yang monoton sehingga minat peserta didik dalam mengikuti kagiatan belajar masih rendah, yang dimana tergambar dari nilai rata-rata ujian akhir peserta didik. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang diajar dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dan Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian The Statistic Group Comparison yang dimodifikasi karena tidak menggunakan kelas kontrol, tetapi menggunakan dua kelas sampel yaitu Kelas Eksperimen I dan Kelas Eksperimen II. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling sebanyak dua kelas berdasarkan selisih nilai rata-rata terkecil. Kelas Eksperimen I dan Kelas Eksperimen II ditentukan secara acak. Kemudian diperoleh VIII1 sebagai Kelas Eksperimen I dan VIII2 sebagai Kelas Eksperimen II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbandingan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang diajar dengan model Problem Based Learning dan Discovery Learning. Kelas Eksperimen I yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning memiliki nilai rata-rata 77,9 dan Kelas Eksperimen II yang menggunakan model Discovery Learning memiliki nilai rata-rata 63,3.

Abstract

This type of research this is a class action Research (PTK) and application of model-based learning, Structured Dyadic Methods (HR) on the material waste and recycling. Where the subject is students of class X. IPA SMA Negeri 1 Panyabungan North which consists of 25 students. While the techniques and data-collecting instruments namely observation and tests. Learning outcomes tests cycle students Biology I amounted to 76% and cycle II of 84.33%. Increased levels of student activity on the cycle I of 68.00% and cycle II 86.40% then increased the ability of teachers in managing learning cycle I of 75.00% and cycle II 91.00%.  Keywords: class action Research, Structured Dyadic Methods, student activity.

Abstract

Tujuanpenelitianadalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas limbahaircucianberas sebagai pestisida alami terhadap hama ulat daun sawi dan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis ulat apa saja yang menjadi hama pada tanaman sawi Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental. Terdiri atas dua perlakuan yaitu penyemprotan menggunakan  air cucian beras (P1) dan tanpa penyemprotan menggunakan air cucian beras (P0). Parameteryang akandiamatiadalah: jumlah populasi hama ulat daun sawipadasetiaptanamansampelyang telah ditentukan dan jenis ulat yang ditemukan. Waktupengamatandilakukan setiap7hari setelahpenyemprotan air cucian berasyaitu17,24dan31 HST. Datayang diperolehditabulasidan dianalisisdengan menggunakan Uji standar error.Hasilpenelitianmenunjukkan air cucian beras berpengaruh nyata efektif dalam mengendalikan hama ulat daun Plutellaxylostellapadapada pengamatan, 17, 24 dan 31 HST. Rata-rata jumlah ulat daun Plutellaxylostella  pada P0 selalu jauh lebih tinggi dibanding dengan pada perlakuan P1.Penelitianinimembuktikanbahwaair cucian beras efektif sebagai pestisida alami pada tanaman sawi.Kata Kunci : Air cucian Beras, Pestisida alami, Tanaman Sawi
