Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning interest of students in the Fiqh subject at Madrasah Aliyah (MA), which necessitates innovative learning media that are more engaging and aligned with technological developments. One of the media utilized is the Canva application, which can present material in a visual, creative, and easily understandable manner. The purpose of this study is to describe the steps of utilizing Canva-based media by Fiqh teachers to increase students’ learning interest and to identify its advantages and disadvantages in the learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where data are collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the study indicate that Fiqh teachers implement Canva utilization through stages of planning, media creation, learning implementation, student participation, and evaluation. The use of Canva has proven advantages, including attractive visual displays, ease of use, time efficiency, and the ability to enhance students’ motivation and creativity. However, there are also challenges, such as internet connectivity limitations, restrictions on free features, differences in students’ digital skills, and unequal access to devices. Overall, the utilization of Canva contributes positively to increasing students’ learning interest in the Fiqh subject.

Abstract

Arabic is a subject that must be studied in Islamic High Schools in Indonesia. However, in reality there are still students who have not mastered the rules of learning Arabic, because there are several problems. This research aims to find out what problems students actually experience in learning Arabic. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach (case study design). Data sources were taken from twenty informants consisting of school principals, teachers and students through individual and group interviews. To strengthen the interview data, the author also made direct observations of teachers and students. All interview and observation data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model Analysis Interactive. Research findings found that there were five problems in learning to learn Arabic in high school. The five problems are: i) students' previous educational background, ii) inadequate facilities and infrastructure, iii) there is still a culture of teasing, iv) students are lazy about learning and v) the way teachers teach does not attract students' attention. The results of this research can be used as initial data for future researchers to study this problem in different contexts and problems.

Abstract

Religious education, especially in learning the Qur'an, has a significant role in the spiritual and moral development of the younger generation. However, many students in various educational institutions, including the Qur'anic education center, face difficulty reading, writing, and memorizing the Qur'an properly. This study aims to determine and analyze the effectiveness of the Yanbu'a method in the aspects of reading, writing, and memorizing the Qur'an in students. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, involving interviews, observations, and documentation studies for data collection. The results of the analysis show that the application of the Yanbu'a method has succeeded in significantly improving the ability of students to read, write, and memorize the Qur'an. Repetition and imitation are key in the learning process. However, there are obstacles to the mastery of the method by teachers and the writing ability of students in lower classes. The results of the study indicate the need for training for teachers in the Yanbu'a method to improve the effectiveness of teaching the Qur'an in similar educational institutions.
