Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik spitting in the soup untuk meningkatkan karakter fairness siswa. Penelitian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian kuantitatif dan menggunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan menggunakan one group pretest-posttest. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 25 siswa kelas XI Manajemen perkantoran SMK Swasta Imelda Medan. Instrument penelitian berupa angket karakter fairness yang di adaptasi dari Veronika Bota Goran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji wilxocon. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistic dengan wilxocon signed ranks test diperoleh bahwa nilai z sebesar -2.524 dengan nilai signifikan (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,012. Nilai signifikansi ini lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi yang ditentukan (a=0,05), hal ini berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok dengaan Teknik spitting in the soup efektif untuk meningkatkan karakter fairness siswa di SMK Swasta Imelda Medan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah guna mengidentifikasi upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling melalui pendekatan behavioral dalam pembinaan akhlak siswa di SMK Swasta Mandiri dan faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam membina akhlak siswa di SMK Swasta Mandiri. Metodologi deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian ini, dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi digunakan sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, temuan penelitian yakni upaya guru bimbingan dan konseling melalui pendekatan behavioral dalam pembinaan akhlak siswa yaitu memberikan punishment dan reward. Faktor pendukung dalam membina akhlak yaitu dukungan kepala sekolah, adanya kerjasama wali kelas dengan guru bimbingan dan konseling, sedangkan faktor penghambat dalam membina akhlak yaitu lingkungan sosial keluarga, lingkungan sosial sekolah dan media sosial. Pembinaan akhlak di sekolah menjadi tanggung jawab kepala sekolah, guru wali kelas terutama guru bimbingan dan konseling. Implikasi upaya yang diberikan guru bimbingan dan konseling sangat membantu dalam membina akhlak siswa, sehingga siswa menjadi individu yang berakhlak baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas layanan informasi dengan teknik modeling dalam meningkatkan aspirasi karir siswa kelas X Siswa mengalami kebingungan dalam pengambilan keputusan karir. Terbatasnya informasi mengenai karir membuat siswa hanya memilih sesuai dengan apa yang diketahui. Oleh karena itu, aspirasi karir merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi siswa karena aspirasi karir adalah keinginan atau harapan, cita-cita, ambisi, dan mimpi yang realistis individu terhadap prestasi tertentu di masa depan. Layanan informasi dengan teknik modeling dapat meningkatkan aspirasi karir karena menekankan pentingnya layanan informasi dalam memberikan pemahaman yang diperlukan bagi individu untuk menjalani tugas atau menentukan arah tujuan, dengan cara meniru perilaku model dan langkah-langkah yang diperlukan untuk mencapai karir tertentu sehingga membantu siswa memahami dunia kerja, merencanakan karir realistis, dan meningkatkan motivasi siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen (experiment) dengan One Group Pretest-Posttest. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Swasta Bhayangkari-2 dengan menggunakan skala aspirasi karir model skala likert. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik parametrik dengan uji Paired Sample t-Test. Hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa sebelum perlakuan, terdapat 13 siswa dalam kategori "rendah" dan 19 siswa dalam kategori "sangat rendah." Setelah perlakuan, data posttest menunjukkan pergeseran signifikan, dengan 9 siswa masuk ke kategori "sedang" dan 23 siswa mencapai kategori "tinggi." Analisis statistik menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 22,463 dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari 0,005, sehingga hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa layanan informasi dengan teknik modeling efektif dalam meningkatkan aspirasi karir siswa kelas X di SMA Swasta Bhayangkari-2 Rantauprapat, menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini berhasil memotivasi siswa dan memperluas pandangan mereka tentang peluang karir.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik restrukturisasi kognitif terhadap peningkatan kepercayaan diri siswa di MTs Alwashliyah Sei Langgei. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas VIII-1 dan VIII-2 dengan total populasi sebanyak 60 siswa, di mana 8 siswa menjadi sampel pada kelompok eksperimen dan 8 siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Experiment, menggunakan model non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan melalui uji Paired Sample T-test, yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 (< 0,05), menandakan bahwa hasil penelitian signifikan. Rata-rata skor pretest adalah 119 dan meningkat menjadi 131 pada posttest, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kepercayaan diri siswa setelah menerima bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik restrukturisasi kognitif. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of group counseling, utilizing the Acting As If technique, in promoting assertive behavior among ninth-grade students at Syuhada Sukaraja Private Middle School. Persistent issues with low assertiveness—manifested in difficulties expressing opinions, declining inappropriate peer requests, and communicating confidently—highlighted the need for a structured intervention. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was implemented with eight purposively selected students identified as having low assertiveness. Data were collected using a standardised assertiveness questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and the N-Gain Score. Findings revealed a substantial improvement in assertiveness, with mean scores rising from 46.50 (pretest) to 77.63 (posttest). The Wilcoxon analysis yielded a Z value of −2.524 with a p-value of 0.012 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant change. The N-Gain score of 0.54 (56.46%) placed the intervention in the “moderate” effectiveness category. These results demonstrate that the Acting As If technique—through structured behavioural rehearsal and supportive group interaction—effectively enhances students’ assertive communication skills. The technique offers a practical and replicable counselling approach for enhancing students’ confidence and promoting healthy interpersonal behaviour in school settings.

Abstract

Schools play a crucial role in shaping students’ psychological well-being, social relationships, and academic performance. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services using Nonviolent Communication (NVC) techniques in reducing verbal abuse among eighth-grade students at MTsN 2 Deli Serdang. The research addresses the increasing prevalence of verbal aggression in school settings, which requires systematic intervention through structured counseling strategies. A quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design was employed, involving 18 students divided equally into an experimental and a control group. Data were collected using a verbal abuse questionnaire and analyzed using paired-sample t-tests and independent-sample t-tests through SPSS. Results revealed a significant decrease in verbal abuse behavior in the experimental group after receiving NVC-based group guidance (p < 0.001), while no significant changes occurred in the control group. The independent t-test further confirmed significant differences in posttest scores between groups (p < 0.001). These findings indicate that NVC-based group guidance is effective in reducing students’ verbal aggression by promoting empathetic and constructive communication. Overall, the study demonstrates that integrating NVC techniques into school counseling programs can serve as a practical approach to fostering positive communication habits and creating a healthier, more harmonious learning environment.

Abstract

Parental absence is known to disrupt adolescents’ emotional stability and cognitive functioning, often leading to persistent Negative Thinking in school contexts. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group counselling services using the Cognitive Defusion technique in reducing negative thinking among students experiencing Parental Absence at SMA Negeri 1 Siantar. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design was employed. Sixteen students were selected through purposive sampling and divided into two groups: an experimental group of eight students and a control group of eight students. The instrument used was a negative thinking questionnaire adapted from Charry Mae P. Cepada-Grepon. Data were analysed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, paired-sample t-test, and independent-sample t-test. The findings showed a significant reduction in negative thinking scores in the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). These results indicated that Cognitive Defusion was effective in helping students distance themselves from negative thoughts, interpret them more objectively, and reduce their emotional impact. The study concluded that Cognitive Defusion can serve as a valuable counselling intervention to support students experiencing parental absence. These findings also suggest implications for school counsellors in promoting students’ psychological resilience through structured mental health programs.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of group counseling utilizing the “Cope with the Feeling of Being Overwhelmed” technique in improving student engagement at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan. Employing an experimental pretest-posttest control group design, the research divided subjects into an experimental group receiving the counseling intervention and a control group that did not. Data were collected using a validated and reliable student engagement questionnaire and analyzed statistically. The results demonstrated a significant increase in engagement within the experimental group, with a pretest-posttest significance value of 0.000. Furthermore, a significant difference (p=0.007) was found between the experimental and control groups, confirming the intervention’s efficacy. The novelty of this research lies in applying and empirically validating this specific therapeutic technique within a school counseling context to directly target engagement. A key practical implication is that school counselors can adopt this structured group counseling technique as a proven, alternative strategy to actively help students manage overwhelming feelings and thereby foster higher academic participation. This study contributes by providing empirical evidence for a practical counseling method and offering a replicable framework for enhancing student engagement through targeted emotional coping strategies in educational settings.

Abstract

Social media addiction among middle school students is a serious issue that negatively impacts their academic, social, and emotional functions. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling with the positive practice overcorrection technique in reducing the level of social media addiction. The research design uses a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest, with eight middle school students selected purposively based on high addiction scores. The intervention was conducted through 4–6 group counseling sessions. Data were collected using a social media addiction questionnaire and analyzed with a Paired Sample T-Test after meeting the Shapiro-Wilk normality assumption. The results showed a significant decrease in addiction levels, with the average pretest score of 73.88 (SD = 1.458) dropping to 47.88 (SD = 8.899) in the posttest, t(7) = 8.855, p < .001. Cohen’s dz effect size = 3.13 indicates a very large effect. These findings demonstrate that group counseling with the overcorrection technique is an effective and applicable intervention for reducing social media addiction among middle school students. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of the overcorrection technique into the dynamics of group counseling, which is rarely explored in the context of adolescent digital addiction. Practically, it provides school counselors with an evidence-based, structured intervention protocol. This contributes to the counseling literature by demonstrating a potent, applicable strategy for mitigating a significant contemporary behavioral issue in educational settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik Self-Talk dalam meningkatkan Self-Awareness pada siswa kelas X MAPN 4 Medan. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari rendahnya tingkat kesadaran diri siswa yang ditunjukkan melalui ketidakmampuan mengenali emosi, kurangnya refleksi diri, serta tidak mampunya siswa memahami potensi dan kelemahan dirinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian pre-eksperimental dan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 12 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dari total populasi 33 siswa kelas X-2 MAPN 4 Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner skala Self-Awareness, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dengan bantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta mengalami peningkatan skor Self-Awareness dari kategori rendah menjadi sedang dan tinggi, dengan nilai Z sebesar -3.068 dan signifikansi (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0.002 < 0.05. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik Self-Talk efektif dalam meningkatkan Self-Awareness siswa kelas X MAPN 4 Medan.
