Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze and determine the influence of career development, job satisfaction, and competence on employee performance at the Malang City Government Agencies, both simultaneously and partially. The type of research used is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The population in this study includes all 159 employees in five agencies of the Malang City Government, with a sample of 62 respondents determined using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression methods with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that simultaneously, career development, job satisfaction, and competence significantly influence employee performance. Partially, career development and competence are proven to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, the job satisfaction variable was found to have no significant partial effect on employee performance at the Malang City Government Agencies. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.429 indicates that 42.9% of the variation in employee performance is influenced by these three independent variables, while the remaining is influenced by other factors outside this study.  Keywords: Career Development, Job Satisfaction, Competence, Employee Performance, Government Agency, Human Resources.

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the influence of employee engagement, work environment, and organizational culture on employee performance in honey-based MSMEs in Malang City. This research is motivated by the importance of optimizing human resources as a key factor in organizational performance, especially in MSMEs that still face challenges such as low employee involvement, less supportive work environments, and suboptimal organizational culture. The study aims to examine both simultaneous and partial effects of these variables on employee performance. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using a saturated sampling technique involving 49 employees. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that simultaneously all variables significantly affect employee performance. Partially, employee engagement has a positive and significant effect, while work environment and organizational culture do not show significant effects. These findings suggest that employee engagement is the most dominant factor in improving employee performance. Therefore, MSMEs should prioritize strategies that enhance employee engagement to improve performance outcomes. Keyword : Employee engagement, Work environment, Organizational culture, Employee performance

Abstract

The current paradigm shift in higher education mandates that accounting students look beyond technical competencies to cultivate psychological resilience as job creators. This qualitative study, utilizing a case study approach within the Accounting Department at Universitas Islam Malang, aims to explore the efficacy of implementing project-based learning to accelerate students' entrepreneurial spirit. Research data were compiled from business design drafts, independent retail project reports, and the dynamics of collaborative group work. The findings indicate that the syntax of project-based learning successfully internalizes a strong work ethic, sharpens leadership qualities, and heightens awareness of business risk management. Operational hurdles encountered by students served as a positive catalyst to stimulate product creativity and collective problem-solving capabilities, with project success heavily influenced by the adaptation of learning styles in managing conflicts. This study concludes that independent project methods effectively mitigate the job-seeker mentality toward becoming job creators. Its implications underscore the urgency of reconstructing the accounting curriculum through the integration of empirical retail practices to establish a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in higher education.
