Abstract

This classroom action research was motivated by the low skills of writing pantun among fifth-grade students of SDN Sukun 3. Initial observations showed that most students had difficulty in determining themes, composing interrelated rhymes and content, using appropriate rhymes, and choosing appropriate diction, resulting in pantuns that did not meet the rules of pantun. In addition, the learning process, which was still dominated by conventional methods, resulted in suboptimal student participation and motivation. This study aimed to improve fifth-grade students' pantun writing skills through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by pantun flash cards. This study used the Kemmis and McTaggart Classroom Action Research approach, which was implemented in two cycles, with each cycle including planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 28 fifth-grade students of SDN Sukun 3. Data collection techniques included pantun writing skills tests, observations of teacher and student activities, documentation, and field notes. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques to determine improvements in student learning outcomes and activities in each cycle. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by pantun flash cards is effective in improving the pantun writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sukun 3. This learning model is able to create an active, fun, competitive, and collaborative learning atmosphere so that it can be used as an alternative for learning Indonesian in pantun writing material in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve teamwork skills and learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by interactive card games. The study was motivated by students' low level of teamwork during the learning process. Most students tended to learn individually, were less active in group discussions, and had difficulty sharing responsibilities effectively when working in groups. These conditions resulted in low learning participation and unsatisfactory learning outcomes. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 28 third-grade students in the 2026/2027 academic year. Data were collected through observations of teamwork activities, learning achievement tests, documentation, and field notes. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches by comparing the results of each cycle. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model assisted by interactive card games effectively improved students' teamwork skills and learning outcomes. Teamwork activities increased from the fair category in Cycle I to the very good category in Cycle II. In addition, the percentage of students achieving mastery learning exceeded the predetermined success criteria. The interactive card games created an enjoyable learning environment, increased students' participation in group discussions, strengthened peer communication, and fostered responsibility within the team. Therefore, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by interactive card games can be considered an effective alternative learning strategy to improve teamwork skills and learning outcomes among third-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Pancasila serves as the foundation of the Indonesian state and plays an important role in developing students’ character from an early age. However, its implementation among elementary school students has not been fully optimal. Initial observations at SDN Bandungrejosari 3 Malang indicated that some fourth-grade students had not consistently demonstrated discipline, responsibility, and active participation in classroom deliberations. This study aimed to describe the implementation of Pancasila values among fourth-grade students, identify their forms of application, and examine the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the fourth-grade homeroom teacher and students. Data analysis included data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the value of Belief in the One and Only God was implemented through prayer and religious tolerance. Humanity was reflected in honesty, politeness, empathy, and helping others. Unity was demonstrated through cooperation and mutual assistance, while Democracy was practiced through classroom discussions and opportunities to express opinions. Social Justice was reflected in fair treatment and equal task distribution. The implementation of Pancasila values was supported by teachers’ role modeling, daily habituation, school regulations, and positive teacher–student interactions. However, differences in students’ characteristics, motivation, discipline, responsibility, and self-confidence remained obstacles. Overall, Pancasila values have been integrated into classroom learning and daily school activities, with teachers playing a key role in strengthening students’ character through consistent guidance, example, and habituation. Keywords: Pancasila Values, Character Education, Elementary School Students. Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the essential competencies that students need to develop in the twenty-first century. However, observations conducted in Grade V of SDN Sukun 3 indicated that students' collaboration skills were still relatively low. This condition was reflected in unequal participation during group discussions, limited communication among students, uneven task distribution, and the dominance of certain group members in completing learning activities. This study aimed to improve students' collaboration skills through the implementation of a Mission-Based Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study involved Grade V students of SDN Sukun 3 and was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through collaboration observation sheets, field notes, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Mission-Based Teams Games Tournament learning model successfully improved students' collaboration skills. Students demonstrated better cooperation, communication, responsibility, respect for peers' opinions, and active participation in completing group tasks. Therefore, integrating group missions into the Teams Games Tournament model can create a more engaging, interactive, and collaborative learning environment in elementary school classrooms.
