Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai tingkat kebugaran jasmani siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler futsal di SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru. Metode deskriptif digunakan dengan sampel 15 siswa yang diukur melalui Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia (TKJI) meliputi lari cepat 50 meter, gantung siku, baring duduk, loncat tegak, dan lari 1000 meter. Hasil menunjukkan sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori kebugaran jasmani "sedang" dengan beberapa area membutuhkan perbaikan, khususnya dalam daya tahan fisik. Rekomendasi diberikan kepada pihak sekolah, pelatih, dan orang tua untuk meningkatkan fasilitas, latihan fisik, dan pola hidup sehat siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kontribusi keseimbangan dan kecepatan berlari terhadap kemampuan menggiring bola kaki pada siswa kelas X 2 SMA YLPI Pekanbaru. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah korelasi ganda. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X 2 SMA YLPI Pekanbaru yang berjumlah 24 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling sehingga sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 24 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes stork hand, tes lari 40 meter dan tes kemampuan menggiring bola. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah menghitung nilai korelasi ganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) Terdapat kontribusi keseimbangan terhadap kemampuan menggiring bola pada siswa kelas X 2 SMA YLPI Pekanbaru dengan nilai  rhitung = 0,545 > rtabel = 0,404 dan nilai KD sebesar 29.70% (2) Terdapat kontribusi kecepatan berlari terhadap kemampuan menggiring bola pada siswa kelas X 2 SMA YLPI Pekanbaru dengan nilai  rhitung = 0,589 > rtabel = 0,404 dan nilai KD sebesar 34.69% (3) Terdapat kontribusi kecepatan berlari dan keseimbangan terhadap kemampuan menggiring bola pada siswa kelas X 2 SMA YLPI Pekanbaru dengan nilai  rhitung = 0,706 >  rtabel = 0,404 dan nilai KD sebesar 49.84%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memastikan (1) sejauh mana kelincahan memengaruhi kemampuan siswa SSB Patriot Muda Kuok untuk menggiring bola; (2) sejauh mana koordinasi mata-kaki memengaruhi kemampuan siswa SSB Patriot Muda Kuok untuk menggiring bola; dan (3) sejauh mana kelincahan dan koordinasi mata-kaki secara bersama-sama memengaruhi kemampuan menggiring bola bagi siswa SSB Patriot Muda Kuok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode "korelasional" dan bersifat deskriptif. Semua siswa di SSB Patriot Muda Kuok merupakan populasi yang diteliti. Dua puluh siswa dipilih sebagai sampel dari populasi ini. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa, pada tingkat signifikansi 5%, nilai r hitung adalah 0,578, lebih tinggi dari nilai r tabel sebesar 0,443. Kelincahan dan koordinasi mata-kaki menyumbang 33,40% dari total persentase keterampilan menggiring bola. Ini menunjukkan bahwa 33,40% kemampuan menggiring bola dikaitkan dengan kelincahan. Namun, faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini berdampak pada sisanya sebesar 66,60%.

Abstract

Based on the facts on the ground, one of the causes of the less-than-optimal achievements achieved is caused by the lack of accuracy of the player's kick to the opponent's goal. This study aims to analyze the differences in the effect of training using the goalkeeper's quiet eye and training using the quiet eye without the goalkeeper on the accuracy of kicks on the goal. This research is quantitative research with quasi-experimental methodsThis research was conducted at the Tuanku Tambusai stadium, the population of PSBS Kampar, Riau Province, with a sample of 28 soccer players obtained using purposive sampling. The research instrument used to measure the accuracy of kicks to goal in this study is Loughborough Soccer Shooting (LSST). The data analysis technique used the T-test at a significance level (α) 0.05. The study showed a significant difference between the goalkeeper's quiet eye training method and the quiet eye without the goalkeeper on shooting accuracy in PSBS Kampar. The T-test results the experimental group obtained a T count = 4.224 > T table = 2.021 and a sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, that the training quiet eye increases the accuracy of shooting results.

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of modified sickle kick training on the performance of pencak silat athletes. The sickle kick, an important technique in pencak silat, requires an optimal blend of speed, precision, and power. This study proposed exercise modifications involving variations in intensity, frequency, and complexity of movements, hypothesising that these changes would increase the effectiveness of the exercises. Using a pre-test and post-test experimental design, the study involved 40 pencak silat athletes (20 male, 20 female, ages 18-25) who were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in a modified training regimen for 8 weeks, while the control group engaged in conventional training. Measurements assessed included kick execution speed, accuracy, and strength. The analysis results revealed significant improvements in the experimental group relative to the control group. Kick execution speed improved by 15% (p < 0.01), target accuracy by 25% (p < 0.001), and kick strength by 20% (p < 0.001) in the experimental group. In contrast, the control group showed only small improvements in all measures (5-8%, P > 0.05 for speed, p < 0.05 for accuracy and strength). These results suggest that modifying the sickle kick exercise is an effective strategy to improve the performance of pencak silat athletes. The implications of this study may revolutionise pencak silat training methodology and inspire similar adaptations in other martial arts disciplines.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a critical component of academic achievement, yet many English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners face challenges in processing complex texts. This study investigates the impact of visual information-based reading materials on improving comprehension among Indonesian EFL university students. A mixed-methods, cross-sectional design was employed over three academic semesters. A total of 228 students were assigned to either an experimental group, which received reading materials incorporating visual elements, or a control group, which received text-only materials. Quantitative data were collected using standardized comprehension assessments, while qualitative insights were gathered through student reflections and interviews. The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher performance in literal comprehension compared to the control group (p 0.05, Cohen’s d = 0.81), indicating a large effect size. Qualitative data reinforced these findings, revealing that visual aids enhanced student engagement, understanding, and information retention. The integration of visual elements into reading materials effectively supports comprehension in EFL contexts. Visual information appears to reduce cognitive load and facilitate meaning-making, particularly in learners processing texts in a non-native language. Visual-enhanced reading materials significantly improve literal comprehension among Indonesian EFL university students. These findings underscore the importance of incorporating visual literacy strategies in EFL pedagogy and call for further research into interactive and digital visual tools to support reading comprehension.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kondisi VO2 Max atlet bolavoli yang berkenaan dengan daya tahan aerobic atau VO2 Max. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 18 orang atlet pada Klub PORMAS Junior VC Marpoyan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara melakukan bleep test dari analisis data yang diperoleh hasil VO2 Max. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dilakukan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian yang berjudul Tingkat VO2 Max atlet bolavoli pada Klub PORMAS Junior VC Marpoyan dengan nilai rata-rata 36,4 yang terletak pada interval 38,4-45,1 dengan presentase 100% terkategori Fair atau Cukup.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to improve mastery of basic handball techniques by strengthening the motivation of students at the Riau Special Sports School (SKO). The problem faced by partners is the students' still low understanding and skills regarding basic handball techniques and motivation to participate in training activities. The service implementation method is carried out through an educational and participatory approach, including socialization of handball materials, the meaning of basic techniques, direct practice, training assistance, and providing motivation through varied and fun learning methods. The basic techniques applied include passing, catching, dribbling, shooting, and basic defensive movements. The activity was evaluated through observations of student engagement, assessment of basic technical skills, and student responses during the activity. The results showed increased student motivation, enthusiasm, and active participation, which positively impacted their mastery of basic handball techniques. Therefore, this community service activity makes a significant contribution to supporting handball achievement development at SKO Riau and can be used as a practical learning and training model for coaches and sports educators.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) aimed to improve students’ understanding of handball game strategies and their ability to manage pre-competition emotions at the Riau Sports Special School (Sekolah Khusus Olahraga/SKO). The activity was conducted in November 2025 and involved 45 student-athletes from the handball program. The implementation methods included lectures, demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions, and evaluations. The results indicated an improvement in the mastery of basic handball techniques and strategic understanding, as well as an enhancement in students’ ability to manage pre-competition emotions, reflected in increased self-confidence, focus, and mental readiness prior to competition. In addition, students demonstrated a high level of engagement and active participation throughout the activities. Therefore, this community service program made a positive contribution to improving both the technical skills and psychological readiness of SKO Riau students in facing sports competitions.

Abstract

Learning discipline is an important aspect in supporting the success of student learning. This article aims to describe the problems of student learning discipline at MTs Masmur. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive approach through a review of relevant scientific literature. The results of the study show that learning discipline problems include tardiness, lack of compliance with rules, low motivation to learn, and lack of responsibility in completing assignments. Therefore, cooperation between teachers, schools, and parents is needed to instill the values of learning discipline.
