Abstract

SMK has the challenge of implementing meaningful distance learning using animated video media according to student perceptions. However, students' perceptions about the use of animated video media in distance learning are not yet known. This study aims to measure the perceptions of Mechanical Engineering Vocational School students about the use of animated video media for the development of skills to operate a lathe in distance learning. This study used quantitative descriptive statistical analysis methods, t-test, and One-Way ANOVA with post-hoc advanced tests, namely the Dunnett C and Tukey test to determine differences in students' perceptions of assessment. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The media feasibility test was carried out by two material and media experts. The research subjects consisted of 73 students of Mechanical Engineering Vocational Schools. The results of the media feasibility validation by material experts were 81.875% and media experts 90.625% were in the very feasible category. The assessment of the feasibility of the media by students was 83.714% in the very feasible category. The study results concluded that there was no significant difference between male and female students in the assessment of distance learning animated video media.

Abstract

The unavailability of interactive media, namely e-module, has an impact on students so that they tend to be passive and less interested in learning in clinical dietetics subjects, resulting in student learning outcomes that are not by competency standards. This study aims to develop and prove the feasibility of e-modules in nutrition science and explore the importance of developing e-modules to improve learning achievement. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) using a 4-D model with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were students of class X majoring in culinary, which amounted to 124 respondents. The data collection technique used interviews and questionnaires that were used to validate and prove the results of the e-module feasibility. The results of material expert validation show that the e-module is very feasible to use with a percentage of 91.250%, media experts contribute to media eligibility 91.875%, while student assessments get 86.618% eligibility. So that the clinical dietetics e-module is feasible to be used as learning. Parametric statistics with comparative analysis of two samples using the T-test, Dunnet-C, and Tukey's test were conducted to determine differences in the variables of gender, age, and class. Comparative analysis proves that there is no significant difference between class X students in assessing the development of nutrition science e-modules. The existence of a clinical dietetics e-module can make it easier for students to learn and carry out learning independently so that student learning outcomes are according to competence.

Abstract

The lack of educator knowledge regarding technology, information, and the use of learning media can increase learning boredom which causes students to lack understanding of the material presented by the teacher. So there needs to be innovation in order to have a positive impact on students by using the media. This study aims to develop an android mobile-based e-module on environmental pollution material. This type of research is development. Research using research and development methods. The test subjects were 72 students. The sampling technique uses probability sampling with the simple random sampling method. The methods used to collect data are interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The instruments used to collect data were interview sheets, questionnaires, and test questions in testing the effectiveness of the e-module using a quasi-experimental non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The results of the research stated that using Android-based e-modules was appropriate for learning environmental pollution material. It was concluded that the e-module based on android mobile could improve the problem-solving skills of Class X high school students in biology subjects. Android-based e-modules can help students learn.

Abstract

The low critical thinking ability of students in the chassis maintenance and power transfer learning so that the required competencies are not achieved. This study aims to analyze critical thinking skills in chassis maintenance and power transfer learning which is taught using the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical (STEM) learning model and the conventional learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental type of research. The population in this study were students of class XI TKR 1 and XI TKR 2 as many as 69 students. Data collection techniques used documentation technique and test technique. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis to know the category of students’ critical thinking skills and inferential analysis, including normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis by using a t-test to know the comparison of students’ critical thinking skills in learning chassis maintenance and power transfer which is taught using the Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematical (STEM) learning model and conventional learning models. This study shows that descriptive analysis obtained a Mean of 83.49 that was classified into a very high category and very effective category. The t-test proves the data. The tvalue value is 8045, and the ttable is df 67 = 2,000, so it can be decided that H0 is rejected. Ha is accepted because tvalue > ttable, so it can be concluded that the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical (STEM) learning model is effectively used to improve critical thinking skills compared to using conventional learning models.

Abstract

A new learning paradigm is needed by Vocational High Schools (SMK) to adapt vocational learning to the needs of the world of work in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. Changes in the structure of employment patterns due to the loss of existing jobs and the emergence of new job opportunities required the need to strengthen vocational schools as education for occupation and also as education for career development. Especially in mechatronics engineering vocational high school, which was closely related to industrial technology 4.0. This study aims to produce a mobile-based application to support the integration of vocational learning and career learning activities in mechatronic engineering vocational high schools. Product development used the research and development methods with the development stages was adapting the Holistic 4D model, namely the Define, Design, and Develop stages. Data was collected using observation sheets and questionnaires that had been validated by experts. The data analysis method used is quantitative data analysis. The results of expert reviews and operational trials showed that the learning media application developed was in the very feasible category with an average assessment score of 3.55. This result showed that the mobile-based application developed was feasible and can be used for the career development of vocational students with mechatronic engineering competence. Mobile-based application developed can be used to facilitate learner-centred projects, such as self-directed learning, collaborative learning, and project management.
