Abstract

The effectiveness and standard of teacher performance in elementary schools are greatly influenced by the leadership style that school principals select. This study intended to examine how principals' leadership philosophies impact primary school teachers' performance in order to shed light on the ways that leadership influences educational outcomes. The issue was analysed through survey methodologies. Three hundred primary school educators from Sumedang Regency, Indonesia, engaged in the study. Data was collected via the dissemination of a structured questionnaire. The results indicate that the efficacy of primary school teachers is significantly influenced by the leadership style of the principal. Educators who exhibit clear communication, equitable task allocation, and supportive guidance demonstrate heightened motivation, improved lesson planning, and increased engagement in initiatives to advance their schools. Moreover, leadership strategies that promote teacher involvement in decision-making foster a positive work environment, thereby enhancing teacher professionalism. Enhancing the competencies of school leaders through targeted leadership development programs is expected to elevate teacher performance and subsequently enhance overall school outcomes.

Abstract

The quality of teaching at the elementary education level is primarily determined by the ability and readiness of teachers in developing and implementing effective teaching methods. One of the main factors that guarantee the success of the learning process is the preparation of a structured lesson plan that focuses on student needs. This study aims to conduct an empirical study analyzing the effect of lesson plans on the quality of teacher teaching and learning activities and student learning outcomes at elementary level. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 12 teachers and 45 students from two classes in one elementary school in Sukasari District, Bandung City. Data collection was carried out through observation of teacher teaching quality and student learning outcome tests. The findings of this study were 86.58% of teachers consistently planning learning can improve teaching quality. Strengthened by the results of student learning analysis using ANCOVA, namely a sig value of 0.000 0.05, confirming that lesson plans affect teaching quality and learning outcomes in science subjects.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya penggunaan media yang  variatif menyebabkan proses belajar terkesan monoton sehingga siswa kurang memahami materi yang disampaikan guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk bernama media PENDA yang dapat dijadijkan inovasi dalam pembelajaran IPA di SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan jenis RnD (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Prosedur pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dan analisis data kuantitatif dari angket dan tes yang kemudian dilakukan penilaian berdasarkan skala Likert. Hasil uji validasi oleh ahli materi menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan sebesar 90% dengan kategori sangat layak. Sementara itu, validasi dari ahli media mendapatkan persentase 94%, juga dalam kategori sangat layak untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran di SD. Selanjutnya, uji coba yang dilakukan pada 28 siswa menghasilkan skor sebesar 91,96%. Dengan demikian media PENDA terbukti efektif dan pantas diimplementasikan dalam proses belajar di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting elementary school teachers in implementing the deep learning curriculum. Two groups from a public elementary school in Sumedang Regency participated in a quantitative, quasi-experimental design. While the control group employed traditional teaching techniques, the experimental group used AI-based support. Pretest and posttest tools for learning outcomes were used to gather data. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and N-Gain effectiveness analysis were among the methods used to analyze the data. The results show that students in the experimental group outperformed those in the control group in terms of their learning outcomes. A significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores was indicated by the Wilcoxon test's significance value of 0.000. The experimental group's average N-Gain score was 0.58 (58.13%), which was considered moderate and higher than the control group's 0.37 (37.48%). These findings show that integrating AI not only increases student learning effectiveness but also gives teachers the ability to evaluate learning data in real time and modify their lessons to meet the needs of their students. It is determined that deep learning curricula in elementary schools can be successfully supported by the application of AI. To guarantee long-term implementation, schools are urged to improve their digital infrastructure and offer sufficient teacher training.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aplikasi PEMALAK (Pembelajaran Materi Akhlak) sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa kelas V dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti (PAI BP), khususnya pada materi akhlak. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Aplikasi ini dirancang untuk menyajikan materi akhlak secara menarik melalui fitur-fitur seperti teks materi, video animasi, lagu edukatif, dan kuis interaktif. Hasil validasi oleh ahli materi dan media menunjukkan rata-rata kelayakan sebesar 99,5% yang tergolong “sangat valid”. Uji efektivitas menggunakan pretest dan posttest menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman siswa, dengan nilai N-Gain rata-rata sebesar 0,64 (kategori sedang). Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap aplikasi sangat positif, dengan tingkat kelayakan mencapai 94%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi PEMALAK mampu menjadi solusi inovatif dalam pembelajaran akhlak di sekolah dasar, serta berkontribusi dalam membentuk karakter siswa melalui pendekatan digital yang relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman.

Abstract

Low reading ability and comprehension among Indonesian elementary students represents a critical educational challenge, as evidenced by declining PISA scores from 371 points in 2018 to 359 points in 2022. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of WEPCET (Web-Based Fast Reader), a web-based learning media designed to enhance speed reading skills and reading comprehension among fifth-grade elementary students. A quantitative quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was employed, involving 62 fifth-grade students divided into experimental (n=31) and control groups (n=31). The experimental group received instruction using WEPCET media, while the control group underwent conventional teaching methods. Data collection instruments included reading comprehension tests (15 multiple-choice items), reading speed measurement sheets, and student response questionnaires. Statistical analyses comprised normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. Significant improvements were observed in the experimental group, with reading comprehension scores increasing from 49.83 to 85.00 and reading speed from 115.77 to 139.16 words per minute. Independent sample t-test results showed significant differences between groups (p < 0.05). N-Gain analysis revealed "moderately effective" improvement in reading comprehension (68.25%) and "highly effective" enhancement in reading speed (99.85%). Student responses to WEPCET media were highly positive, achieving 91.03% feasibility rating classified as "very feasible." WEPCET media demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving both speed reading skills and reading comprehension among elementary students. This web-based learning innovation offers a promising solution for addressing literacy challenges and supporting 21st-century digital learning competencies in Indonesian elementary education.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the LENTERA application in improving fourth-grade students’ understanding of traditional customs in the IPAS subject. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. Instruments included tests and questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. The results showed that the LENTERA application effectively enhanced students’ learning outcomes, with a statistically significant difference shown by the t-test, an average N-Gain of 58.3%, and highly positive responses from students toward the digital learning media. Keyword: effectiveness, traditional customs, LENTERA app, IPAS, understanding   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas aplikasi LENTERA dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi adat istiadat pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes dan angket, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji-t. Abstract

Education has undergone changes due to digital technology, especially in terms of interactive media that improve student understanding. This study examines the extent to which fourth-grade students understand the Kingdoms in the Archipelago in history lessons using INFORIA (Interactive Infographics of Archipelago History). Sixty-two students were deliberately selected to be divided into an experimental group and a control group in this study, which was conducted at an elementary school in Bandung Regency.   P retests, posttests, and student response questionnaires were used to collect data in a quasi-experimental design (Non-Equivalent Control Group Design). With an average pretest score of 44, a posttest score of 80.10, and an N-Gain of 65.39% (moderately effective), the results show that the performance of the experimental group improved significantly. The average pretest score was 40, the average posttest score was 67.16, and the N-Gain for the control group was 44.84% (ineffective). The difference was significant between the groups, as confirmed by an independent sample t-test (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Students also expressed positive opinions about the media in their responses. These results show that INFORIA is a useful and enjoyable tool for improving historical understanding in social studies lessons at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Permasalahan pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa belum mampu menjelaskan proses pernapasan manusia yang dipelajari dengan pemahamannya sendiri, siswa merasa pembelajaran tidak menyenangkan karena kurangnya media penunjang yang baik. Maka, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan Board Game “Ular Tangga” terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest design. Hasil penelitian yang didapat, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji N-gain dan Uji Paired Sample-T-Test. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada nilai rata-rata posttest setelah menggunakan media Board Game “Ular Tangga” sebesar 31%, dengan rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 53 dan nilai posttest sebesar 84. Hasil analisis Uji Paired Sample t-Test juga menunjukkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, dengan signifikansi 0.000 < 0.05. Uji N-Gain sebesar 68% menunjukkan bahwa termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif. Berdasarkan penjelasan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran Board Game “Ular Tangga”, pada penelitian ini mencatat adanya dampak positif terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas V pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia.

Abstract

The research was conducted based on findings in the field that teachers were not yet fully using innovative and creative learning media in the classroom during learning. The rapid development of science and technology is a challenge for learning in the 21st century, because it must involve the help of technology in the field of education. Lack of use of media makes students easily bored, unenthusiastic and difficult to understand the material. One learning media that is interesting and keeps up with the times is by using multimedia learning video media. Using Canva can overcome difficulties in the 21st century. This development aims to produce a learning media product and describe the feasibility of developing multimedia learning videos using Canva on cultural diversity material in elementary schools. The type of research used in this research is research and development (R&D). The research and development design model used is the ADDIE development model. The ADDIE research model is a model that involves a procedure with five steps which include Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the validation results, the material expert received a "very good" qualification. Media results validated by media experts qualify as "very good" and language results validated by linguists qualify as "very good" and are suitable for use in class IV at SDN SukaMaju. The results of student responses from individual group product testing, small group product testing and large group product testing were "very good" feasibility.
