Abstract

Diverse research findings pertaining to the proficiency of Islamic religious education teachers may serve as a starting point, if not a benchmark, for the development of such instructors' proficiency, particularly with regard to the proficiencies that are imperative for educators in the digital age. Consequently, this study aims to investigate the competencies of Islamic religious education teachers that have been mentioned most frequently in research over the past decade, as well as strategies for developing those competencies and technological (digital) competencies. To achieve this aim, this study employed a systematic literature review method by utilizing publication data spanning a decade (2013–2023) to investigate a particular theme. The preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) was utilized to evaluate the findings. This research shows findings regarding teachers' obligations to develop technological (digital) competencies, in addition to the four teacher competencies (pedagogical, professional, personal, and social). The aforementioned conditions are predicated on the necessity for collaborative, creative, and creative learning, which makes it highly sought after by students. In contrast, forthcoming investigations should strive to gather empirical data regarding approaches to cultivating digital proficiency among Islamic religious education instructors, given the prevailing inclination towards learner-centered learning in the twenty-first century as opposed to teacher-centered learning.

Abstract

Choosing a suitable learning model in Islamic religious education is important in achieving educational goals in the 21st Century. Thus, researchers emphasize two aspects in this study. Firstly, what are the Islamic religious education learning models widely used in the teaching and learning process in the 21st Century? Secondly, what is the urgency of using Islamic Religious Education Learning Models in the 21st Century? A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted to achieve these objectives, consisting of the selection and PRISMA methodology, which involves systematic planning, identification, feasibility testing, and meta-analysis, including applicable theories of articles from the Crossref and Scopus databases that addressed specific topics (Islamic religious education, Islamic religious education learning, and Islamic religious education learning model). The findings of the analysis indicate that there are nine prevalent learning models utilized by teachers in Islamic religious education: blended learning (BL), problem-based learning (PBL), experiential learning (EL), discovery learning (DL), contextual teaching and learning (CTL), cooperative learning (CL), reflective learning, and electronic learning. This research shows that educators in Islamic religious education can explore and choose learning models appropriate to the teaching material. For example, regarding material on the history of Islamic civilization, teachers can use the discovery learning (DL) method to ensure the Islamic religious education learning process can run optimally according to students' needs.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve literacy movements in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) units using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. Low literacy skills in early childhood are often caused by limited resources, skills, and understanding of teachers and parents regarding the importance of early literacy. Through the ABCD method, this activity identifies the potential and assets owned by the PAUD community, including teachers, parents, and the surrounding environment, to jointly develop effective and sustainable literacy programs. This mentoring activity includes training for teachers and parents in developing interesting literacy activities, creating reading corners in the PAUD environment, and mentoring in implementing literacy activities based on games and exploration. This method focuses on empowering local assets and the active participation of all members of the PAUD community, so as to build collective awareness regarding the importance of early literacy. The results of the activity show an increase in children's interest in reading and teachers' skills in implementing literacy activities in PAUD. It is hoped that this program can be a model for a broader literacy movement in the context of early childhood education.

Implementing religious character education in elementary schools can be done in various ways, starting from programs implemented by optimizing integration between the government, schools, parents, and the community. In addition, religious character education can be implemented according to the challenges in each school by using local wisdom models, such as Islamic boarding schools, Maja Labo Dahu in West Nusa Tenggara, Rejang in Bengkulu, Basandi Syarak customs, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah in Padang, Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge in Makassar and Dhukutan Tawangmanggu customs. Based on these results, this study has theoretical implications for Sturt Hall’s thinking with three concepts of identity in implementing religious character education.
