Abstract

The emergence of the digital era is clear evidence of the evolution of the educational landscape. Ineducation, the creation of cost-effective digital classrooms may be the answer to future problems. In-expensive glass touchscreens are an alternative to digital classrooms. This research will describe education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Indonesia.Design/methodology/approach This research uses a qualitative case study methodology. This researchinvolved eight participants, including school administrators, digital space teachers, and the informationtechnology team. Use interview, observation, and documentation tactics to collect data. The data analysistechnique uses the methods of reduction, presentation, and interpretation of the important themes found.Limitations/Research Implications The results of the study revealed that there were two important elementsin this study, namely the learning process carried out in digital classrooms and the main obstacles to itsimplementation. Creating a digital smart class begins with the provision of infrastructure such as InFocus,a USB port, a USB cable, a dongle, a high-resolution camera, wireless, and a smart board (touch screen)connected wirelessly. Smart digital classes can really stimulate teacher creativity in producing the bestmedia for teaching materials. Obstacles to adopting digital courses include the limitations of gadgets thatsupport the implementation of digital classes, the competence of teaching teachers, and school regulationsin providing supporting facilities. Originality/Value This new research is expected to be the starting pointfor creating teaching materials that are simple, economical, and effective.

Abstract

Studies on using Islamic religious education instructional media by educators exhibit considerable diversity, with several study findings emerging over the past decade. Notably, incorporating social media platforms such as YouTube and TikTok has been explored to enhance the learning experience. This study aims to achieve two primary goals based on the provided data. There are two main points to consider: firstly, the importance of selecting learning materials for Islamic religious education in the modern age, and secondly, the prevalence of technology-based learning media teachers utilize in Islamic religious education classes. A systematic literature review was employed by searching for results of scientific publications on the global indexation platform (Scopus-Google Scholar) with a period of 2014–2024 by PRISMA analysis. The research results show that the urgency of learning media for Islamic religious education can influence every learning process. Moreover, in the digital era, accessibility and inclusivity are absolute choices that teachers must pay attention to so that every Islamic religious education lesson can run according to the challenges of the times (student needs), be able to increase motivation and influence student learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the distribution of learning media used by Islamic religious education teachers in the technological era is divided into two categories: first, technology-based learning media without an internet network, and second, technology-based learning media with an internet network.

Abstract

Choosing a suitable learning model in Islamic religious education is important in achieving educational goals in the 21st Century. Thus, researchers emphasize two aspects in this study. Firstly, what are the Islamic religious education learning models widely used in the teaching and learning process in the 21st Century? Secondly, what is the urgency of using Islamic Religious Education Learning Models in the 21st Century? A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted to achieve these objectives, consisting of the selection and PRISMA methodology, which involves systematic planning, identification, feasibility testing, and meta-analysis, including applicable theories of articles from the Crossref and Scopus databases that addressed specific topics (Islamic religious education, Islamic religious education learning, and Islamic religious education learning model). The findings of the analysis indicate that there are nine prevalent learning models utilized by teachers in Islamic religious education: blended learning (BL), problem-based learning (PBL), experiential learning (EL), discovery learning (DL), contextual teaching and learning (CTL), cooperative learning (CL), reflective learning, and electronic learning. This research shows that educators in Islamic religious education can explore and choose learning models appropriate to the teaching material. For example, regarding material on the history of Islamic civilization, teachers can use the discovery learning (DL) method to ensure the Islamic religious education learning process can run optimally according to students' needs.

Abstract

Educational institutions strive to shape students into individuals with character and noble morals, enabling them to integrate intelligence, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Research on character education in elementary schools, specifically Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, presents diverse viewpoints. Based on the data above. The focus of this study is on three specific issues. The first issue is the pressing need for character education in both elementary schools and Islamic elementary schools, also known as madrasah ibtidaiyah. The second concern pertains to the various forms of character education students receive. The third issue pertains to the implementation of the character education model in Islamic elementary schools. The researchers employed the systematic literature review method. The articles were chosen based on five stages, and data analysis was done using PRISMA. The themes and time period covered the last ten years, from 2014 to 2024, and global data from Scopus and Google Scholar, which added up to 483 articles, book reviews, proceedings, and conferences. The study's results indicate that schools must effectively and efficiently implement character education in Islamic elementary school students, through coaching, mentoring, and individual approaches. In addition, schools must strengthen educational components such as curriculum, learning media, madrasah programs, and the government through the education office. while the types of characters implemented in Islamic elementary schools, include: religious character, nationalism, mutual cooperation, social, and discipline, which are supported by several character education models such as Thomas Lickona's character education model, the G-Gold Way model, participatory observation learning model, and an education model based on strengthening collaboration between schools and parents. The study's theoretical implications emphasize the importance of fostering a positive school culture as the primary solution.
