Abstract

Inclusive quality education is essential for national development, aligning with Indonesia's goal to educate intelligent, responsible, and noble citizens without discrimination. Binding legal regulations become the basis for implementing inclusive education that is fair and without prejudice. As for these two research questions: how are the legal rules governing inclusive education in Indonesia and other countries? What are the challenges of implementing inclusive education in Indonesia? Using the systematic literature review research method, with keywords in Indonesian and English, "inclusive education policy" AND "law", and "inclusive education policy" AND "law" AND "Indonesia" in the 2015-2025 period. The researcher obtained the results of 68 articles that were appropriate and complete "full paper", with the final details; articles from Scopus 19 and Google Scholar 49 total of 68 articles. The results of the study show that in terms of legal regulations, inclusive education in Indonesia is much clearer and more binding than in Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, only losing to Finland, which is much better in terms of law and implementation. However, Indonesia still has several challenges in implementing inclusive education, such as limited human resources, the need to provide collaboration space for teachers, government and parents, minimal facilities and infrastructure and weak supervision and evaluation. Theoretical implications of clear and binding inclusive education legal regulations start from the definition, rights, obligations, monitoring systems, and sanctions if violations are found compared to other countries.

Abstract

The presence of bullying within Islamic boarding schools is a serious issue that demands immediate attention and prevention. This research aimed to investigate the factors of bullying, the characteristics of bullying behavior in Islamic boarding schools, and the preventative measures implemented by Islamic boarding schools to shield their students. The research approach employed is a systematic literature review focused on published articles. The data was restricted to articles published from 2013 to 2023. The researchers used PRISMA analysis to analyze the data. The research results found that individual, a supportive environment, parental parenting patterns, particularly authoritarian parenting patterns, and aggressive or violent video or film elements were all factors in bullying. Several strategies had been put into effect, including the following: creating a fun cottage movement (GPM) program, strengthening conflict and emotional management, carrying out regular outreach and training regarding the dangers of bullying, cyber bullying, and legal education for bullies, implementing an anti-bullying curriculum, and others. Besides, more comprehensive research findings indicated that Islamic boarding schools must implement character formation based on Josephson’s “Character Counts” theory with six main pillars to prevent bullying behavior among students.

Abstract

The urgency of women’s fiqh learning lies in its role in enhancing female students’ Islamic literacy through well-structured implementation involving planning, execution, and evaluation. This study aims to analyze the implementation process of women’s fiqh learning in Islamic boarding schools, focusing on methods, techniques, and challenges faced by teachers. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, with analysis based on Yin’s framework and triangulation for validity.Findings show that implementation follows three main stages: planning, execution, and evaluation. During the execution stage, teachers apply five steps: orientation/initial stimulation, problem identification, critical literacy, taking action, and evaluation. A teacher-centered approach is optimized alongside traditional pesantren methods such as sorogan, bandongan, and musyawaroh, integrated with interactive lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer techniques. This combination provides both theoretical understanding and practical engagement for female students. The research highlights the theoretical implication of a Literacy-Based Constructivism Learning Model (LIT-CON Model), which strengthens literacy depth and creates space for critical thinking among female students. The practical implication recommends pesantren develop constructivism-based curricula to ensure fiqh learning goes beyond turath (theoretical knowledge) and is understood deeply and contextually, aligning with contemporary challenges. Teachers face challenges in contextualizing women’s fiqh while maintaining traditional approaches, yet innovative integration of methods supports meaningful literacy improvement. Thus, women’s fiqh learning is not only essential for preserving Islamic tradition but also for equipping female students with critical, contextualized understanding relevant to modern times.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning model in fostering environmental care character at nature-based elementary schools and identify the challenges teachers face. The research employed a case study approach with interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. Using Robert K. Yin's framework, data analysis is performed by pattern matching, explanation building, time series analysis, and repeated observations. The findings reveal that IRE learning applies Project-Based Learning (PjBL) through stages of project design, problem identification, scheduling, research implementation, prototype development, assessment, finalization, and feedback. This model positively impacts students by increasing environmental awareness, fostering eco-friendly attitudes, strengthening social and spiritual responsibility, and reinforcing discipline and cooperation. Theoretically, this study contributes to the discourse on integrating IRE with environmental education through PjBL, while guiding teachers and schools to design IRE learning oriented toward ecological awareness. Future studies are recommended to quantitatively measure the effectiveness of PjBL, develop eco-friendly digital learning media, and conduct comparative studies across schools to identify the best implementation patterns.

Abstract

Kitab Kuning (Turats) is an Islamic intellectual tradition that must be preserved as an added value in Pesantren (Islamic Boarding Schools). Additionally, universities based on Islamic boarding schools have created an intriguing environment that must maintain the tradition of turats learning in academic settings while adhering to the general education trend. This research aimed to investigate 1) the implementation of turats learning at Kiai Abdullah Faqih University Gresik and 2) how the turats learning model contributes to developing student expertise at Kiai Abdullah Faqih University Gresik. The research employed a qualitative case study approach, employing data collection techniques such as documentation, archival recordings, interviews, and observations. These observations were analyzed using Yin theory, pattern matching, explanation, time series analysis, and repeated observations. The research results indicate that learning involves three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the interim, the turats learning model at Kiai Abdullah Faqih University Gresik is a contextual literacy learning (CLL) model that employs five learning syntaxes: determining material, text study, question and answer, task (contextual), and closing. This model is accompanied by learning approaches, methods, and techniques. Although this research has been restricted to a single research locus, it has yielded findings regarding the theoretical implications of the turats learning model in the development of student expertise at Islamic boarding school-based universities (Kiai Abdullah Faqih Gresik University) through the use of the contextual literacy learning (CLL) model.

Abstract

The revitalization of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) is a strategic effort to strengthen its role in adapting to the digital era's technological advances. This study aims to describe the revitalization of IRE through the professionalism of IRE teachers at MTsN Gresik, outlining their strategies to enhance professionalism and identify challenges faced. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, analyzed using pattern matching, explanation building, time-series analysis, and repeated observations. Findings reveal that IRE teachers enhance professionalism by leveraging technologies such as Smart TVs, PowerPoint, Canva, Quizizz, Google Classroom, and AI for interactive learning, engaging in continuous training, and collaborating via the Teacher Subject Discussion Group (MGMP). The madrasah supports this through digital-focused training and workshops. Challenges include limited digital facilities, insufficient direct interaction in online learning, and uneven technological proficiency among teachers. Solutions involve capacity building and cross-stakeholder collaboration to support digital transformation in education. This study contributes to understanding IRE teacher professionalism in the digital era, offering practical insights for technology-based learning strategies, although its scope is limited to one madrasah, suggesting broader future research.
