Abstract

In composite engineering, there are also known hybrid composite types which allow the presence of two or more reinforcing particles and are usually arranged by a straight type and a random type. In this research, hybrid composites are made from a combination of kevlar fiber and carbon twill fiber using the vacuum assisted resin infusion (VARI) method. This fiber will be made into a composite consisting of ten layers with a composition of six layers of kevlar fiber and 4 layers of carbon twill fibers. Vinylester resin is used as a matrix on the composite. The hybrid composite material was given post curing treatment and soaked by sea water. From the tensile test results obtained an average ultimate tensile strength (UTS) value of 314.38 MPa at post curing temperature of 100 °C, then the results of compressive test of the kevlar/carbon hybrid composite with ASTM D6641 obtained an average compress strength value of 87.76 MPa at 100 °C postcuring and the results of the kevlar + carbon-vinylester composite shear test with ASTM D5379 obtained an average shear strength value of 20.45 MPa at post curing room temperature.

Abstract

Chili cultivation activities in various regions encounter many problems. Therefore, this encouraged us to develop technology transfer on utilization of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens), Trichoderma , and organic fertilizer through community service activities. This activity was a collaboration between Institut Teknologi Bandung and Hasanuddin University to transfer knowledge and skills to farmer women group members on utilization of black soldier fly and beneficial microorganisms such as Trichoderma . Both agents could be employed in converting organic waste into organic fertilizer for chilli plantation plants in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The methodology used in this activity including explanation of the important role of both black soldier flies and Trichoderma  sp. in the chili cultivation system, compost making practices, as well as training and assistance during chili cultivation. Outputs in this activity were increased knowledge and skills of farmer women groups regarding the utilization of black soldier flies and Trichoderma , the ability to make compost, and increased skills of farmer women group members in chili cultivation. It can be concluded that the introduction of black soldier flies and Trichoderma  was responded very well by farmer women group members as well as fully supported by village officials and stakeholders at the activity site. Not only did farmer group members get new information and insights, but they also gained skills in the use of black soldier flies and Trichoderma  as biodecomposers and biofungicide agents. This activity was expected to increase the motivation of farmer women groups in improving the quality of life and independence in the family by optimizing their backyard for the cultivation of horticultural crops such as chili. The harvested chili was successful and subsequently delivered to consumers. The results of this activity were also disseminated at the National Seminar on Community Services, carried out by the Jurnal Dinamika Pengabdian, UNHAS in August 2019.Keywords: Farmer women group, black soldier fly, Trichoderma, organic fertilizer. ABSTRAKKendala yang dihadapi pada kegiatan budidaya cabai di berbagai daerah mendorong alih teknologi pemanfaatan lalat tentara hitam atau Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens), Trichoderma  serta pupuk organik melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan ini merupakan kolaborasi dari Institut Teknologi Bandung dan Universitas Hasanuddin yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada anggota kelompok wanita tani (KWT) dalam memanfaatkan lalat tentara hitam dan mikroorganisme bermanfaat seperti Trichoderma. Kedua agen hayati ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengkonversi limbah organik menjadi pupuk yang bermanfaat untuk budidaya tanaman cabai di Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Metode yang digunakan berupa penjelasan tentang peran lalat tentara hitam dan mikroorganisme Trichoderma  spp. dalam sistem budidaya tanaman cabai, praktik pembuatan kompos, serta pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam budidaya cabai. Luaran pada kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota KWT mengenai pemanfaatan lalat tentara hitam dan Trichoderma, kemampuan dalam membuat kompos, serta meningkatnya keterampilan anggota KWT dalam budidaya cabai. Dari kegiatan yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsep pengenalan lalat tentara hitam dan Trichoderma  kepada anggota KWT mendapat respons yang sangat baik serta didukung penuh oleh aparat desa dan berbagai pemangku kepentingan di lokasi penyuluhan. Anggota kelompok tani tidak hanya mendapat informasi dan wawasan baru, tetapi juga mereka mendapatkan keterampilan dalam pemanfaatan lalat tentara hitam dan Trichoderma  sebagai biodekomposer dan agen biofungisida. Budidaya cabai yang yang dilaksanakan oleh anggota KWT berproduksi dengan baik dan hasilnya dapat dijual kepada konsumen. Hasil kegiatan ini juga diseminarkan dalam Seminar Nasional Pengabdian Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh Jurnal Dinamika Pengabdian Pengabdian, UNHAS pada Agustus 2019.Kata kunci: Kelompok Wanita Tani, lalat tentara hitam, Trichoderma, pupuk organik.

Abstract

Mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem pesisir yang sangat penting karena memiliki fungsi ekologis serta ekonomis bagi masyarakat pesisir. Saat ini hutan mangrove mengalami kerusakan dari tekanan yang berat akibat pertumbuhan penduduk. Untuk mengurangi kerusakan mangrove maka perlu dilakukan upaya rehabilitasi mangrove. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan memetakan kesesuaian lahan untuk mengrove di Kecamatan Bontoa. Manfaat dari penelitian yaitu memberikan informasi tentang analisis kesesuaian lahan untuk rehabilitasi mangrove. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2011. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey lapangan dengan parameter kondisi arus, pasang surut, gelombang, suhu, salinitas, kondisi substrat dan kemiringan lereng. Data dianalisis dengan metode skoring dan diplot berdasarkan peta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua kategori kesesuaian yaitu sesuai dan cukup sesuai. Untuk jenis sesuai didapatkan jenis Rhizophora  spp, Avicennia  spp, Sonneratia alba , S. caseolaris , Bruguiera parvilofa  dan B. Xesangula . Sementara kategori cukup sesuai dari jenis B. gymnorhiza . Kondisi mangrove yang dapat direhabilitasi di Desa Ampelkale sebesar 55,375 ha, Desa Pajukuang 6,636 ha, dan Desa Bontobahari 16,011 ha.Kata kunci : kesesuaian lahan dan rehabilitasi ekosistem mangrove

Abstract

The existence of mangrove in coast areas have both ecologic and physical important functions.  Mangrove is a high productive ecosystem. Litters from fallen leaves and twigs are organic sources for macrozoobenthic life.  The aim of this research was to determine the response of macrozoobenthics on total organic matter content and other chemical-physico characters of sediments due to differences in mangrove conditions. This research was conducted from May to September 2016 in Sub-district of Ampallas, Distric of Mamuju, Province of West Sulawesi, Indonesia. Sediments in 20 cm2 transects were collected using small shovel to obtain the macrozoobenthic samples. The sediments contained macrozoobenthics were sieved using a 1 mm mesh size sieve net. Four sampling sites were chosen, each to represent areas with no mangroves, low, medium, and high densities.  The total of organic matter samples were collected using 2 inch diameter of PVC pipe cores, which were analyzed further using Loss by Ignition method.  Besides total of organic matter, several parameters (i.e. redox potential, sediment pH, salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen) were measured.  The results showed that gastropods dominated the existed macrozoobenthics.  Gastropods and oligochaete lived in greater amounts in high mangrove density site with higher organic matter content and fine substrate.Keywords: mangroves, macrozoobenthics, organic matter, Distric of Mamuju

Abstract

The Spermonde Archipelago is divided into four zones, the division of zones is based on the distribution of coral reefs, distance from the mainland, and water depth, but this condition tends to change as a result of high anthropogenic activity in the Spermonde Islands. Based on this, it is very necessary to re-zoning the Spermonde Archipelago Waters based on the condition of nutrient distribution. The research method uses the integration of remote sensing data analysis, field surveys, and secondary data which are then analyzed using the Boleean method for re-zoning. The results showed that the nutrient, in this case, chlorophyll-a, was concentrated in the deep zone (near the mainland) and the concentration was higher during the rainy season, this condition affected the coral reef cover in the Spermonde Islands. Based on these conditions, the Spermonde Islands waters are divided into three zones, namely the inner zone with high nutrient conditions with a benthic cover dominated by fleshy macroalgae, the middle zone with low nutrient conditions with crustose coralline dominance, and the outer zone with low nutrient conditions with algal turf dominance turf alga/corals.

Abstract

Conventional door security systems, such as padlocks and manual keys, have weaknesses, including vulnerability to duplication and the risk of loss. Biometric-based systems, such as facial recognition, offer a more reliable solution through unique user identification. This study develops a door security system using the Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) method for facial recognition, complemented by fingerprint verification as an additional security layer and real-time notifications via the Telegram application. The LBPH method was chosen for its ease of implementation and processing speed, although it has limitations such as sensitivity to lighting changes and potential recognition errors due to similar facial textures. The system utilizes LBPH for initial authentication, followed by fingerprint verification. Users also receive real-time notifications via Telegram to monitor access attempts. Testing showed a facial recognition accuracy of 85% under bright lighting conditions at distances of 30–150 cm, but it decreased to 65% in dim lighting. Fingerprint verification took approximately 2 seconds, while notification delivery required 1–2 seconds on a stable internet network. This system enhances security by ensuring only registered users can unlock the door. If facial recognition fails, the door remains locked without valid fingerprint verification.Keywords - Face Recognition, Fingerprint Sensor, LBPH, Security System, Telegram Notification.

Abstract

Agriculture is an important sector in the Indonesian economy, with vegetables such as mustard greens (Brassica juncea) that have high economic value and are important for the healthy diet of the community. One of the main challenges in mustard cultivation is the optimal management of soil moisture, as unstable moisture levels can affect the quality and quantity of the harvest. This research aims to design and implement an automatic irrigation system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology using the ESP32 microcontroller and soil moisture sensors, as well as applying Mamdani Fuzzy logic to manage irrigation adaptively. This system is capable of increasing water usage efficiency by up to 50% by maintaining soil moisture at optimal levels, which positively impacts the growth of mustard plants. In addition, this system allows for remote monitoring through an IoT application, making it easier for farmers to manage irrigation more efficiently. The research results show that the implementation of this automated system not only reduces dependence on manual labor but also ensures more efficient water usage, thereby providing an innovative solution for irrigation efficiency in the agricultural sector.  Keywords - ESP32, Mamdani Fuzzy, Smart Irrigation System, Soil Moisture.

Abstract

Persediaan adalah aset yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan yang tersedia untuk dijual atau barang yang akandigunakan dalam produksi produk perusahaan. Dengan persediaan, perusahaan dapat mempertahankan keberlanjutan. Perusahaan sering mengalami masalah dalam pencatatan dan penilaian persediaan diri. Tujuan dilakukannya observasi pada PT. SENTRUM BANGKIT SENTOSA untuk menganalisis apakah penilaian pencatatan metode sistem persediaan PT. SENTRUM BANGKIT SENTOSA sesuai dengan Pernyataan Standar Akuntansi Keuangan (PSAK) Nomor 14 tentang persediaan. Jenis penelitian adalah riset deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa catatan persediaan perusahaan menggunakan sistem penilaian dan pencatatan menggunakan metode FIFO (First-in first out). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pencatatan akuntansi persediaan barang dagangan telah sesuai dengan PSAK 14 tentang persediaan.

Abstract

Pop-up advertisements are a widely used form of digital marketing communication, including on video-sharing platforms such as YouTube. However, the intrusive nature of pop-up ads often disrupts users’ primary activities, such as watching educational videos or other instructional content. This study aims to rationally evaluate the effectiveness of YouTube pop-up advertisements on students’ comprehension at SMK Amaliah 2 Ciawi Bogor. The evaluation focuses on three key aspects: message clarity, information relevance to students’ needs or interests, and the frequency of ad appearances, which may affect concentration and information retention. This research employs a quantitative approach with descriptive and associative design, utilizing a cluster random sampling technique to gather representative data. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires distributed to students across various departments. The results indicate that the strategic design and placement of visual messages in pop-up advertisements have a significant influence on students’ comprehension of the ad content. These findings contribute to the development of more effective and contextual digital marketing communication strategies, particularly in educational settings that require communicative approaches that are not only engaging but also informative and supportive of the learning process. Hal ini disebabkan oleh karakteristik iklan pop-up yang sering kali mengganggu aktivitas utama pengguna, seperti menonton video pembelajaran atau konten edukatif lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi secara rasional efektivitas iklan pop-up YouTube terhadap pemahaman siswa SMK Amaliah 2 Ciawi Bogor. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan tiga aspek utama, yaitu kejelasan pesan yang disampaikan, relevansi informasi dengan kebutuhan atau minat siswa, serta frekuensi kemunculan iklan yang dapat memengaruhi konsentrasi dan daya serap informasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif dan asosiatif, serta teknik pengambilan sampel cluster random sampling untuk memperoleh data yang representatif. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada siswa dari berbagai jurusan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain visual dan penempatan pesan iklan yang strategis memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap isi pesan iklan. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan strategi komunikasi pemasaran digital yang lebih efektif dan kontekstual, khususnya di lingkungan pendidikan yang memerlukan pendekatan komunikatif yang tidak hanya menarik, tetapi juga informatif dan mendukung proses belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy implemented by Byme Hijab Store Jember through the live feature on the Tiktok social media application, with a marketing mix approach and sharia marketing principles. The research method used is qualitative descriptive and SWOT analysis to identify supporting and inhibiting factors, with the main sources being the owner of the convection and the person in charge of marketing. The results of the study show that Byme Hijab Store Jember has succeeded in utilizing the four variables in the marketing mix (product, price, place, and promotion) while maintaining a commitment to sharia principles. Some of the main supporting variables are product quality and the use of social media, while inhibiting variables include limited resources and tight competition. In conclusion, despite the challenges, the strategy implemented by Byme Hijab Store Jember has a major impact on the profits they get.
