Abstract

The preparation of teaching and learning schedules is often problematic, one of the reasons being the limited number of teachers, which means that one teacher has to teach several classes at the same time. This research is an applied study that aims to obtain a teaching and learning schedule without overlap by applying graph coloring using the Welch-Powell Improvement method. Graph coloring using the Welch-Powell Improvement method is a solution to solve scheduling problems at SMAN 7 Mataram. Based on the scheduling data, an adjacency matrix with a size of 898×898 and a chromatic number of 27 was obtained. The adjacency matrix was determined with the help of the Python programming language. The schedule was compiled by first creating a scheduling conflict graph based on the lesson schedule data, then coloring the graph using the Welch-Powell Improvement algorithm. Based on the coloring results obtained, the schedule was compiled by considering each node color. Subjects with the same color were scheduled at the same time and vice versa. The resulting class schedule was free of overlaps. This was because the chromatic number obtained in the graph coloring was smaller than the available time slots at SMAN 7 Mataram.

Abstract

Background of this research is many student errors at solving linear equation systems with two variables problems. The research aim is to know the kinds and level of errors at solving linear equation systems with two variables problems. This research is descriptive quantitative. The subject of this study is 30 students grade 7 from one of junior high school at Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. A data collection done by tested and interviewed. The error of the problem solving that could analyze were a reading error, comprehension, transformation, process skills and encoding. Result of the research indicate that percentage of reading error was 17.78% (too low category), comprehension error was 55.56% (middle category), transformation error was 18.52% (too low category), process skills error was 36.67% (low category) and encoding error was 83.70% (too high category).

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world in 2020 has forced all educational institutions, including the University of Mataram, to quickly adapt to online learning systems. In response to this, the Laboratory of Educational Development and Learning Technology (LPPTP) FKIP, University of Mataram held online mentoring activities aimed at improving lecturers' competence in utilizing the Zoom and Moodle platforms as a means of distance learning. This activity was carried out through several interactive training sessions involving experienced facilitators and attended by all lecturers in the department. The training materials included mastery of Zoom features for synchronous lectures and the use of Moodle as a Learning Management System for managing online classes. The results of the mentoring showed an increase in the technical and pedagogical abilities of lecturers in designing and implementing online learning more effectively and interactively. Evaluation of activities through questionnaires and open discussions indicated that this activity was very useful and relevant to learning needs during the crisis. This activity is also the first step towards a more structured and sustainable digital transformation of education in the FKIP environment of the University of Mataram.

Abstract

Good quality service for refueling fuel oil (BBM) at gas stations was vital for today's society. However, the service quality at gas stations has not been known until now. One of the gas stations that were strategic in Mataram city, namely SPBU 54.832.03 on Jl. Majapahit Pagesangan. One of the factors affecting the quality of gas station services is the availability of the number of dispensers that services customer at the gas station. Therefore, the research of the optimal gas station service's optimal condition was based on the number of dispensers of fuel. We use the distribution of arrival times of customers and service times at the gas stations. On the observation, we use two kinds of fuel dispensers, namely the dispenser of Premium and Pertalite for the motorcycle. The Monte Carlo simulation method shows that the optimal number of dispensers for the SPBU is three nozzles for Premium dispensers and 4 for Pertalite Motorcycle dispensers.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 12 Mataram during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consisted of two cycles. Each cycle included four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 14 students. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, and observation sheets. The findings revealed that before the implementation of the TGT cooperative learning model, the average student score was 59.1, with only 14.3% of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). After the implementation of the TGT model, the average score increased to 83.2, and 92.2% of students successfully achieved the KKM. The improvement indicated that the TGT cooperative learning model effectively enhanced students’ conceptual understanding and participation in mathematics learning. The success of this model was supported by active learning activities that encouraged students to think critically, collaborate, and engage in group discussions. Therefore, the TGT cooperative learning model is recommended as an effective strategy to improve mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the interest and learning outcomes of elementary school students by using domino card game media. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects used in this study were 27 students of Elementary School 12 Mataram Class 3. Data collection techniques used were observation, tests, questionnaires and documentation. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive. The results of the study showed an increase in learning interest and learning outcomes of students by implementing domino card game media. This can be seen from the increase in the percentage of student learning interest before the implementation of domino card game media reached 61.4 percent which means in the good category to 87 percent which means in the very good category after receiving the implementation of domino card game media. Learning outcomes also increased with an average cognitive result of 49.9 to 78.5 with an N-Gain of 0.6 which is categorized as medium. Therefore, the implementation of domino card games in elementary schools, especially at SDN 12 Mataram, is one way to improve the quality of education at the school, which is evident in the students' enjoyment, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the learning process. Students experience a fun learning process, which leads to a deeper understanding of the material. Their enthusiasm for completing and correctly answering each question in the domino card game has resulted in improved learning outcomes.

Abstract

Difficult integral problems that cannot be solved analytically often require numerical approaches. PHP (Perl Hypertexr Prepocessor) programming has become one of the tools that can be used to solve numerical problems. This research aims to develop a numerical integration program using the Simpson 3/8 method and Romberg method on polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric functions with PHP programming, as well as to compare the efficiency of both methods based on relative error and execution time. Based on the implementation of the algorithms of both methods in PHP programming, the research results show that the average error for the Simpson 3/8 method and Romberg method are 0,013787% and 0,001356%, respectively. The comparison of errors between these two methods indicates that the Romberg method is 9,89% more accurate than the Simpson 3/8 method. However, in terms of program execution time, the Simpson 3/8 method requires less time compared to the Romberg method. The average execution time for the Simpson 3/8 method and Romberg method are 0,00117 seconds and 1,77811 seconds, respectively, and the comparison of execution time between these two methods shows that the Simpson 3/8 method is shorter than the Romberg method when using the same number of iterations.

Abstract

Numeracy is a fundamental competency that should be developed through innovative mathematics learning. However, the use of digital technology by teachers to support numeracy learning remains limited. This community service program aimed to enhance the competencies of junior high school mathematics teachers in West Lombok Regency in developing and implementing numeracy learning through Augmented Reality (AR) using Assemblr EDU. The program involved 20 mathematics teachers who are members of the Mathematics Teachers Association (MGMP) of West Lombok Regency through training, media development practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The evaluation results showed that participants were able to independently develop AR-based learning media. A total of 95% of participants stated that the training materials met their needs, improved their skills in utilizing educational technology, and helped visualize abstract mathematical concepts in a more concrete and engaging way. In addition, 90% of participants expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the program. This activity contributed to strengthening teachers’ digital competencies and supporting the implementation of more innovative and interactive numeracy learning.

Abstract

The low level of students’ understanding of geometric concepts and the lack of contextual teaching materialsmake mathematics learning tend to be abstract and less engaging. In addition, mathematics learning inschools is still rarely connected to local culture that is closely related to students’ daily lives. Learning thatintegrates local culture can create a more meaningful learning experience for students. Ethnomathematicsbasede-modules can visualize geometric concepts through cultural exploration as a learning medium. Thisstudy aimed to describe the development and determine the validity of an ethnomathematics-based geometrye-module integrating Sasak culture through woven fabric exploration for seventh-grade students at SMPN 6Mataram. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using Thiagarajan’s 4Dmodel, consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. Data from material and media expertevaluations were analyzed using Aiken’s V formula. The results indicated that the developed e-module washighly valid, with a media validity score of 0.86, a material validity score of 0.82, and an overall averagevalidity score of 0.84. Therefore, the interactive website-based e-module is theoretically highly valid for useas a supplementary teaching material in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh locus of control terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Mataram tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan ex-post facto. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 180 siswa kelas XI MIPA, dengan sampel sebanyak 45 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified cluster random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket locus of control dan tes uraian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial berupa regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa locus of control dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa secara umum berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan locus of control terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa, yang ditunjukkan oleh persamaan regresi Y = 15,336 + 0,636X , dan uji F nilai signifikannya adalah Sig. = 0,000 < 0,05. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,491, menunjukkan bahwa locus of control memberikan kontribusi sebesar 49,1% terhadap kemampuan pemecahan maslaah matematika siswa. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan locus of control yang lebih baik cenderung memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, locus of control memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa.
