Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems on two-variable linear equation system material based on the locus of control in grade VIII students. This study used qualitative methods to obtain a sample of 72 students using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques use locus of control questionnaire instruments and problem-solving ability test questions. The results of this study showed that students with a strong external locus of control were only able to reach a step of understanding the problem. Meanwhile, students with a balanced internal and external locus of control can reach two steps namely, understanding the problems and devising a strategy. This happens because, students with a strong external locus of control, as well as students with a balanced internal and external locus of control, are less trying and less active in seeking information related to the problems at hand, and are easily influenced by others. Meanwhile, students with a strong internal locus of control can reach three steps namely, understanding the problems, devising a strategy, and carrying out the strategy. This happens because students have a strong internal locus of control easily satisfied with the results they get with the effort they make.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the learning styles of students at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela. This research uses a descriptive quantitative research design. The research population was all class XI students at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela, with the research sample being class XI students majoring in religion. Data collection techniques use questionnaire instruments and observation sheets. The data obtained in the research was then analyzed descriptively. Based on the research that has been carried out, the results show that the percentage of students' visual, kinesthetic, and auditory learning styles at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela is 56%, 24%, and 20%. The tendency for students at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela to have the highest learning style is the visual learning style.

Abstract

Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN) menjadi salah satu upaya pemerintah dalam menanamkan minat, motivasi dan bakat peserta didik terhadap ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan sains (IPTEKS). Bidang informatika dan komputer menjadi salah satu mata lomba yang masih dirasakan sulit oleh peserta, karena selain dituntut untuk menguasai bahasa pemrograman, para peserta juga harus memiliki pengetahuan matematika yang kokoh. Kegiatan pendampingan OSN bertujuan untuk memberikan penguatan materi bidang informatika dan komputer, dimana kegiatan ini meliputi tiga fase utama, yaitu perencanaan, implementasi, dan pelaksanaan OSN (evaluasi) pada tingkat provinsi. Dua siswa di MAN 2 Mataram menjadi peserta dalam kegiatan ini dan mereka dibimbing oleh dua orang dosen dan satu guru sekolah. Hasil pembinaan menunjukkan bahwa (i) dosen berkolaborasi dengan guru dapat membuat silabus materi OSN-P bidang informatika berdasarkan karakteristik mata lomba dan kebutuhan peserta didik, (ii) penggunaan metode drill practice memperkuat pengetahuan matematis yang telah dimiliki untuk memecahkan masalah, dan (iii) evaluasi pelaksanaan OSN menunjukkan bahwa siswa MAN 2 Mataram berhasil menjadi juara dan berhak mewakili provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat di tingkat Nasional. Di masa mendatang, kegiatan penguatan materi OSN bidang informatika melalui kolaborasi guru dan dosen perlu diterapkan secara luas serta melibatkan unsur lain, seperti para alumni OSN. Selain itu, kajian kualitatif maupun kuantitatif perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui dampak kegiatan penguatan materi OSN yang telah dilaksanakan baik itu dari aspek kognitif, psikomotorik dan afektif siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa  Kelas VIII SMPN 13 Mataram Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 dan mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap implementasi pembelajaran berbasis lesson study. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tahapan-tahapan yang berlaku dalam pembelajaran berbasis lesson study. Pelaksanaannya berlangsung 3 siklus disesuaikan dengan alokasi waktu dan materi pokok bahasan yang dipilih. Tiap siklus terdiri dari plan, do dan see. Lokasi penelitian di SMPN 13 Mataram, pelaksanaan Juli – November 2017. Subyek penelitian Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 13 Mataram. Pegumpulan data dengan teknik dokumentasi, observasi, dan tes. Instrumen meliputi : lembar observasi, tes hasil belajar. Data hasil observasi dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui kualitas proses belajar mengajar dan kemajuan hasil belajar. Sedang peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan psikomotorik dilakukan dengan membandingkan pencapaian skor individu maupun kelompok dari hasil tes. Adapun luaran yang diperoleh berupa perangkat pembelajaran yang mencerminkan penerapan pembelajaran berbasis lesson study dan publikasi ilmiah di jurnal

Abstract

Preservice mathematics teachers will eventually become mathematics teachers and teach mathematics in schools to students. Therefore, it is important to assess the numeracy skills of preservice mathematics teachers to develop their numeracy skills, which will positively impact students once they start teaching in schools. This study aims to describe the numeracy skills of preservice mathematics teachers about numeracy, including how well they can explore mathematical concepts in problems related to numeracy. This study is a qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study are 28 mathematics education students from the University of Mataram. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires and tasks containing numeracy problems using the Sasak cultural context. Data analysis employs descriptive qualitative analysis, which includes data transcription, categorization, data presentation, description of the numeracy skills of teacher candidates, and conclusion. The results show that, in general, students have not been able to distinguish between numeracy and mathematics. Additionally, students still face difficulties in designing numeracy-oriented learning, especially using the socio-cultural context

Abstract

The metric dimension is a fundamental concept in graph theory that utilizes the vector representation of distances between vertices and a subset of vertices in a graph. This concept has broad applications in various fields, such as navigation, network localization, and network design. Let G(V,E) be a connected graph with order n . A subset L={v1,v2,v3} subset of V(G) is called a resolving set, and the representation of a vertex v with respect to L is a vector (d(v,v1), d(v,v2)..d(v,vk)) , where d(v,vi) is the distance between v and vi . The metric dimension of G, denoted as dim(G), is the smallest cardinality of L such that every vertex in G has a unique representation. The windmill graph K1+nK3 is a graph obtained by connecting a vertex x in the complete graph K1 to every vertex in n copies of the complete graph K3. This paper employs a structural analysis method focused on the single vertex in K1 and determines the vector representations of all vertices in the windmill graph by analyzing inter-vertex distances. The final result shows that the metric dimension, dim (K1+nK3)= 2n, where n is an integer grether than 2 .

Abstract

Difficult integral problems that cannot be solved analytically often require numerical approaches. PHP (Perl Hypertexr Prepocessor) programming has become one of the tools that can be used to solve numerical problems. This research aims to develop a numerical integration program using the Simpson 3/8 method and Romberg method on polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric functions with PHP programming, as well as to compare the efficiency of both methods based on relative error and execution time. Based on the implementation of the algorithms of both methods in PHP programming, the research results show that the average error for the Simpson 3/8 method and Romberg method are 0,013787% and 0,001356%, respectively. The comparison of errors between these two methods indicates that the Romberg method is 9,89% more accurate than the Simpson 3/8 method. However, in terms of program execution time, the Simpson 3/8 method requires less time compared to the Romberg method. The average execution time for the Simpson 3/8 method and Romberg method are 0,00117 seconds and 1,77811 seconds, respectively, and the comparison of execution time between these two methods shows that the Simpson 3/8 method is shorter than the Romberg method when using the same number of iterations.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between the perceptions of class VIII students at SMPN 13 Mataram regarding mathematics and their learning persistence, partially with learning outcomes, and the influence of both simultaneously on learning outcomes. The type of research used is ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. The research instruments used were perception questionnaires, study persistence questionnaires, and tests on SPLDV material. The research sampling technique used simple random sampling, using 30 class VIII students at SMPN 13 Mataram as samples. Before taking samples, a homogeneity test was carried out on the population, it was found that the population was homogeneous. The results of this study show that there is a relationship between perceptions and learning outcomes, but with a relatively low correlation. Likewise, between persistence and learning outcomes, there is a relationship with a correlation that is classified as very low. The correlation test results are 0.253 and 0.162, respectively. However, simultaneously, perceptions and learning outcomes have a significant influence on learning outcomes. This is shown by Fcount (3.682) > Ftable (3.35). The regression equation obtained is Ŷ = 0.8 + 0.6X1 + 0.1X2.

Abstract

PT. Pertamina (Persero) is one of the providers of refueling services in Indonesia. The role of Fuel Oil (BBM) is very important in people's lives, so to meet fuel needs, this company has built a Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU). Petrol stations are a means to distribute fuel oil. As one of the companies that provide fuel in Indonesia, this company must pay attention to the quality of service. One of the strategic petrol stations in Mataram City is the petrol station 54.832.12 Jl. Gajah Mada Pagesangan, Mataram City. The large number of pertalite refueling during peak times in the morning and evening at this petrol station resulted in queues, so a study was carried out on the optimal condition of petrol station services based on the number of noozles using the Monte Carlo simulation method, by modifying the generation of random numbers using the Linear Congruent Method (LCM) random number generation. The simulation is carried out based on the arrival time and service time taken every 3 minutes 100 times. By conducting simulations 500 times and as many as 10 activities, optimal conditions were analyzed based on the number of noozles. The results obtained show that as many as 4 noozles are needed on the pertalite motorcycle dispenser to get optimal conditions because the average remaining queue is close to 1, which is 1.51 vehicles, and the Pertalite Car dispenser is enough with 1 noozle, the average remaining queue is close to 1, which is 1.62 vehicles.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the number of students who have difficulty in understanding geometric transformation material, this can be seen from the low daily test results, lack of understanding of basic concepts, inability to solve varied problems, and difficulty in determining coordinates appropriately. One of the main factors causing these problems is the lack of use of interactive learning media that can actively involve students in the learning process, as well as the dominance of conventional learning methods. This research aims to develop interactive media with a geogebra-based website that is valid and practical. This research uses the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Data collection techniques include observation, interview, validation questionnaire, and practicality questionnaire. The validation questionnaire was analyzed using Aiken's V formula, while the practicality was analyzed using the practicality score. The developed media has been tested on students of class IX-A at SMPN 9 Mataram. The results showed that the interactive media with a geogebra-based website was included in the very valid category with a score of 84.5% and very practical with a score of 94.2%.
