Abstract

This research aims to do two things. First, it aims to make a computer adaption test (CAT) for Islamic subjects for the santri in ABC Pesantren. Second, it aims to see the results of the CAT test for Islamic subjects in the production of Learning Medical Records. The records is for diagnosing students' abilities. This research consists of two parts using the research and development (R&D) approach: 1). We collected the data by observing, documenting, and interviewing. We analyzed the data using the concept of reliability among the raters/respondents. We used the generalizability coefficient in Genova 3.1. We analyzed the results using numbers. They describe data from RMP technology education. The research shows that: (1) the CAT can be made based on user needs. It's Internet-based, user-friendly, interactive, highly secure, and easily accessible. (2) The CAT can recognize three different users: school management, teachers, and students. (3) The expert evaluation's quantitative data has high consistency: 0.76. It comes from single, small group, and large group outcomes. (4) The CAT can accurately estimate students' abilities and record learning records. The software uses the triangle decision tree method. It can pick test items and measure ability well. This is clear from the correlation (r) between ability and the software's CAT scores.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the development of mathematical representation abilities through PBL. This research approach is quantitative. The population in this study was 150 students in class VII of SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh, while the sample was 23 students in class VII-5. The data collec-tion technique was carried out through tests with mathematical representation ability test instru-ments which were carried out after each lesson. The data analysis technique for mathematical rep-resentation abilities is carried out by comparing students' answers to mathematical representation abilities in each lesson based on indicators of mathematical representation abilities, namely visual, symbolic and verbal. The results of the research show that students' mathematical representation abilities develop in various ways. The first indicator of mathematical representation ability is pre-senting data from a problem in the form of pictures, diagrams, graphs or tables. At the first meeting 10 out of 23 students complied, then at the second meeting 13 students met, at the third meeting 16 students complied, and the fourth meeting 20 students complied. The second indicator is solving problems involving mathematical expressions. At the first meeting 9 out of 23 students complied, then at the second meeting 12 students complied, at the third meeting 14 students complied, and at the fourth meeting 19 students complied. The third indicator is processing scientific language at the level of words, phrases and sentences. At the first meeting 12 out of 23 students fulfilled it, then at the second meeting 13 students fulfilled it, at the third meeting 15 out of 23 students fulfilled it, and at the fourth meeting 17 out of 23 students fulfilled the third indicator.

Abstract

Computational Thinking (CT) is an essential 21st-century skill to prepare students for higher education and future careers. However, comprehensive insights into how CT is effectively implemented in mathematics learning regarding strategies, suitable topics, and integration trends are still limited. This systematic review explores empirical studies on CT in mathematics education from December 2019 to November 2024, sourced from Emerald, EBSCO, and ProQuest databases. Following PRISMA guidelines, 22 articles were selected from an initial 8,518 based on defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings show that CT strongly supports students’ problem-solving skills, particularly through Project-Based Learning (PjBL), which fosters engagement, collaboration, and algorithmic thinking. Geometry and statistics emerged as the most effective topics for developing CT, as they promote decomposition, pattern recognition, and abstraction skills aligned with junior high school cognitive development. Although CT-related research varies in focus, integrating CT into mathematics remains vital, especially with the rise of digital tools and interdisciplinary learning. This review provides insight into current research trends, key strategies, and appropriate mathematical content for CT development. Recommendations include providing CT training for teachers, embedding CT into the curriculum, and encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration to equip students with the digital-age competencies needed for real-world problem-solving and conceptual understanding.
