Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of Molluscs and Arthropods in the estuary ecosystem of Gampong Jawa, Kuta Raja District, Banda Aceh, and to develop the results of the study as a Zoology teaching module. Sampling was carried out from 22 to 28 May 2013, with two repetitions and an observation interval of twice a day. The method used was a line transect with a purposive sampling technique, using three line transects and three observation plots. Data analysis used the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson dominance index, Pielou evenness index, and density formula. The results showed that there were 768 individuals divided into 26 species. The diversity index (H') of Molluscs and Arthropods ranged from 2.55-2.61, dominance index 0.072-0.451, evenness index 1.042-1.094. The level of diversity of Molluscs and Arthropods in the area is relatively high. Based on the research results, a Zoology teaching module was developed that integrates knowledge about the diversity of Molluscs and Arthropods in the local estuarine ecosystem. This module is designed to improve students' understanding of local biodiversity and the importance of estuarine ecosystem conservation. In conclusion, the Gampong Jawa estuarine ecosystem has a high diversity of Molluscs and Arthropods, and the results of this study can be used as a contextual learning resource in teaching Zoology.

Abstract

Keberadaan masyarakat pesisir sering  terlupakan  dan kurang mendapat perhatian dari  pemerintahan dalam peningkatan pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat terutama para  nelayan. Upaya dari pemberdayaan masyarakat nelayan berdampak pada rendahnya tingkat pendapatan masyarakat nelayan dan kemudian berdampak pada sektor penghasilan tidak mencukupi. Keadaan ini juga dapat mempengaruhi bidang ekonomi keluarga menjadi semakin lemah terutama para nelayan di pesisir Alue Naga. Rendahnya kemampuan sumber daya manusia cara pengelola sentra ekonomi kreatif, home industri, produksi usaha micro,  belum menerapkan tampilan kemasan produk yang berkualitas. Bagian pemodalan yang kecil,  serta sistem pemasaran  yang masih sederhana belum memanfaatan teknologi informasi/ media  iklan dalam menjual produk mereka. Kami berharap pada kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan dan kreatifitas para nelayan pesisir sebagai pelaku wirausaha home industri dalam mengelola usahany dengan baik. Mereka dilatih dalam cara proses produksi yang berkualitas hygenis,  sistem pemasaran yang terkoneksi sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat pesisir.  Melalui kerjasama  dengan  pihak Universitas Serambi Mekkah  yang terdapat di sekitar Banda Aceh dapat membantu para nelayan. Melalui tahapan kegiatan yang diawali dengan sosialisasi dalam bentuk,  Forum Group Discussion (FGD) dengan para nelayan  pelaksanaan workshop/pelatihan peningkatan proses produksi, pengelolaan sistem pemasaran berbasis teknologi informasi. Dalam kegiatan ini sebagai pelaku kegiatan industri rumah tangga kami berharap dapat meningkatan ekonomi kreatif  usaha kecil bagi nelayan pesisir

Abstract

Learning loss has an impact on various problems, including misconceptions by students when recognizing and learning algebraic operations. This research aims to identify the profile of students' misconceptions in algebraic concepts as a consequence of learning loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic in public junior high school in Banda Aceh. The study adopts a quantitative approach. The population of the research consists of all eighth-grade students in public junior high school in Banda Aceh and the sample comprises 27 students from one of these schools. The sample was obtained through purposive sampling, selecting students from the top-ranked junior high school in Banda Aceh, known for having the highest average scores. Misconceptions were assessed using an online-based cognitive diagnostic test on algebraic concepts. Data analysis was conducted by examining the composition of misconceptions based on their types. The research findings indicate that the majority of students experience misconceptions, with 25.20% experiencing misconceptions in notation, 20.37% in generalization, 8.98% in understanding symbols, 9.97% in applying rules, 1.14% in notation and generalization, 0.57% in notation and understanding symbols, and 2% in generalization and applying rules. This study indicates a necessity to an analysis of the causes of misconceptions and efforts to minimize students' misconceptions in algebraic concepts, such as implementing cognitive conflict learning or remedial teaching.

Abstract

Secara geografis, Desa Santan terletak lebih kurang lima kilometer dari pusat kota Banda Aceh dan berada dalam wilayah Kabupataen Aceh Besar. Desa Santan mempunyai 75,72% balita gizi kurang baik, 14% balita kategori kurus dan 10,3% balita dengan status stunting. Dominasi isu masalah gizi selalu berkaitan dengan tidak dilaksanakannya menu sima pada anggota keluarga. Sekitar 62% balita tidak mendapatkan menu sima dengan baik, tanpa pemberian ASI eksklusif sebesar 14%, kebiasaan tidak mengkonsumsi lauk pauk dan buah (27%). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan sebagai upaya dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya upaya pencegahan stunting secara dini bagi ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan ibu hamil serta kesadaran kader posyandu di Desa Santan, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode yang digunakan adalah memberikan penyuluhan berkala tentang stunting kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan ibu hamil serta kesadaran kader posyandu agar terbentuk konsep untuk pencegahan stunting di Desa Santan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan ibu hamil serta kesadaran kader posyandu dari 45,9 nilai pre test menjadi 54,1 pada post test. Menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan pengetahuan ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan ibu hamil serta kesadaran kader posyandu tentang pencegahan stunting sebesar 9,90. Oleh sebab itu perlu dukungan pemerintah desa, kecamatan dan kabupaten atas penyediaan dana/ anggaran bagi pencegahan stunting warga Desa Santan Kabupaten Aceh Besar.

Abstract

The asesmen kemampuan minimum or Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) is a new form of assessment in Indonesia implemented in several schools since 2021. Implementing MCA aims to prepare students for the skills needed in the 21st century. However, the availability of MCA-type mathematics problems is still limited for learning in printed books and online-based media. This research aims to produce MCA-like mathematics problems using financial contexts in algebra that are valid, practical, and effective. This research employed a development study consisting of six stages: preliminary, self-evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, and field test stages. The test subjects were 85 students of grade 11 in one vocational high school in Sigli, Aceh, Indonesia. The research instruments were a validation sheet, an interview sheet, and a practicality and effectiveness test questionnaire. This research has produced 21 MCA-type items with a financial context in algebra that is valid, practical, and effective. Therefore, the generated mathematics problems can be used by teachers to improve students' numeracy and financial literacy skills.

Abstract

Noticing is the teacher's ability to pay attention to critical moments during learning. The noticing ability of preservice mathematics teachers can be trained by watching video recordings of teaching practices. However, there are limited video clips that can be used as teaching materials to develop the noticing abilities of preservice mathematics teachers. Therefore, this study aims to identify the characteristic of preservice mathematics teachers ability to notice. Video clips consist of a series of significant moments to observe. This research used a survey of moments in video recordings of preservice mathematics teachers when noticing their students' thinking in the learning process. The data analysis was based on learning video clips, containing the complexity of noticing problems related to the preservice mathematics teachers ability. The results indicated that the identified video clips, recordings of classroom interactions, featured teacher activities such as asking, guiding, responding, and assisting students. However, the preservice teachers demonstrated a low ability to notice, particularly in the interpreting and shaping aspects. These video clips, specifically those that highlight these teacher activities, can be utilized as learning tools in teacher development programs to enhance preservice teachers' noticing skills, especially in interpreting and shaping aspects.

Abstract

Creative thinking ability of students is still low and less attention in the implementation of the learning of mathematics. Some efforts are needed to foster creative thinking ability because of lack of creative thinking ability in the learning of mathematics. One of effort is applying Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. The purpose of this research was (1) to describe the creative thinking ability of students during the learning process with PBL Model, and (2) to determine the increase of the creative thinking ability of students after implementation of PBL model. This research used mixed methods with concurrent triangulation strategy. Samples were selected by random sampling from all grade 8 students from one of junior high school at Banda Aceh, those were 28 students in class VIII-3. The instrument used to obtain data of the creative thinking ability of students after learning with PBL Model was test and observation. The instrument used to obtain data to determine the increase of the students creative thinking ability after learning with the PBL model were pretest and posttest. Test and observations were analyzed by using an assessment rubric of creative thinking abilities with descriptive qualitative method. The result of pretest and posttest were analyzed by statistical tests using t-test. The results showed that the students were creative in solving problems during the learning process with model of PBL. There was increasing creative thinking abilities of students after learning with PBL Model. The implication of this research indicates that creative thinking abilities of students increase through PBL model.

Abstract

Abstract. Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) of teachers is an important aspect of professional teachers. PCK teacher originally developed through a process of education at the Institute of Education of Teaching. In addition to theoretical study, during LPTK prospective teachers are also trained through the Training Field Experience (PPL) to gain concrete experience. Assistance for implementing PPL expected to increase PCK prospective teachers. It is for prospective teachers menjembatanikesenjangan understanding of the theory gained with experience gained. The purpose of research is to analyze the strategies of teaching prospective teachers who get assistance and determine the students' understanding is based on the strategy undertaken by prospective teachers. Subjects were a student of Mathematics Education who are conducting PPL and students in the first semester of the academic year 2015/2016 in SMPN 1 Banda Aceh. Data strategy to teach prospective teachers collected through observation of learning activities and interviews of prospective teachers and tests. Data were analyzed based on indicators PCK through the description of the implementation of learning activities prospective teachers. The result showed that the strategy of teaching prospective teachers who receive assistance are already using learning strategy and approach to scientific, it is in choosing the right strategy, the right to choose the context, effective in using time allocation, has designed activities that are appropriate to present the concept of algebra, linking concepts algebra with everyday life in instruction and implementing the learning process in accordance with the design of learning activities. Student understanding based teaching strategies prospective teachers who received student assistance is easy to understand the material and can solve problems that relate to the material.

Abstract

The concept of algebra prerequisites that must be understood by primary school teachers (SD) including: (1) concept of numbers and numerical operations, (2) the ratio/proportion, and (3) the order of operations. The third prerequisite concept also needs to be understood as a candidate in primary students in elementary uru. Lack of understanding of the concept of preconditions can lead to misconceptions in students. The researchers aim to analyze the misconceptions of what happens to students in primary prerequisite to the concept of algebra. The study involved five students in primary UIN Ar-Raniry. Data obtained through diagnostic tests and interviews so analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results showed that students in primary experiencing misconceptions on the concept of algebra prerequisites are: the concept of fractions, prime numbers, integers, mixed operations, and operations on fractions. The implication of the study is the need for efforts to improve understanding of student teachers, especially students in primary through appropriate measures.

Abstract

The learning process of mathematics, especially the one related to the characteristic of cylinder, at elementary school or at the other higher level of school only required the students to memorize the concept of it without comprehending its meaning. Based on that reason, it is a need to have an appropriate learning approach to help the students in understanding the characteristics of cylinder. This research aims to describe the learning activity of cylinder characteristic by using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). There were five students of grade V from SDN 3 Sigli who were involved in this study.Byusing the approach, the students were motivated to learn about cylinder characteristics more meaningfully. The use of the appropriate context that matches with the students culture also became a strong foundation for them in possessing a meaningful experience toward the material. It also can lead them to have more formal learning experiences (identifying the characteristics of cylinder). There were three kinds of activities that are conducted in the study and were related to introduction the characteristicsof cylinder. They were glueing by using different colour, drawing a tissue place, and unloading the model of the tissue place. The use of concrete objects that relates to the culture of the students to develop their ability in understanding the material of the cylinder was the first step in learning the cylinder volume concept
