Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal olimpiade SMP konten aljabar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah perwakilan siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Palembang dengan jumlah siswa 22 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian adalah tes tertulis dan wawancara. Analisis data tes dan wawancara mengikuti prosedur Newman Error Analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal olimpiade SMP konten aljabar terdiri dari kesalahan dalam memahami soal, kesalahan dalam transformasi meliputi penggunaan rumus atau prosedur tidak relevan dan tidak mengetahui prosedur yang digunakan, dan kesalahan dalam proses perhitungan meliputi kesalahan menggeneralisasi pola ke bentuk umum dan tidak menyelesaikan prosedur penyelesaian. Students’ error in solving junior high school Olympiad problem on algebra content AbstractThis research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to find out and to describe the students’ error in solving junior high school Olympiad on algebra content. Type of this research is case study. The subjects of the study were the students of class IX SMP Negeri 1 Palembang with 22 students. Data collection techniques in this research are written tests and interviews. Analysis of test and interview data follows Newman Error Analysis procedure. The results of the research show that the students’ error in solving junior high school problem on algebra content consist of errors in understanding the problem, error in transformation error includes the use of irrelevant formulas or procedures and do not know the procedures used, and errors in the calculation process include errors generalize patterns to the general form and did not complete the settlement procedure

Abstract

Translation of representations is a process of changing representations from one into another one. In generally, mathematics representations consists of symbolical, visual (graphical), verbal, and tabular representations. This article discusses results of research about teacher’s understanding of mathematics representations and its implementation, which is teacher’s ability of translating from symbolical representation to graphical representation and vice versa. The sample of research were 91 mathematics teacher from some districts of South Sumatera and Bangka Belitung provinces. The data of research were collected by test related to addition of integers. The results show that teacher’s ability of translating from symbolical representation into graphical representation is very low which is only 48,4% of the sample could translate the representations correctly, meanwhile teacher’s ability of translating from graphical representation into symbolical representation is quite good which is 75,8% of the sample could translate the representations correctly. The mistakes identified when the mathematics teachers translated symbolic representation to visual representation are the result of addition not presented in numbers line, no the result of addition presented at all,  the order of numbers line not presented clearly, misdirection or no direction of numbers line, and no answers at all. Meanwhile the mistakes identified when the mathematics teachers translated visual representation to symbolic representation are no the result of addition presented, incorrectly order of numbers added, and no answers at all.

Abstract

Mathematics can be represented by many forms such as symbolical, verbal, graphical, or tabular representations. To understand mathematics concepts is by connecting or translating all kind of mathematics representations. Therefore, mathematics teachers should facilitate students to translation all kind of mathematics representations. This article discusses the research results which investigated how mathematics teachers implement their teaching which facilitate students to translation mathematics representations. Data were collected by questionnaire, documentation, and observation. Sample of the research were 91 mathematics teachers of junior and senior high schools from some regions of South Sumatera and Bangka Belitung. The research results show that mathematics teachers have already implemented mathematics representation properly, however representations used by the teachers were not variably, which means translations between representations were not implemented yet. By comparing all mathematics representations, the symbolical representation was the most frequently used in teaching and learning. Mathematics teachers whom did not or poorly implemented mathematics representations in their teaching considered the national examination not requiring variation of the representations.

Abstract

Limit is a main topic of calculus studied especially by students of mathematics education. Despite the fact that limit has been introduced and taught to students at the level of senior high school, there are many student’s mistakes occured in student’s answers of limit questions. These findings came from results of survey of 73 students of mathematics education by giving them some questions of limit. Abstract

Kegiatan pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru-guru MGMP matematika SMP di Kota Palembang dalam penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Diharapkan nantinya guru-guru tersebut dapat menghasilkan penelitian yang berkualitas dan juga berkesinambungan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dalam bentuk kegiatan workshop pelatihan. Sebelumnya guru-guru diberikan bekal berupa materi mengenai penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), model-model dan metode yang dapat digunakan di dalam penelitian. Selanjutnya guru-guru diarahkan untuk membuat membuat proposal PTK untuk kemudian di implementasikan di sekolah guna pengambilan data penelitian. Setelah guru-guru mengimplementasikan di kelas yang mereka ajar diharapkan akan didiapatkan data yang untuk selanjutnya diarahkan untuk pembuatan artikel ilmiah dari penelitian tersebut. Untuk mencapai tujuan kegiatan yang telah ditetapkan, dalam kegiatan ini digunakan metode presentasi, diskusi, dan simulasi. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah terlaksananya pelatihan pengembangan profesi guru di MGMP Kota Palembang yang diikuti oleh 27 orang guru. Selain itu telah dihasilkan contoh proposal PTK yang dibuat oleh guru-guru tersebut sebagai hasil dari kegiatan pendampingan

Abstract

This development research aims to produce PISA-like mathematics problems with quantity content using a valid and practical COVID-19 context and to investigate the potential effect of these problems on mathematical literacy skills. This research employed a development research design with two stages: preliminary and formative evaluations. This study also employed the Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) system in the process of development and implementation. This study involved eighth-grade students aged 13-15 years at SMP Negeri 19 Palembang. The data were collected using walk-through, document, observation, interview, and test techniques. This study produced 6 units and 12 items of PISA-like mathematics problems with several content characteristics of the COVID-19 context, including working, personal, and social contexts and levels that agree with the 2018 PISA framework; and competence processes, such as mathematical literacy skills and standardized linguistic skills that can be applied and interpreted by students. To conclude, the developed PISA-like mathematics problems are valid and practical and potentially affect mathematical literacy skills and learning to confront life skills during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berakibat pada perubahan kegiatan pembelajaran diantaranya kebijakan pemerintah tentang Belajar dari Rumah. Pembelajaran daring yang terjadi secara tiba-tiba sangat berdampat pada hasil belajar, baik pada tingkat sekolah menengah sampai pada mahasiwa di peruruan tinggi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis seberapa besar pengaruh pembelajaran daring terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa tahun kedua Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia. Sampel yang diambil seluruh mahasiswa program studi pendidikan kimia tahun kedua sebanyak 33 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengisian angket dilakukan secara daring (google form) dan nilai hasil belajar komulatif semester genap tahun pertama berupa IPK. Uji keabsahan instrumen angket dengan validasi ahli, uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Berdasarkan tabel output diketahui Asymp. Sig (2-sided) pada uji Pearson Chi-Square adalah sebesar 0,745. Karena nilai Asymp. Sig (2-sided) 0,7450 > 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho diterima dan Ha ditolak. Dengan demikian dapat diartikan bahwa “ Tidak terdapat hubungan antara pembelajaran daring dengan hasil belajar Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Unsri”. Hal ini juga dapat diartikan bahwa pembelajaran daring tidak mempengaruhi hasil belajar mahasiswa atau Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Unsri.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran daring, hasil belajar, Era Pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (desain research) yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis bukti pada materi logaritma di kelas X SMA. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah LKPD, Angket, Observasi dan Wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 10 Palembang yang terdiri dari 39 orang siswa. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pengembangan LKPD berbasis pembuktian pada materi logaritma. Penelitian LKPD ini juga bersifat praktis, hal ini dapat disimpulkan melalui hasil one to one serta small grup, dimana siswa telah bisa mengerjakan LKPD tersebut. Hasil kepraktisan itu juga didukung dengan adanya wawancara serta observasi terhadap siswa dalam proses pengerjaan LKPD tersebut. LKPD dalam penelitian ini juga memiliki efek potensial terhadap persepsi siswa. Hal itu dapat di simpulkan melalui hasil analisis angket serta wawancara terhadap siswa dalam proses pengerjaan LKPD dan nilai hasil data angket yang menunjukkan hasil baik.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi guru-guru matematika SMP dan SMA di Kota Lubuklinggau dalam mendesain perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL). Kegiatan PkM ini ditujukan kepada khalayak sebanyak 30 orang guru matematika SMP dan SMA di Kota Lubuklinggau. Lokasi dan tempat kegiatan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan secara hybrid, tatap muka maupun melalui aplikasi zoom meeting conference dan grup Whatsapp. Model pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah model pendampingan dengan metode demonstrasi, pendampingan secara mandiri dan kelompok kepada peserta. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam 4 tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pendampingan, tahap follow up, dan tahap pelaporan. Hasil yang didapat melalui pendampingan ini yakni peserta dapat mendesain perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis Problem Based Learning yang meliputi Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Secara keseluruhan peserta memberikan respon yang sangat baik pada setiap pernyataan yang diberikan dengan rata-rata skor 3,77 dan persentase 84,38%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat respons dan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan strategi probing prompting dalam pembelajaran matematika materi relasi dan fungsi di SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII.3 di SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa respons siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika materi relasi dan fungsi tergolong Baik dengan rata-rata 71,19. Siswa telah mampu memberikan tanggapan dan menjawab dengan baik setiap pertanyaan yang dikemukakan oleh guru. Hasil belajar siswa tergolong Baik dengan rata-rata 71,92. Siswa sudah bisa menjawab soal dengan level C1 dan C2, walaupun masih mengalami kesulitan pada saat menyelesaikan soal dengan level C4.
