Abstract

Education is a place for someone to dig up information through the knowledge learned in schools or educational units. Schools are also a place for students to develop their talents and abilities. One of the skills that can be honed at school is the ability to be creative. Creativity or creativity is one of the highest levels of thinking. Creative attitude is the thinking ability of students to create something. One way that educators can do is to develop learning models that can improve creative thinking skills. The Project Base Learning learning model is one of the breakthroughs that can be used by educators and schools to increase the creativity of their students in addition to the lack of facilities and infrastructure and the limited ability of teachers at SD N Sokowaten. This learning model can also be used as a forum for schools to help students prepare for the era of technological development and the 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study diagnoses persistent misconceptions about magnetism among elementary school students and proposes an evidence-based remediation framework. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected from 29 fifth-grade students through a 16-item multiple-choice diagnostic test developed by the researchers and integrated with a six-point Certainty of Response Index (CRI) scale. The instrument assessed six indicators of magnetism: the definition and properties of magnets, magnetic poles, magnetic and non-magnetic objects, the magnetic field, methods of magnetization, and the utilization of magnets. The results showed that misconceptions were most prominent in abstract concepts, particularly the magnetic field (33.32% of students), and in procedural-to-conceptual transfer areas such as methods of magnetization (29.88% of students). These percentages represent students providing incorrect answers with high confidence, indicating robust misconceptions. The root causes stemmed from intuitive preconceptions and instructional practices that emphasize procedural activities without sufficient conceptual explanation or visualization. To address these issues, the study proposes an integrated pedagogical model combining the Conceptual Change Model (CCM) with interactive digital simulations (e.g., PhET). This dual approach aims to create cognitive conflict, make abstract magnetic phenomena visible, and support the restructuring of students’ mental models toward scientifically accurate conceptions of magnetism.

Abstract

This study aimed to design and develop a comic-based learning medium integrating edutainment and problem-solving approaches for teaching magnet concepts to fifth-grade elementary school students. The development process employed the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants consisted of 28 Grade 5 students at SD Negeri Sindurjan, five students involved in limited trials, and three expert validators (material, media, and instructional experts). Validation results showed that the developed comic achieved a highly valid category, with average scores exceeding 85 percent. Practicality testing through teacher and student responses also indicated very high practicality, with percentages above 90 percent, demonstrating that the comic is engaging, easy to use, and suitable for elementary learners. Effectiveness was evaluated through pretest and posttest comparisons, which revealed a substantial improvement in students’ understanding of magnet concepts, with high N-Gain values. The findings indicate that the developed comic effectively supports conceptual understanding, promotes active learning, and enhances students’ thinking skills. Therefore, the edutainment- and problem-solving-based comic is appropriate to be used as an innovative and interactive learning medium aligned with 21st-century learning principles

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' difficulties in solving mathematical word problems based on Polya's problem-solving steps in the topic of arithmetic operations on whole numbers for fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Mranti. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects consist of 23 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri 1 Mranti in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques include written tests, interviews, documentation, and field notes. The collected data encompass difficulties in understanding the problem, difficulties in devising a plan, difficulties in carrying out the plan, and difficulties in reviewing the solution. Data analysis is conducted using triangulation techniques to obtain research results, which are then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of observations and interviews indicate that students at SDN 1 Mranti face difficulties in understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution. Students struggle to identify key information and comprehend the context of word problems. In the planning stage, they have difficulty determining appropriate problem-solving strategies. The causes of these difficulties include a lack of basic conceptual understanding, low reading ability, and insufficient practice with word problems. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers implement Polya’s problem-solving strategies in a structured manner, increase practice with word problems, and provide support for students experiencing difficulties.

Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF ECOPEDAGOGICAL LEARNING IN This study aims to determine the implementation of ecopedagogical learning and the environmental awareness character of students conducted at SD N 2 Krandegan, Puring District, Kebumen Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive-analytic study. The subjects of the study are fifth-grade teachers and fifth-grade students at SD N 2 Krandegan. The data collection technique used interviews with fifth-grade teachers and fifth-grade students and conducted observations of fifth-grade students accompanied by documentation. Data analysis used inductive analysis. The research results show that (1) the planning of ecopedagogical learning is carried out by preparing lesson plans that include ecopedagogical learning objectives. The implementation stage is carried out through learning by directly observing environmental conditions, so the learning process is conditioned to provide meaningful learning experiences. The evaluation stage is conducted to measure affective understanding and assess changes in attitudes and behaviors by participating in direct learning in the environment. The challenges faced include students being unruly during outdoor learning, and teachers not fully understanding the concept of ecopedagogy. (2) The environmentally caring character of the students includes maintaining school cleanliness, disposing of waste, washing hands, and conserving energy. Thus, ecopedagogical learning can serve as an alternative reference for other schools in developing an environmentally caring character. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengembangkan produk berupa media ular tangga berbasis problem solving dan profil pelajar pancasila pada materi gaya kelas IV SD Negeri Sawunggaling, 2) Menguji kelayakan produk berupa media ular tangga berbasis problem solving dan profil pelajar pancasila pada materi gaya kelas IV SD Negeri Sawunggaling. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development), model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahap, diantaranya: Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes. Instrumen pengumpulan data terdiri dari lembar observasi, wawancara, penilaian produk, respon murid, dan lembar tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Hasil penelitian media menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Media ular tangga berbasis problem solving dan profil pelajar pancasila pada materi gaya dikembangkan dengan model ADDIE yaitu: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation, 2) Kelayakan media dari ahli materi 3,91 kriteria “Sangat Layak” dan ahli media 3,60 “Sangat Layak”. Kepraktisan media pada uji coba terbatas 3,85 dan uji coba luas 3,84 “Sangat Praktis”. Keefektifan melalui nilai pre-test dan post-test pada uji coba terbatas 0,92 dan uji coba luas 0,67 dengan kriteria “Sangat Efektif”. Berdasarkan data sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media ular tangga berbasis problem solving dan profil pelajar pancasila pada materi gaya kelas IV SD Negeri Sawunggaling layak digunakan sebagai media dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Determine the application of the GI method in science. 2) Determine the increase in student engagement in science. 3) Determine the improvement in student learning outcomes in science. This study used a classroom action research (CAR) approach, implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, using the Group Investigation method. The study subjects were 20 students, consisting of 10 boys and 10 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that: 1) The implementation of the GI method was carried out through six stages: grouping, planning, investigation, organizing, presenting, and evaluation. 2) The increase in student engagement was evident from observations: 36% in the pre-cycle, increasing to 58% in the first meeting of cycle I and 65% in the second meeting of cycle I, reaching 78% in the first meeting of cycle II and 93% in the second meeting of cycle II. The category of student activity developed from “less active” to “quite active”, to “very active”. 3) Student learning outcomes also experienced a significant increase. With an average score of 69 in the pre-cycle, 74 in cycle I, and 88 in cycle II. The percentage of classical completion in cycle II reached 95%, exceeding the learning objective achievement criteria (KKTP). Thus, the application of the Group Investigation method has proven effective in increasing student activity and learning outcomes in the subject of science.

Abstract

The lack of understanding on how to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and the suboptimal critical thinking skills of students due to curriculum transition are the background of this research. This research aims to analyze the implementation of PBL in shaping the profile of Pancasila students with critical thinking elements. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a sample of 15 fourth-grade students and 1 class teacher selected through purposive sampling technique. The results show that the implementation of PBL is in accordance with the PBL syntax and can improve students' critical thinking skills, with good mastery in expressing opinions (73.33%), but 66.7% of students still require guidance in identifying assumptions and biases. The main conclusion of this research is that the implementation of PBL is effective in shaping the profile of Pancasila students with critical thinking elements. The implications of this research include theoretical and practical aspects, as well as opening up opportunities for further studies on the effectiveness of PBL.

Abstract

Literasi merupakan hal penting yang mempengaruhi siswa pada pembelajaran jenjang selanjutnya, sehingga diperlukan kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui perbandingan nilai pretest dan posttest untuk melihat pengaruh kegiatan 15 menit pintar terhadap kemampuan literasi siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian Pre-experimental melalui tipe penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Munggangsari dengan jumlah populasi 10 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes AKM (Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum) yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan kegiatan 15 menit pintar. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskritif, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji paired sample t-test untuk mengetahui perbedaan niai pretest dan posttest. Analisis deskriptif untuk melihat hasil rata-rata nilai pretest dan posttest. Uji normalitas dipakai untuk melihat apakah data yang digunakan terdistribusi normal atau tidak normal. Uji homogenitas dipakai untuk mengetahui sama atau tidaknya varian populasi. Uji paired sample t-tes dipakai untuk melihat apakah kegiatan 15 menit pintar memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan litrasi siswa. Kemampuan literasi siswa meningkat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata tes, rata-rata nilai pretest 44.50 sedangkan rata-rata nilai posttest 52.00. Hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai Sig.(2-tailed) 0,038 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan literasi siswa sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan 15 menit pintar. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan 15 menit pintar berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan literasi siswa kelas V SDN Munggangsari.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) tema kearifan Kuda Lumping kelas IV sekolah dasar di Purworejo. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data meliputi kepala sekolah, tim fasilitator, guru kelas IV, dan sampel siswa. Data dianalisis melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain P5 sekolah dasar di Purworejo mencakup tiga tahapan utama: (1) Perencanaan: Kepala sekolah membentuk tim fasilitator, mengidentifikasi kesiapan sekolah, menentukan dimensi dan tema, mengalokasikan waktu dalam blok mingguan, serta menyusun modul projek; (2) Pelaksanaan: Mempelajari sejarah dan makna, Diskusi dan kreasi, Kunjungan ke sanggar seni, membuat properti:, dan Pentas seni dan pementasan; (3) Evaluasi: Dilakukan melalui pelaporan hasil berupa rapor projek siswa serta evaluasi kegiatan melalui refleksi dan diskusi dua arah antara guru dan siswa. Dalam aksi nyata P5, orang tua siswa di sekolah dasar negeri di Purworejo berperan aktif dengan menyediakan sumber daya berupa alat dan bahan projek, mendampingi siswa di rumah, serta berpartisipasi aktif dalam pertemuan sekolah. Dapat disimpulkan implementasi P5 tema kearifan lokal Kuda Lumping kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Purworejo dilaksanakan secara sistematis, mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal, serta melibatkan partisipasi aktif orang tua dan seniman lokal.
