Abstract

The achievement’s competence of physic’s from the student is still slow. Some of the causes are limited implementation of the scientific approach in learning. Limited ability to think from student’s in answering questions that are creative, and limited learning resource that apply aspects of the scientific method. This study aims to produce LKS oriented scientific method’s are valid and practical to improve the achievement’s of student competence in physic lesson’s. The knowledge obtained by student’s in the form of scientific knowledge as obtained throught the steps of scientific methods.The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the development model of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluation) which is reduce into the develop stage.  The reasearch subjects consisted of three lectures of FMIPA UNP as a validator. Three teachers of physic and one student class X MIA 5 SMA 16 Padang as a practitioner.The LKS validation test result that is 81,05% are on very valid criteria. The result of practice test result of LKS by teacher that is 88,33%  are on very practical criteria, while the result practice test by student that is 84,07% are on very practical criteria. The result of this study indicate that LKS oriented scientific method worthy of use in physic learning for SMA/MA in term’s of validity and practicality.

Abstract

Science Process Skills (SPS) are skills used in scientific inquiry that can facilitate students discovering facts, concepts, and can apply theories in everyday life. One of the supporting science process skills is the textbook. Textbooks are the main source of learning in the learning process. The use of textbooks in West Sumatra varies greatly. This study aims to determine the level of SPS offers in textbooks used in secondary schools in West Sumatra. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach with a population of all physics textbooks for Class XII semester 2 published in Indonesia and used in secondary schools in West Sumatra. The sample of this study were four Physics textbooks that were most widely used in secondary schools in West Sumatra and three of them were recommended by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The instrument used was validated by 3 experts. the first expert got a value of 0.98% categorized as very valid, the second expert obtained a value of 0.96 categorized very valid and the third expert got a value of 0.85 categorized as very valid. The validated instrument has 10 components and is defined on each indicator to be 37 instrument points. Data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation. The results were obtained that physics textbooks written by Muhammad Farchani Rosyid, and published by the Triumvirate in 2016, had the highest SPS bid level, whereas physics textbooks written by Marthen Kanginan and published by Erlangga in 2017 had the lowest SPS service level.

Abstract

Achieving the physics competence students in high school has not optimal. This case is caused by low students learning activities in the learning process, teachers rarely assosiate the material learned with the previous material so that students are less motivation to learned. For it used constructivism learning approach which are helped by virtual laboratory worksheet. The purpose of this reseach is to improve the physics competence achievement through the constructivism learning approach and virtual laboratory worksheet at grade XI of SMAN 15 Padang. This reseach used is a Quasi Experiment reseach with Factorial Design 2x2. The population this reseach was the students of grade XI MIA in SMAN 15 Padang which registered at he academic year of 2018/2019. The samples taken by using Purpose Sampling. The instruments are observation sheet for attitude competence, post-test for the knowledge competence, performance for skills competence. The data of attitude competence obtained were analyzed by using chart analysis and the data of the knowledge and skill competence were analysis by using two directions of variant. Based on the research conducted and data analysis. Fisrt, average attitude competence of the experiment class more than the control class. Second, knowledge and skill competence shows that the first working hypothesis is accepted while the second and third hypothesis is rejected. This shows that there are significant effect of applying the virtual laboratory worsheet in constructivism learning towards the students attitude, knowledge and skill of cmpetence at the 0,05 α.

Abstract

In learning the teacher still uses conventional models and methods so that students do not play an active role. This has a negative impact on student learning outcomes and has not achieved the objectives of the 2013 curriculum which requires students to play an active role in learning. Simple pictorial-based inquiry learning is expected to be able to train students to observe, ask, try, associate and communicate, with that the increase in the results of these students will increase. This type of research is pre-experimental designs. The form of the research design that will be used is the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of class X MIPA 6 of SMAN 13 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 Academic Year totaling 33 people. Sampling in this study using Cluster Random Sampling technique. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing to determine the influence of independent variables on aspects of knowledge competence. Based on data analysis that has been done in the experimental class, two research results can be presented. The results showed that the average value of knowledge in the post-test was 78.6 higher than the pre-test of 31.1. The results of the hypothesis obtained the results of the study have t count  > t table. with differences in the ability of students that were significant at a significant level of 0.05. This shows the use of pictorial riddle-based inquiry models assisted by phet simulation on simple material of momentum, impulses and harmonious vibrations on learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 13 Padang. Able to make a greater contribution to improving student learning outcomes

Abstract

             21st century requires students be able to learn independently, use higher-order thinking skills, find information and have good competence. For this demand the government has made improvements to the 2013 revised 2017 curriculum. The curriculum contains four points, namely strengthening of character education (PPK), 4C skills, Literacy and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The focus of the discussion is Higher Order Thinking Skills. HOTS consists of 4 indicators namely critical thinking, creative thinking, decision making and problem solving. Actually not all students can find information without guidance. The learning model fits the indicators mentioned is the guided inquiry. In applying the guided inquiry, it will be maximized if supported by Student Worksheets. Through Student Worksheet teachers and students will easier to carry out learning. HOTS-oriented Student Worksheets in the guided inquiry model have several advantages. First, it is not used for practical work only but can be used to guide activities during class learning. Because there are clear learning instructions for teachers and students. Second, it can improve students' HOTS abilities, because they are oriented with HOTS indicators. Third, it can improve students' ability to collect information independently because the model used is guided inquiry. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The R & D research method is a research method used to produce certain products. The validity and practicality values of the HOTS-oriented Student Worksheet in the guided inquiry model are 81,78% and 94,75%  according to the teacher and 85,92% according to the student.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the HOTS-oriented worksheets in the guided inquiry model on the material of impulse momentum and harmonic vibrations in class X SMA/MA. The study was Research and Development (R&D) by using Borg and Gall model, which consisted of potensial problems, data collection, product design, design validations, product trials, product revisions, trial usage, product revisions and mass products. However, this research was limited to the design revision. Validation is done using instruments which was filled by experts. The validation of this research was carried out by three physics lecturers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Padang State University. Based on the validation result by three validators, the validity obtained were 93.1 % in a very valid category. This means that HOTS-oriented worksheets in the guided inquiry model can be used in the physics learning process on impulse momentum and harmonic vibrations in class X SMA/MA.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental foundation for human life. In every educational development, there is always a change in the curriculum. The 2013 curriculum requires HOTS-based learning. In the 2013 curriculum, students must practice thinking skills at the HOTS level by giving HOTS questions. Because, the teacher must provide students with HOTS questions. The observations show that the questions used in Senior High Schools throughout West Pasaman District are still in the low category and do not meet the excellent proportion of questions. Therefore, an indicator analysis research was carried out on Physics questions for SMAN in West Pasaman District. This research includes descriptive research is includes in the qualitative approach. With population of this research is about Midterm Exam and Semester Exam Senior High Schools in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 in semesters 1 and 2 in West Pasaman District. The research data was taken using an analytical instrument of question presentation and data collection with proof of questions.  From the research has been done, it was found that the questions that have the highest availability of HOTS indicators for Semester Exam between 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 are in class XI and XII Semester Exam in 2018/2019 while in class X, namely in 2019/2020. As for the Midterm Exam in using the HOTS questions, the highest is Senior High School 1 Pasaman, and the lowest is Senior High School 1 Gunung Tuleh. Based on the research that has been done, it is found that these questions do not meet the availability of HOTS questions.

Abstract

The problem that underlies this research is the less optimal of practice implementation because of the limitations of tools and time implementation. Solution to help the implementation of the real practicum is to implement virtual laboratory. There have been several virtual laboratory related physics materials available on the internet such as phet. It's just not been able to be used by students because there is no worksheet that support the application for use on practicum activities. Therefor, the researcher develops student’s worksheet for virtual laboratory through ICT to support student practicum activity on dynamic fluid material, temperature and heat, and gas kinetic theory for XI grade. The research includes research and development (R & D) with 4D model. This study consists of 4 steps that are limited to the third step, namely define, design, and develop. The object of the research is student’s worksheet for virtual laboratory through ICT on dynamic fluid material, temperature and heat, and gas kinetic theory which tested to grade XI student of SMA Negeri 1 Padang. Based on data analysis that has been done can be presented two research results. First, student’s worksheet based on virtual laboratory is in valid category with validation value 77,14. Second, the practicality category of student’s worksheet based on virtual laboratory is very practical with practical value according to teacher 88,46 and practicality value according to student 86,40.

Abstract

Learning media in the form of instructional videos and PowerPoint are currently being developed. Previous researchers said that the two media were good for use in physics lessons, but between the two media it was not yet known which one was good for material on Newton's Law of Gravity, Work, and Energy. Based on the explanation above learning media is important so the researcher want to do a research which purpose to compare between the use of video and Powerpoint.This study aims to determine the differences on the student learning outcomes by applying the learning video and CTL-based PowerPoint on the Newton Gravity Law and Work Energy materials at Grade X SMA Adabiah 2 Padang. This type of research was a quasi-experimental research. The research design was the Random Posttest only Control-Group Design. The population of this research was the students Grade X. A purposive sampling technique was used to take the sample of this research. The sample of this research consisted of 2 classes. This research only focused on the aspects of cognitive and psychomotor. The assessment instruments were in the form of learning outcomes test sheets and observation sheets for the aspects of psychomotor. The data obtained were analyzed by using the t test. The results showed that the mean score of the students’ competence in the aspect of cognitive of the class which used CTL-based PowerPoint learning method was higher than the class using CTL-based learning videos by using the statistical t test. It was obtained  tcount= 2,1009 and ttable = 2,0032.  The mean score of the students’ competence in the aspect of psychomotor of the class of using PowerPoint was higher than the class using the learning video. Thus, it can be concluded that there are significant differences on the student learning outcomes using the learning video and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)-based PowerPoint of the science students Grade X of SMA Adabiah 2 Padang.

Abstract

This research aims to see how effect of HOTS-oriented worksheets on heat and kinetic theory of gases on students' critical and creative thinking ability with guided inquiry model in grade XI SMA Al-Istiqamah Pasaman Barat. The type of research used is quasi-experimental. In this research, two classes were used as the sample class, where class XI IPA 1 was the experimental class and class XI IPA 2 was the control class. The difference in treatment between the two classes is that in the experimental class the product given is HOTS-oriented worksheets while in the control class the product given is conventional student worksheets in schools. For the treatment equation in the two classes, the learning model used is the guided inquiry learning model. The technique for collecting data was a written test with HOTS oriented questions. Critical and creative thinking skills are the basis for assessment in this research. The results of the study after being given treatment in both classes found that the highest skill score between the two classes was the value obtained by the experimental class. Based on the research that has been done, it is concluded that after being given treatment to the sample class, there is an increase in students' critical and creative thinking skills for each indicator. The improvement of students' critical and creative thinking skills on each indicator got higher results in the experimental class than the control class.
