Abstract

This service was carried out as a form of concern for the Department of Arabic Literature, Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang (JSA FS UM) towards graduates. In this training, the gate will be equipped with knowledge and application of several innovative learning models in Arabic language learning. The learning models in question are Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), and Discovery Learning (DL) models. These learning models will be applied in Arabic language learning. The details of the application of the three models are contained in 7 materials presented by the speakers. After delivering the material, the activity organizers assisted the participants in practicing. This assistance is carried out online and offline. Service is provided in learning for five weeks. Every week, participants are given a tutorial on designing the application of Arabic language learning models, and participants create articles related to the application of innovative learning models in Arabic. Fifty participants attended this activity. As evaluation material, the activity implementer distributed a questionnaire via Google Forms after the action was carried out. The results of the questionnaire are as follows: The facilities provided by the facilitator. 90.9% of participants said it was perfect, and 9.1% said it was good. The questionnaire results are related to the resource person's mastery of the material. 75% of participants stated that the resource person mastered the material, and 22.7% noted that the resource person got the material. The questionnaire results related to the resource person's clarity in delivering the material. 72.7% of participants stated that the resource person clearly explained the material, and 25% said the speaker's explanation was clear. The questionnaire results are related to the usefulness of the material in learning innovation. 86.4% of participants stated that the activity resource was very useful in learning innovation, and 13.6% noted that the activity helped them learn creation.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan serta pendampingan keterampilan mengajar bahasa Arab abad 21 berbasis platform digital dan artificial intelligence untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang aktif, efektif, dan menyenangkan bagi siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dalam 5 fase, yaitu: (1) sosialisasi kegiatan kepada para pengajar bahasa Arab di Jawa Timur yang tergabung dalam asosiasi pengajar bahasa Arab (IMLA Daerah Jawa Timur) dari unsur guru madin, TPQ, pesantren, sekolah/madrasah, dan kampus serta Forum Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (F-MGMP) Bahasa Arab Jawa Timur; (2) pengkajian technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK); (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) antara Tim Pengabdian dengan Pengurus IMLA Daerah Jawa Timur dan Forum Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (F-MGMP) Bahasa Arab Jawa Timur untuk menggali lebih detail problematika pembelajaran bahasa Arab di madin, pesantren, TPQ dll.; (4) pelatihan dalam bentuk workshop untuk mengembangkan fundamental digital teaching skills; dan (5) pendampingan untuk memastikan penerapan strategi gamifikasi dalam pengajaran bahasa Arab berbasis platform digital berjalan dengan lancar dan sesuai harapan. Subyek pengabdian adalah para pengajar bahasa Arab dari unsur guru madin, TPQ, pesantren, sekolah/madrasah, dan kampus. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya upgrading skills dalam mengajar bahasa Arab yang inovatif, efektif, dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the barometers of someone's proficiency in learning a foreign language. Consequently, speaking skills are being widely developed in madrasahs. However, most students experience the highest language anxiety in speaking skills, as seen in the case of 10th grade students at MA Nurul Ulum. Recognizing this fact, researchers have proposed a new innovation in the learning process through the implementation of the Little Circle Arabic Learning (LCAL) in teaching speaking skills. This study aims to improve students’ skills in speaking Arabic. The research utilizes the classroom action research method according to the theories of Stephen Kemmis and MC Taggart, conducted in two cycles (8 meetings), with four steps in each cycle: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study are 22 students from the 10th grade at MA Nurul Ulum. The results show an improvment in speaking skills due to the average score of speaking skills evaluation by 10.5 in cycle I, from 75.4 (C) to 85.9 (B). Then, Then the researchers made improvement and repair in the cycle II until it became there was a further increase of 5.6 to 91.5 (A). Therefore, the LCAL model can enhance the Arabic speaking skills of 10th grade students at MA Nurul Ulum.

Abstract

Teaching Qur’anic Arabic is often overlooked in programs for Qur’an memorization, even though it is essential for students to memorize and comprehend the divine message in its original language. Teaching Qur’anic Arabic has faced challenges in the digital era in many pesantren. They have faced numerous problems in media usage and teaching methods, especially for teachers who are teaching students specializing in Qur’an memorization. This community service programs aim to provide Metacognitive Memorizing Model Training to strengthen understanding of Qur’anic Arabic for Qur’anic memorizers based on Chunking Digital Materials. This community service activity was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Tahfizul Qur’an Al-Mu’anawiyah, Sambisari, Ceweng, Diwek, Jombang. This service activity was carried out in 5 phases, namely: (1) socialization of activities to partners; (2) assessment of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK); (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) between the service team and the head of the foundation and pesantren administrators; (4) training in the application of the Metacognitive Memorizing Model to strengthen understanding of Qur’anic Arabic; and (5) mentoring. The results of this activity are that the community service team has developed Moodle-based e-learning for interactive Arabic language learning, written a book entitled ‘E-Learning Arabic Language Learning,’ and researched and published work related to Arabic Language Learning innovations. The level of technology readiness for the community service is at level 4, which is the application of the use, development, and application of technology in society. The result of this training activity is that the students of Al-Qur’an memorization have high enthusiasm for learning Arabic and can apply the Qur’anic Arabic Comprehension of Chunking Digital Materials method.[Pengajaran Bahasa Arab Qur’ani sering terabaikan dalam program-program hafalan Al-Qur’an, padahal hal ini sangat penting bagi siswa/santri tidak hanya untuk menghafal tetapi juga memahami pesan Ilahi dalam bahasa asli, yakni bahasa Arab. Pengajaran bahasa Arab Qur’ani menghadapi tantangan dan kendala di banyak pesantren. Mereka menghadapi berbagai masalah dalam penggunaan media dan metode pengajaran, terutama bagi para guru dalam mengajar siswa yang focus dalam menghafal Al-Qur’an. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan Pelatihan Metacognitive Memorizing Model untuk penguatan pemahaman Bahasa Arab Qur’ani bagi penghafal Al-Qur’an berbasis Chunking Digital Materials. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Tahfizul Qur'an Al-Mu'anawiyah, Sambisari, Ceweng, Diwek, Jombang. Tingkat Kesiapterapan Teknologi (TKT) pengabdian ini berada pada level 4, yaitu aplikasi penggunaan, pengembangan, dan penerapan teknologi di masyarakat. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of religious literacy as a strategy for mitigating sexual violence at the Darul Faqih Islamic boarding school. Sexual violence is a complex global issue with significant impacts on the physical, mental, and social health of victims. This phenomenon is also a serious concern in Indonesia, particularly in educational settings, including Islamic boarding schools. Involving 278 students from junior high school and senior high school levels, the program was implemented in two main phases: strengthening religious literacy through workshops that provided comprehensive understanding, and intensive mentoring and practical implementation, including counseling, developing policies for addressing sexual violence, and training practical skills for students and pesantren staff. The results of the program indicate that religious literacy integrated with a practical approach is effective in mitigating sexual violence within pesantren environments. This model not only enhances the individual capacities of students and educators but also contributes to institutional cultural change that supports a safe and gender-equitable educational environment. This initiative makes a significant contribution to the development of contextual and sustainable strategies for mitigating sexual violence in other Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the competence of nazhir in managing productive social waqf assets in Malang. The target audience includes 36 participants from 12 endowment assets around the campus of Malang State University and Wagir Subdistrict. The implementation methods include endowment asset management training, endowment jurisprudence socialization, and technical assistance using a multi-method approach, including interactive presentations, experiential learning, and on-site mentoring. Key findings indicate a significant improvement in nazhir understanding and skills regarding productive waqf development. However, a KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, Practice) survey revealed knowledge gaps in key aspects of waqf jurisprudence and its practical implementation. While attitudes toward modernizing waqf management are positive, challenges remain in implementing sustainable training and due diligence. Going forward, there is a need for intensive education programs on productive waqf, the development of a nazhir incentive system, and the optimization of performance monitoring. The establishment of a communication forum among nazhirs and multi-stakeholder collaboration in developing a comprehensive training curriculum are recommended to build a professional nazhir ecosystem, thereby optimizing the potential of waqf for the welfare of society.

Abstract

This article examines a training program focused on creating PowerPoint-based interactive media, aimed at Arabic language teachers who are alumni of the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) at Universitas Negeri Malang. The main goal of the training was to improve the professional and technological skills of teachers in creating engaging and interactive educational media. The training approach included theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and assessments of participants’ outputs. The findings reveal that participants successfully developed interactive media that were both informative and engaging for students. Additionally, feedback from participants indicated a boost in their confidence in integrating technology into their teaching practices. As a result, the training is anticipated to positively impact the professional development of Arabic language teachers and enhance the overall learning experience in schools. The study also highlights the need for continued training and ongoing support to ensure the effective use of interactive media in educational settings.

Abstract

Students of junior schools that have never studied Arabic language in elementary schools get more difficulties than the students that have studied it before. They are called novice students and must learn basic things of a new language such as mufradat because they must master, memorize, understand, and use it in order to have a good grip of mufradat, translate it, and able to use it in correct phrases and sentences. This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using mimicry memorization method for learning mufradat in Junior High School of Muhammadiyah and to investigate the extent which students improve memorization skills after using mimicry memorization method. The research was a quantitative method with a type of experimental research techniques. The data research was collected from observation, documentation, and oral tests techniques. The population of the study included 7th grade students of Junior High School Muhammadiyah 8 Batu and the samples were 7C students as experimental class and 7D students as control class. The results of research contributed that there was an increase 0.825 (large level) point in students’ memorizing ability after using mimicry memorization method. This method was effective to use for novice students in learning mufradat. A language teacher needs to consider this method for novice students. The study provides further support for the use mimicry memorization method for novice students in mastering new vocabularies.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is generally aimed on producing a cellphone-based digital learning quiz for Tathbiq Sharfi I course in Arabic Department, Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang. Specifically, this research aimed at describing (1) the characteristic of a cellphone-based digital learning quiz for Tathbiq Sharfi I course, (2) degree of properness of a cellphone-based digital learning game for Tathbiq Sharfi I course, (3) the model of using of a cellphone-based digital learning quiz for Tathbiq Sharfi I course. The development of this media is using Sadiman & Rahardjo’s development design. The data collection is done by observation and giving questionnaire. The softwares used on developing this media are adobe flash CS 3, action script 2, and flash player. Based on the scoring by the material expert, it is known that this digital learning quiz is highly valid. Meanwhile, based on the scoring done by the media expert, the result shows that this digital learning game is valid to use. On the small-group tryout, it is known that this digital learning game is highly valid, and the field test also shows that this digital learning game is highly valid to use. Therefore, this cellphone-based digital learning game for Tathbiq Sharfi I course is highly valid to be used.Keywords: Digital Quiz, Cellphone, Learning Tathbiq Sharf I

Abstract

The health world is no stranger to cases related to the adolescent reproductive system. The case is caused by a lack of knowledge about adolescents' reproductive system including the health of the reproductive organs. The purpose of this community service is to provide education as well as provide assistance to junior high school (junior high school) students to be wise in using social media and access platforms on social media as a means for reproductive health education for students. Partners in this service are students, teachers and principals of Muhammadiyah 1 Malang Junior High School. The method of implementing this community service consists of 1) analyzing the situation by conducting pre-service in the form of observation and initial interviews with service partners, namely the teacher council and several students related to the problems faced, 2) planning service activities that focus on education and mentoring, 3) implementation of community service and 4) Evaluation of service by conducting a reflection session on the achievements of the service team. The result of this community service is that the students of Muhammadiyah 1 Malang Junior High School get insights related to reproductive health so that they have readiness to face the dynamics of puberty.
