Abstract

This literature review journal presents a summary and synthesis of literature related to the formation of religious character in Early Childhood Education (ECE) through the habituation of religious activities. In exploring this topic, the literature review aims to identify patterns, trends, and findings emerging from previous studies, as well as to detail key aspects influencing the effectiveness of habituating religious activities in ECE. The literature review was conducted by scrutinizing academic databases, scholarly journals, and other reliable literature sources. The results of this literature review highlight several key themes related to the formation of religious character in ECE. Firstly, the literature confirms that habituating religious activities in ECE has a positive impact on the development of children's religious character. Activities such as daily prayers, learning religious stories, and participating in religious ceremonies help children comprehend moral and spiritual values more deeply. Secondly, the role of teachers and parents in supporting the formation of children's religious character in ECE takes center stage in the literature. Their active involvement in providing guidance, emotional support, and creating a supportive environment is crucial in achieving optimal outcomes. Furthermore, the literature also sheds light on challenges and obstacles that may be encountered in implementing habituation of religious activities in ECE. Some studies note differences in beliefs among parents, teachers, and ECE staff, as well as logistical constraints and a lack of resources as factors that can impact the effectiveness of the program. Overall, this literature review provides a comprehensive understanding of the concept of forming religious character through the habituation of religious activities in ECE. The implications of these literature findings can guide education practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to enhance the design and implementation of religious programs in ECE. With the existence of this literature review journal, it is expected that its contribution will complement academic understanding and provide guidance for further research in the context of forming the religious character of young children through the habituation of religious activities in ECE environments.

Abstract

The development of existing technology and information makes everyone never escape from the grasp of gadgets. The use of gadgets has permeated various walks of life, including elementary school children. The benefits of using gadgets in elementary school children due to the ease of accessing information, entertainment, games, interactive learning and as a reinforcement of technological skills are part of the children's experience in the digital era. The use of gadgets from year to year is increasing, causing changes in user behavior, including children. This behavior change is a deep concern because it affects the growth of emotional intelligence, empathy, and interpersonal relationships of children towards the formation of social attitudes in elementary school. This imbalance raises challenges as well as positive opportunities as a learning approach that supports the development of emotional intelligence and social attitudes for elementary school children in the digital age. A deep understanding of challenges and opportunities is expected to guide a balanced pedagogical and policy approach in harnessing the positive potential of gadgets to support the holistic growth of primary school children in the digital age.

Abstract

Violence in the elementary school environment is a serious problem that can affect children's physical, mental and emotional development. This research aims to describe the role of teachers in preventing and handling violence in elementary schools. This research method involves a literature survey and content analysis to present a comprehensive picture of teachers' duties and responsibilities in creating a safe learning environment. The research results show that teachers have a key role in preventing violence through implementing character education programs, forming positive behavior, and developing students' social skills. In addition, teachers are responsible for detecting signs of violence, both physical and verbal, and reporting them to the authorities. In handling violence, teachers act as mediators and facilitators in resolving conflicts between students. They must also provide emotional support to victims and perpetrators, while working with school staff, parents, and other relevant parties to provide appropriate corrective action. Teachers' active involvement in training and self-development related to classroom management, effective communication, and understanding the needs and uniqueness of each student is very important. Teachers' awareness of the impact of violence on children's development and their readiness to deal with situations involving violence are important aspects in creating a safe and supportive learning environment. This research concludes that the teacher's role is not only limited to delivering lesson material, but also involves social and emotional responsibility in creating a positive and violence-free learning environment for children in elementary schools.

Abstract

Early childhood is a child who has just been born until the age of 6 years. Early age is a very crucial age for the formation of a child's character and personality. Children's character formation should be done from the golden age. Where at that age children can think and judge the things they see or hear. As time goes by, children spend more and more of their free time playing with gadgets, so interaction with friends or people around them decreases. Children tend to have negative characters, become closed individuals, like to be alone, and have violent behavior. Facing this problem, educators and parents should look for ways so that children can always grow and develop into children with good personalities, through various methods. One of the methods used is inserting a moral message through storytelling. The storytelling method using audio-visuals is interesting for children and can increase children's interest in listening to stories. Parents or educators can tell stories of characters with good character. Good character formation can be done by emulating their idol characters through the audiovisuals they see. It is hoped that children will be motivated and imitate the characters in the story. It is hoped that the audio-visual storytelling method can be used to build character at an early age.
