Abstract

This study aims to analyze previously published studies so as to obtain a summary of the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in learning biology. This research is an experimental research with a meta-analysis technique. This meta-analysis technique is carried out in several steps, namely (1) determining the research topic, (2) determining the period of the article to be used, (3) searching for scientific articles that will support the research, (4) reading, determining, and analyzing the article to be used, (5) analyze, process, and conclude the data obtained. The research method used in this research is a survey of scientific research articles and other scientific publications. The effect of studies that have applied the problem-based learning model is analyzed using meta-analysis techniques. The findings of this study reveal that the problem-based learning model has an effect on students' critical thinking skills in learning biology. This can be seen from the results of a meta-analysis study with an average effect size of 0.52 on the moderate criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on student learning outcomes. This research method is a meta-analysis by examining data sources originating from national or international journals published in the last seven years (2014-2021). This research begins with formulating the topic to be studied, then formulating the problem and research objectives, at the next stage collecting relevant articles to collect data. The data was obtained from online journal searches through Google Scholar. The keywords used are "Teams Games Tournament learning model" and "learning outcomes". From the search results there are 20 articles. Data were obtained and reanalyzed using quantitative methods. Based on the results of the analysis of the Teams Games Tournament learning model, it is proven to be able to improve student learning outcomes with significant results after being given treatment, which is 69.93% compared to the results before being given treatment, which is 55.75% so that it increases by 14.18%.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan E-module interaktif tentang materi sistem sirkulasi untuk peserta didik kelas XI SMA yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua orang dosen Biologi FMIPA UNP, satu orang guru biologi, dan 22 orang peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Batusangkar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-module yang dikembangkan memiliki rata-rata nilai 93,02% dengan kriteria sangat valid oleh validator. Ditinjau dari aspek praktikalitas, E-module yang dikembangkan dikategorikan sangat praktis oleh guru dengan nilai rata-rata 94,64%, sedangkan berdasarkan penilaian peserta didik terhadap uji praktikalitas E-module diperoleh nilai rata-rata 92,74% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkam telah dihasilkan E-module Interaktif Tentang Materi Sistem Sirkulasi untuk Peserta Didik Kelas XI SMA yang sangat valid dan sangat praktis.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan, membuat keputusan dan mengevaluasi suatu informasi yang relevan sehingga mendapatkan kesimpulan yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Berpikir kritis dapat dikembangkan melalui proses pembelajaran. Keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat diukur menggunakan instrument penilaian berupa soal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validasi isi Soal Tes Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Kelas XII SMA tentang Materi Bioteknologi. Validasi isi pada soal tes berpikir kritis terdiri atas aspek konten ilmu, aspek konstruk, dan aspek bahasa.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif berdasarkan perhitungan Uji Gregory. Data validasi isi diperoleh dari dua ahli. Hasil validasi ahli dihitung menggunakan Uji Gregory didapatkan kesimpulan pada soal tes keterampilan berpikir kritis tentang materi bioteknologi adalah kategori validasi isi sangat tinggi dengan skor 0,92.

Abstract

Ethno-STEM research is the latest research in Indonesia. This is motivated by the socio-cultural diversity that is owned by Indonesia. This research is a systematic literature study that identifies ethno-STEM research trends in science learning (science, physics, chemistry, and biology) at each level of education. Based on the data obtained, the trend of Ethno-STEM research is dominated by development research (4D, ADDIE, Bolg and Gall, and R&D). the trend of research topics is more related to the development of Ethno-STEM-based teaching materials in science learning. The variables that are widely measured are the increase in creative thinking skills, learning outcomes, and scientific knowledge AbstrakPenelitian etno-STEM merupakan penelitian terbaru di Indonesia. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keragamaan sosial budaya yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi literatur sistematis yang mengidentifikasi tren penelitian etno-STEM dalam pembelajaran IPA  (sains, fisika, kimia dan biologi) pada setiap tingkat pendidikan. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, trend penelitian Etno-STEM didominasi oleh penelitian pengembangan (4D, ADDIE, Bolg and Gall dan R&D). trend topik penelitian lebih banyak terkait dengan pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis Etno-STEM dalam pembeljaran IPA. Variabel yang banyak diukur adalah peningkatan kemampuan berfikir kreatif, hasil belajar dan pengetahuan sains.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills can be developed through the learning process. Biotechnology material requires students' critical thinking skills in the learning process. SMAN 1 Payakumbuh has done critical thinking skills in the learning process but it is still not optimal, and data on critical thinking skills are still unknown. This study aims to analyse the level of Critical Thinking Skills of Class XII Students of SMAN 1 Payakumbuh about Biotechnology Materials. This type of research is descriptive research with simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a test of students' critical thinking skills, and a validity test questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the data obtained that the results of the critical thinking skills of class XII students of SMAN 1 Payakumbuh were analysed per indicator. The conclusion of this study is the level of critical thinking skills of each indicator of class XII students of SMAN 1 Payakumbuh at low qualification qualifications with an average of 50.59%.

Abstract

Biology is learning that can take advantage of the environment as a learning resource. Based on the results of observations and teacher interview questionnaires at SMAN 1 Lengayang that the teaching materials used by teachers and students utilize printed books and publisher's worksheets. The constraints in the teaching materials are that students find it difficult to understand the concept of plantae material, the presentation material provided is less conceptual to the student's environment, so that student learning outcomes are low. This type of research is development research using ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Evaluation) mode. The research subjects were two lecturers in the biology department, FMIPA UNP, one teacher and 36 students of class X SMAN 1 Lengayang. The object of this research is an integrated development booklet of Pesisir Selatan Regency on plantae material for class X SMA. Research data is the validity of data obtained directly through the provision of questionnaire validity to the validator. The results showed that the local potential integrated development booklet met the valid category with a validity value of 88.77%. So it can be said that an integrated development booklet of the local potential of Pesisir Selatan Regency has been produced on valid high school grade X plantae material.

Abstract

The low critical thinking skills of students in the human skeletal system material, due to Biology learning has not implemented learning models and teaching materials that facilitate students to practice critical thinking skills. This type of research is development research using 4-D models (four-D models), which is limited to the development stage. The research subjects were two Biology lecturers, FMIPA UNP, two Biology teachers, and 31 students of Class XI Science at SMAN 2 Lintau Buo. This study uses data analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics. The results showed that the LKPD based on the RANDAI model from the validity test was very valid with a value of 94.25%. While the readability test by the teacher was very well read with a value of 92.26% and read very well by students with a value of 92.69%. LKPD based on the RANDAI learning model has been produced on the Human Movement System for Class XI SMA/MA which is very valid and reads very well.

Abstract

This research aims to gain insights into the influence of the Project-based learning model on the enhancement of creative thinking skills among high school students in the subject of biology. The low creative thinking skills of high school students and the teacher-centered learning model, which typically involves lectures, have prompted the need for a more active learning process that involves students in the learning process. The Project-based learning model has been identified as a suitable approach for this purpose. To conduct the research, an expost facto method was employed, involving a review of relevant literature on the topic. The findings of the study indicate that the Project-based learning model has a positive impact on the creative thinking skills of high school students, as evidenced by an increase in the average scores of the students. This research adds to the body of knowledge on effective learning methods and has practical implications for educators seeking to enhance the creative thinking skills of their students. Further research could be conducted to explore the potential of the Project-based learning model in other subjects and at different educational levels. Additionally, it would be valuable to examine the long-term effects of the Project-based learning model on the creative thinking skills of students, as well as its potential to foster other desirable outcomes such as critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Biology learning is a field of science that requires students to think critically, creatively, and analytically in order to solve problems in each material they study. It is important for students to have the right strategies for learning, and teachers as professionals who teach students must be able to develop effective and efficient learning for students. According to various research, the implementation of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based learning has a significant impact on students' learning skills. STEM is a suitable alternative for 21st century learning. Through the interconnections of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, students can solve real-life problems in a systematic manner. The purpose of this article is to analyze the effect of implementing the STEM approach on biology learning. The method used in this article is a literature review method through a review of literature from various sources relevant to the discussion. The results obtained from this article are the influence of the implementation of the STEM approach on biology learning, namely, in improving students' learning outcomes, students' science literacy skills, students' critical thinking skills, students' creativity, and students' scientific thinking skills. Therefore, the application of STEM-based learning can be used as an alternative solution to empower 21st century skills of students, especially in biology learning.
