Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that student learning success is always a problem in every subject, especially sociology in class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Solok Selatan, so that teachers must have other learning models that encourage students to work collaboratively in achieving learning goals. The purpose of this study was to identify the constraints and solutions faced by teachers in applying the make a match type of cooperative learning model in sociology class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Solok Selatan. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, with a total of 6 informants which was carried out by means of purposive sampling. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data with data collection methods: observation, interviews and document study. Meanwhile, data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions.  The results showed that the teacher's constraints in applying the make a match type cooperative learning model in sociology class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Solok Selatan were difficulties in controlling the class, low student motivation, less effective time management and lack of workshops on learning models . As for the solutions made to overcome these obstacles, namely conditioning the class well so that the class atmosphere is not noisy, designing cooperative learning model activities of the make a match type, setting lesson time limits and attending workshops specifically for teachers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the project based learning model is not yet effective, student learning creativity is still low. One effort to overcome this problem is to apply the project based learning model in the sociology learning process. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of implementing project based learning in sociology learning as an effort to increase the creativity of Phase E 1 students at SMA N 1 Sutera. The theory used in this research is the behaviorist theory put forward by Gagne. The type of research used is quantitative because the data obtained is in the form of numbers. with Quasi-experimental research type. The population in this study were class X students of SMA N 1 Sutera with a sample size of 36 people. Sampling used purposive sampling technique. The instrument used for this research was an observation sheet. The data analysis technique in research is by using the T Test. Based on the results of research that has been carried out using the t test statistic, tcount = 21.13. Then t table with dk = n-k-1, dk = 36-1-1 = 34 at a significance level of 5% (0.05), then from the t distribution table the value of t table = 2.032 is obtained. So the result is 21.13 > 2.032 so that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The result of hypothesis testing is that Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the application of the project based learning model in sociology learning as an effort to increase creativity (case study of Phase E1 students at SMA N 1 Sutera).

Abstract

This study is motivated by the suboptimal use of learning media by teachers, which results in many students being distracted and not fully engaged in the learning process, leading to low learning outcomes in sociology subjects The theoretical framework of this study is based on cognitive theory, which emphasizes internal mental processes involved in understanding, remembering, and problem-solving. The main focus of this theory is on how individuals acquire, organize, store, and retrieve information.This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental type. The research design employed is the Posttest-Only Control Design. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and multiple-choice tests. The data were analyzed using the t-test.The results indicate that there is a significant influence of technology-based learning media (X) on learning outcomes (Y). The significance value obtained is 0.038, which is smaller than the threshold of 0.05 (0.038 < 0.05), thus rejecting the null hypothesis (Ho) and accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This implies that technology-based learning media has a significant effect on students' learning outcomes. The regression model shows that for every one-unit increase in variable X, variable Y is predicted to increase by 1.080 units, with a significant intercept value of 53.452. Overall, there is a significant positive linear relationship between technology-based learning media and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that in the world of education in the digital era, the use of technology and communication is very important to be applied in learning. The utilization of digital platform learning based on gamification is one effective way to support the learning process. Gamification is an approach that combines game elements into a game context. One form of platform used is Minecraft, Quizizz, and Kahoot. This effort is done as a way to increase student motivation and make it easier for teachers in the learning process to be more effective and efficient. Therefore, this study aims to determine the integration of digital platform learning based on gamification in sociology learning. This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive type. The theory used in this research is the constructivism theory by Jean Piaget. The informants in this study are teachers, students, deputies, and principals at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo. The sample of this study consisted of 11 people with certain criteria or sampling with purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and document studies. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, starting from data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing (verification). The results show that overall, the integration of digital platform learning based on gamification in sociology learning at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo has been running quite well. The Minecraft platform is used during the learning process, and the Quizizz and Kahoot platforms are used as evaluation tools. Efforts are needed to improve the process of implementing digital platform learning based on gamification in sociology learning at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo to make it even better.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning motivation among students at SMA Dar El Iman Islamic Boarding School Padang. The objectives of this research are to describe 1) the strategies employed by Sociology teachers to enhance students' learning motivation 2) the implementation of these strategies and 3) the obstacles faced by Sociology teachers in improving student motivation. The theoretical framework of this study is based on constructivist theory, and the research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and document studies, with a total of eight informants consisting of Sociology teachers, students, and the school principal. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman (1992: 20) technique, with individuals serving as the unit of analysis.The findings indicate that the teachers apply learning strategies and methods using Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry-Based Learning approaches, creating an active and enjoyable learning environment that prevents student boredom. Additionally, the use of learning media such as educational videos and game quizzes through the Quizizz website enhances student enthusiasm and motivation. However, challenges identified include the lack of digital learning tools like projectors and insufficient textbooks.

Abstract

The research results showed that the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model was successful in increasing student participation, self-confidence and responsibility. This model is effective in helping students work in teams, improve their study skills, and understand the material more deeply. However, some challenges were also found, such as low motivation and responsibility among some students, and difficulties in managing large class sizes. Overall, the Jigsaw learning model is proven to create a more enjoyable and effective learning environment.

Abstract

This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The theory used is behaviorism theory by B.F. Skinner. The informants for this research consisted of sociology subject teachers, students and environmental students with a total of 10 people who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and document study. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (verification). The results show that overall, students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Padang are able to use technology in learning Sociology. However, there are still obstacles in the form of interference from social media, so teacher direction and school policies are needed to ensure technology is used appropriately and productively to support the learning process.

Abstract

Budaya literasi merupakan keterampilan penting yang perlu dimiliki siswa di era informasi. Berdasarkan observasi di SMAN 1 Suliki, ditemukan bahwa budaya literasi siswa masih rendah, terlihat dari rendahnya minat membaca, lemahnya pemahaman membaca, dan rendahnya partisipasi diskusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi Reciprocal Teaching terhadap budaya literasi siswa pada mata pelajaran Sosiologi kelas X Fase E SMAN 1 Suliki. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori konstruktivisme Vygotsky. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen dan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposif: satu kelas eksperimen menggunakan Reciprocal Teaching dan satu kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner budaya literasi dan dokumentasi hasil belajar. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan Uji Sampel Independen menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol (sig. 0,00 0,05), dengan selisih skor rata-rata sebesar 41,54. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi Pengajaran Resiprokal secara signifikan meningkatkan budaya literasi siswa
