Abstract

The most common blood pressure disorders are high blood pressure and low blood pressure. One of the risk factors that is assumed to affect blood pressure is carbon monoxide exposure. This study aims to collect information about the association between carbon monoxide exposure and blood pressure disorders in adults and the elderly. Articles were collected through national journals database namely Portal Garuda and Google Scholar, and international journals through Pubmed, Scopus, and PROQUEST. The keyword combinations used are ‘karbon monoksida’, ‘tekanan darah’, ‘COHb’, ‘polusi udara’, ‘tekanan darah sistolik’, ‘tekanan darah diastolik’, ‘carbon monoxide’, ‘blood pressures’, ‘systolic blood pressure’, and ‘diastolic blood pressure’. The article search found out 20 articles eligible for inclusion criteria. The literature review shows the relationship between CO exposure and blood pressure. CO exposure can be at risk increased systolic blood pressure from 0.43 mmHg to 15 mmHg, as well as an increase in diastolic blood pressure from 0.39 mmHg to 9 mmHg. Acute or chronic carbon monoxide exposure has been shown to affect disorders on blood pressure characterized by an increase in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Abstract

The healthcare sector is one of the most important sources of mercury emissions worldwide due to its use in medical devices. Hg is found in thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and dental amalgams. Risk factors due to mercury can arise if medical devices containing mercury are damaged, broken, or spilled. The Government of Indonesia issued Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 41 of 2019 concerning the Elimination and Withdrawal of Mercury Medical Devices in Health Service Facilities. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the withdrawal program for mercury medical devices in Puskesmas in Sukmajaya District, namely Abadijaya Health Center, Baktijaya Health Center, Pondok Sukmajaya Health Center, and Sukmajaya Health Center. Research on the evaluation of the program for the elimination of mercury medical devices in the community health center of Sukmajaya District was conducted using a descriptive observational research design with a quantitative approach. The Mercury Medical Device Withdrawal Program at the Sukmajaya District Community Health Center has not been 100% successful. All puskesmas have stopped using mercury medical devices and switched to non-mercury medical devices, but the management carried out by the puskesmas has not met the requirements because there are still stocks of mercury medical devices that are not available. According to the standard, The withdrawal of mercury medical devices has also not been carried out by the Health Office, and the guidance and supervision of the program also does not run according to standards.

Abstract

Pneumonia is a contagious infectious lung disease that is generally widespread and causes inflammation, reducing oxygenation, shortness of breath, and death. In Indonesia, pneumonia is still a health problem. The prevalence of pneumonia in Sleman Regency is 2.47%. The study aimed to determine the association and the amount of risk between physical environmental factors such as temperature and humidity in children under five rooms and the occurrence of pneumonia in five-year-old infants. The research method was an observational analytical with a Cross-Sectional survey approach. The sample in this study amounted to 100 children under five with an age range of 0-59 months. Samples were taken using the simple random sampling technique. The variables studied in this study were temperature and humidity variables associated with children under five with pneumonia. The study results were known to be associated with temperature variables with pneumonia in children under five p 0.04 and PR (95%CI) 3.00 (1.11 - 8.07). The measurement results on 100 respondents did not have a child under five room whose humidity qualified. The average yield of humidity is 76.02%Rh. A significant relationship exists between the temperature in the children under five room and the incidence of pneumonia under five. Humidity in all toddler rooms does not meet health requirements, with an average humidity of 76.02%Rh. Opening ventilation should be done periodically so that air circulation occurs so that the temperature and humidity in the children under five rooms can meet health requirements.
