Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of company complexity, company risk, and audit opinion on audit delay in transportation and logistics companies from 2019 to 2024. Company complexity is measured by the number of subsidiaries, company risk is measured using the debt-to-equity ratio (DER), and audit opinion is measured using a dummy variable, where 1 represents an unqualified opinion (WTP) and 0 represents an opinion other than WTP (fair without research). The data used in this study were obtained from the official IDX website and company websites. This study used 15 transportation and logistics companies that had been eliminated according to the specified criteria. The sampling method used in this study was purposive sampling. The data analysis method used panel data regression using Eviews 13.0 software. The results of this study indicate that company complexity, company risk, and audit opinion simultaneously influence audit delay. Partially, the variables of company complexity and company risk influence audit delay. Meanwhile, the variable of audit opinion does not affect audit delay.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the meaning and role of Pancasila as the state ideology in the life of Indonesian society and nation through a literature review. This study was conducted using various documentary sources, including books on the philosophy of Pancasila, historical documents, and academic articles related to state ideology. The values contained in the five principles of Pancasila have proven to be the foundation for a harmonious, just, and civilized life, even amid ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. However, challenges such as globalization, modernization, and socio-political changes demand a stronger internalization of Pancasila values. This ensures that these values do not merely serve as symbols, but as concrete guidelines in shaping policies and citizen behavior. This study emphasizes that the process of understanding through examples, education, and public practices rooted in Pancasila values is a strategic step to strengthen national unity and the sovereignty of the Indonesian state.

Abstract

This research examines the utilization of Hadits in pembelajaran pesantren as the foundation for forming the Islamic character of students. Hadits serves as the main basis for kitab kuning such as Riyadhus Shalihin and Bulughul Maram, taught through memorization, talaqqi, and musyafahah methods that maintain the authenticity of scholarly chains, with the central role of the kiai as both a model and authority in transmission. The values of Hadits like humility (tawadhu), discipline, and brotherhood (ukhuwah) are internalized in worship ethics, education, social interactions, and the students' environment through the living practice of Hadits. Amid modernization, pesantren integrate Hadits studies with formal curricula, digital technology, and contemporary approaches to ensure relevance in the global era. This qualitative library-based approach affirms that pesantren are adaptive in preserving tradition while facing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

Semiotics is the study of signs and how meanings are constructed through denotation, connotation, and myth. The research aims to analyze the patriarchal ideology and women's resistance in “Women Talking” (2022) by Sarah Polley. The film depicts the tragic experiences of women in a closed religious’ colony who are victims of systematic sexual violence, as well as facing social pressures and religious doctrine that demands that they forgive the perpetrators. Using qualitative descriptive methods and Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, this study examines the meanings embedded in symbols, dialogues, and scenes that represent the collective consciousness, solidarity, and women's struggle against the patriarchal system. The data analysis consists of four stages: watching the film, identifying the dialogue or scenes into denotative, connotative, and myth, then analysing, and finally drawing a conclusion. As a result, there are ten dialogues and scenes that were analyzed using Barthes’ semiotics. In conclusion, this film showed how meaning operates on denotative, connotative, and mythical levels to expose and resist patriarchal ideology.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Intellectual Capital, Tax Planning, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) disclosure on firm value in the Consumer Non-Cyclicals sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2023 period. A quantitative approach is employed using panel data regression analysis. The independent variables include Intellectual Capital measured by the Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC™), Tax Planning measured by the Effective Tax Rate (ETR), and ERM Disclosure measured by a disclosure index. The dependent variable, firm value, is measured using the Tobin’s Q ratio. The study sample consists of 47 companies selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 235 firm-year observations over five years. The findings reveal that Intellectual Capital has a significant effect on firm value. Tax Planning does not have a significant impact, while ERM Disclosure has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence firm value. These results highlight the importance of managing intellectual assets and increasing risk disclosure transparency to boost investor confidence and support the enhancement of firm value in the market.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of short-form video platforms has expanded opportunities for informal English learning beyond traditional classroom settings. Among these platforms, TikTok has gained increasing scholarly attention due to its microlearning features and high levels of student engagement. However, empirical evidence linking TikTok engagement to self-directed vocabulary learning remains limited. This study investigates the relationship between EFL university students’ engagement with English TikTok videos and their self-directed vocabulary learning. Using a quantitative correlational design, the study involved 86 undergraduate EFL students from a state university in Palangka Raya, Indonesia. Data were collected through two validated instruments: the Self-Directed Vocabulary Learning Scale, measuring goal-setting, self-monitoring, and self-evaluation, and the TikTok Video Engagement Scale, assessing behavioural, affective, and cognitive engagement. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation analysis were employed. The findings revealed significant positive correlations between all dimensions of TikTok engagement and self-directed vocabulary learning (r = .445–.674, p <.001). Affective and cognitive engagement showed the strongest relationships with self-monitoring and self-evaluation. These results indicate that engagement with English-language TikTok videos is positively associated with learners’ autonomous vocabulary development. The study highlights the pedagogical potential of social media–based microlearning to support learner autonomy and vocabulary acquisition in the higher education EFL contexts.
