Abstract

Abstract. Analysis of Representative Speech Acts in Talk Show Mata Najwa in the Episode Why Do I Need to Go to College” Thesis of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Indonesian Language and Literature, Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Language and Literature, Makassar State University. (supervised by Usman and Sakaria). This study aims to describe the form and function of representative speech acts in the episode of Mata Najwa Talk Show “Why Do I Need to Go to College”. The research uses qualitative method with data in the form of words and sentences that contain representative speech acts. The data source is an episode of Talk Show Mata Najwa aired on YouTube. The data collection technique uses the method of listening, recording, and documentation. The results showed that there are forms of speech acts in the form of statements, notifications, suggestions, complaints, boasts, demands, and reports. The functions include stating, informing, suggesting, complaining, boasting, demanding, and reporting.Keyword: Pragmatics, Speech Acts, Representative Speech Acts

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of project-based learning model on the ability to write exposition text in class VIII SMPN 20 Bulukumba. This research is a type of quantitative research with pre-experimental design. The research design used in this study was one group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were 179 students of class VIII A SMP 20 Bulukumba. The sample in this study was 30 students. The data collection technique in this study was a test technique in the form of a writing task. The collected data were analysed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the project-based learning model had an effect on students' learning to write exposition texts. The project-based learning model can help students solve problems as well as provide opportunities for students to describe their creativity and help teachers to increase student learning motivation, think critically, and develop social skills, and achieve maximum exposition text writing ability.

Abstract

The Effect of the Moot Court Method on the Debate Learning Outcomes of Class X SMAN 5 Selayar. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of moot court on student debate learning outcomes. This type of research is a type of quantitative research. The method in this study the author uses the experimental method. The population of this research is all students of Class X SMAN 5 Selayar which consists of 67 students and is divided into 4 classes. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling technique. The class that was chosen as the sample was class X IPA with 18 students. The data collection technique used in this research is a test technique which includes pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The data analysis technique in this research is quantitative data analysis in the form of statistical analysis. The result of this research is that the moot court method has a significant effect on the debate learning outcomes of the tenth graders of SMAN 5 Selayar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the aspects of critical thinking contained in Indonesian language textbooks for Grade VII. This type of research is qualitative research. The focus of this research is the aspects of critical thinking, namely basic clarification, providing reasons for a decision, inferring, further clarification, conjecture and integration. The data source in this study is the Indonesian language textbook for class VII, first printing 2021 with a thickness of 220 pages. Data collection techniques are reading, quoting and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that the grade VII Indonesian textbooks included aspects of basic clarification, giving reasons for a decision, concluding, further clarification, conjecture and integration.

Abstract

The Effect of the Field Trip Method on Students' Poetry Text Writing Learning Outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of the field trip method on the learning outcomes of writing poetry texts for class VII students of SMPN 1 Turikale Maros. This research is an experiment with a sample of 32 students. Data collection techniques used by researchers in the form of tests in the form of pretests and posttests The collected data is then processed and analyzed using inferential statistical analysis and descriptive statistics. The research results show that the use of the field trip method has an effect on learning to write poetry texts. The field trip method can provide a stimulus for students to express ideas and ideas in writing poetry based on objects that are felt, seen, and heard.

Abstract

The Value of Character Education in Novels in Tanah Lada by ZiggyZezsyazeoviennazabrizkie. This study aims to describe (1) the values of character educationand (2) the form of conveying the values of character education in the novel Tanah Lada byZiggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that analyzesthe values of character education and the form of delivery of character education values in thenovel in Tanah Lada by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie. The results show that all the mainvalues of character education based on the Minister of Education and Culture Number 18 of2015 are contained in the novel in Tanah Lada by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie and theform of direct delivery of the value of character education in the novel in Tanah Lada usesmodalities (must, should) and claim clauses ( that means, it means) so that the moral messageto be conveyed can be directly identified. Meanwhile, to form this indirectly, you can enjoythe sentences contained in the novel.

Abstract

The Use of Cynicism and Sarcasm Satire Language Styles in the Karuwisi Market Environment Makassar City. This study aims to describe the use and function of sarcasm and sarcasm in the Karuwisi market environment of Makassar City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The focus of this research is sentences containing satire, cynicism and sarcasm in the Karuwisi market environment Makassar City. Data collection techniques were carried out by listening, recording, and note-taking techniques. The results of the study revealed that several forms of sarcasm and sarcasm were found in the Karuwisi market environment Makassar City. The satire of cynicism is divided into comparative forms, rhetorical question sentences and contradictions, while the style of sarcasm satire is divided into forms of swearing, accusations, criticism, and insults. Then the function of using cynical and sarcasm satire language style includes the function of convincing the listener, the function of condescending, the function of affirmation, the function of reprimand, and the function of conveying opinions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the application of image streaming method on the ability to write short stories of students in class IX SMP Negeri 13 Makassar. The type of research used in this study is pre-experiment. In this study, a pre experimental design model of one group pretest and postest design was used. The research sample was class IX A students totalling 30 students. The instrument used in this study was a short story writing ability test. The data collection techniques used by researchers were observation and short story writing tests on pretest and posttest. The research data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics which were analysed with the help of the SPSS version 29 application. The results showed that there was a significant effect in the use of image streaming method on the ability to write short stories of class IX students of SMP Negeri 13 Makassar. This is because the use of image streaming method is able to foster students' interest and creativity in writing short stories. The ability to write short stories of students before and after applying the image streaming method has increased significantly, namely the average student score before using the field trip method is 58.46 and after using the field trip method is 79.1.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Field Trip method on short story writing skills of grade IX students of MTs Hasan Yamani. The type of research used in this study is pre-experimental design. The sample taken was one class, namely class IX C MTs Hasan Yamani consisting of 24 students. The research instrument used in this study was a short story writing test. The data collection technique used was a test technique to obtain data on the effect of the Field Trip method on the short story writing skills of class IX students of MTs Hasan Yamani. The test of student learning outcomes is in the form of a test which includes a pretest and posttest. Data analysis in this study used two techniques, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the Field Trip method significantly affected the short story writing skills of ninth grade students of MTs Hasan Yamani. This is because the application of the Field Trip method is able to foster students' interest and creativity in writing short stories. Students' short story writing skills before and after applying the Field Trip method experienced a significant increase. This is evidenced from the average student score before using the Field Trip method in learning to write short stories, which is 71.13 and after using the Field Trip method which is 80.17.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan wujud berpikir kritis dalam Platform Merdeka Mengajar Kemdikbudristek, dan wujud berpikir kreatif dalam Platform Merdeka Mengajar Kemdikbudristek. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan. Fokus dalam penelitian ini yaitu, wujud berpikir kritis dan wujud berpikir kreatif yang terdapat dalam Platform Merdeka Mengajar Kemdikbudristek. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahap, yaitu: observasi, dokumentasi, serta baca dan catat. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti yang bertindak sebagai human intrument dan instrumen pembantu berupa kartu data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan wujud berpikir kritis berbentuk menginterpretasikan, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, menyimpulkan, menjelaskan, dan meregulasi diri. Adapun wujud berpikir kreatif berbentuk kelancaran, keluwesan, dan keterperincian.
