Abstract

The creative industry holds significant potential in providing economic opportunities, especially for children with special needs (CSN), who often face limitations in independently utilizing their skills after graduating from school. A community service program at SLB 1 Payakumbuh aims to empower CSN through training in creative skills, managerial reinforcement, and product marketing. Using a practice-based approach, this training includes crafting production, graphic design, and introducing digital marketing platforms. The results indicate an improvement in technical skills and self-confidence, enabling CSN to produce high-quality products with competitive market value. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly in accessing capital, equipment, and business network support. This program also seeks to connect CSN with local communities and business actors to foster collaborations that support the sustainability of their creative enterprises. Through entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and adequate facilities, CSN are expected to contribute independently to the creative economy while inspiring other communities to empower similar potential.

Abstract

Digital literacy is an essential skill in the digital era, especially for the younger generation who are starting to actively engage in entrepreneurship through online platforms. However, students' understanding of online ethics and legal frameworks such as the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) is still limited. This community service activity aims to improve the digital literacy of Dian Andalas Padang High School students, with a focus on online ethics in law-based digital business. The methods used include interactive lectures, group discussions, and case simulations to provide a deep and applicative understanding. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in students' understanding of digital literacy and the implementation of the ITE Law. Case discussions and simulations help students identify common violations of the law in online businesses, such as fraud and the spread of false information, and understand how to prevent them. The positive response from students and teachers emphasized the importance of this activity in equipping the younger generation with ethical and law-abiding digital skills, while encouraging schools to integrate law-based digital literacy into the curriculum.

Abstract

Indonesia is located at the convergence of the Eurasian, Pacific, and Indo-Australian tectonic plates, making it prone to significant earthquakes, such as the Aceh earthquake and tsunami in 2004 with a magnitude of 9.1, and the Padang earthquake in 2009 with a magnitude of 7.6, both known for their severe impacts. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 10,843 earthquakes in 2022. Given this high level of risk, all buildings, especially offices, must be designed to be earthquake-resistant due to high activity and user numbers. The city of Padang is categorized in Seismic Design Category D, indicating a high level of earthquake risk. The construction of a ten-story reinforced concrete building for office use is planned, referring to SNI 1726-2019 on earthquake resistance and SNI 1727-2020 on minimum loads, along with the Special Moment Resisting Frame System (SMRF). Structural analysis and modeling are conducted using ETABS software, with element dimensions based on the initial design. This analysis aims to ensure the building meets earthquake resistance requirements through response spectrum evaluation, including natural periods, inter-story drift, P-Delta effects, and checks for irregularities. Based on internal forces from ETABS V.18, reinforcement designs are prepared for structural elements such as columns, beams, slabs, and shear walls. A design capacity evaluation ensures the safety and optimal performance of the structure during an earthquake.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of human relations, work ethic, and organizational culture on job satisfaction and employee performance at PT. XYZ. The research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. The population consists of 98 employees, and the entire population is used as the sample due to the small size, employing a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis is conducted using SmartPLS 4.0 (Partial Least Squares) to examine structural models and relationships between the variables. The results show that human relations, work ethic, and organizational culture significantly affect job satisfaction. Job satisfaction, in turn, has a significant impact on employee performance and can mediate the effect of human relations and organizational culture on performance. However, work ethic does not significantly affect employee performance, and human relations do not mediate this relationship. The findings suggest that improving human relations, work ethic, and organizational culture can enhance job satisfaction, which in turn boosts employee performance. This study provides valuable insights for policy development at PT. XYZ to improve employee engagement and productivity

Abstract

This study examines the role of inclusive graphic design in enhancing the acceptance and utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies among children with disabilities. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 97 respondents within the Adisa business group, employing a structured questionnaire to measure graphic design quality, AI acceptance, and utilization. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to analyze the relationships between these variables. The findings reveal that graphic design significantly influences both the acceptance and utilization of AI technology, with user acceptance mediating this relationship. These results highlight the importance of user-centered and inclusive design in reducing barriers to AI adoption and ensuring equitable access for marginalized populations. By extending the Technology Acceptance Model to include inclusivity as a critical factor, this study contributes to the theoretical understanding of technology adoption while providing actionable insights for developers, businesses, and policymakers. The implications underscore the need for culturally sensitive and cost-effective design practices to foster widespread adoption and utilization of AI technologies. Future research is encouraged to explore the intersection of design, functionality, and socio-economic factors to further advance inclusive technological innovation.

Abstract

This study explores the role of mindfulness-based compensation and work-life boundary management in reducing quiet quitting through psychological well-being among retail employees in Padang, Indonesia. A total of 109 respondents from small and large retail businesses participated using a stratified random sampling technique. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings reveal that both mindfulness-based compensation and work-life boundary significantly affect psychological well-being and reduce quiet quitting. However, psychological well-being does not significantly influence quiet quitting and does not mediate the relationship between the two independent variables and quiet quitting. These results suggest that while organizational efforts may improve psychological well-being, they do not necessarily reduce employee disengagement. Retail companies should incorporate mindfulness elements into compensation policies and establish clear work-life boundaries to support employee engagement. Additionally, the findings point to the need for further research on other influential factors, such as job satisfaction and organizational culture, which may directly impact quiet quitting. Future studies are encouraged to examine alternative mediators to better understand disengagement and to develop more effective human resource strategies for the retail sector.
