Data collection techniques with interviews and documentation methods. Data processing was carried out using the SPSS version 26 program using the Cobb-Douglas production function. The results showed that all stages of agricultural activity started from seeding, tillage, support poles, planting, fertilizing, pruning, watering, pest control, harvesting, and post-harvesting. Based on the analysis using the Cobb-Douglas production function, the following results are obtained: : Y = 7.683 X1–0,060 X20,304 X3– 0,011X40,355X50,208. The results of the simultaneous F test showed that the independent variable had an effect on the yield of red flesh dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) of 24.261. Partial test (t) shows that organic fertilizer, labor and the number of plants significantly affect the yield of dragon fruit with red meat (Hylocereus polyrhizus). Meanwhile, area and pesticide variables had no significant effect on the yield of red meat dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus). The Adjusted R2 value is 0.847. showed that 84.70% of red meat dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) production could be explained by area variables, organic fertilizers, pesticides, labor and number of plants. While the remaining 15.30%, this ratio is explained by other factors that are not included in the regression model.

Abstract

Corn marketing channels help farmers to convey persuasive messages to consumers to buy corn. Marketing channels help estimate the amount of demand for corn, making it easier for farmers to prepare corn orders. This research aims to determine the corn marketing channels in the research area, the magnitude of corn marketing costs in the research area, the share margin of corn marketing channels in the research area, and the efficiency of corn marketing in the research area. The research location was purposively selected in Anaengge Village, Kodi Sub-district, Southwest Sumba District. This village was chosen because it is one of the areas that produces corn in Southwest Sumba District. The research took place from June to August 2023. The results of the research show that the marketing channels in the research area consist of two channels. The first marketing channel goes from farmers to collecting traders and then to the factory. The second marketing channel goes from farmers to small agent traders, then to collecting traders (large agents), and finally to the factory. The marketing cost in Channel I is Rp. 176, which includes transportation, labor, ropes, and drying costs for the collecting trader (large agent). In Channel II, the marketing cost is Rp. 249, which includes transportation, drying, labor, and ropes. The share margin obtained in Channel I is 90.9% with a marketing cost of Rp. 5,176/kg. The share margin obtained in Channel II is 83.33% with a marketing cost of Rp. 5,219/kg. The efficiency value of Channel I is 3.21%, falling into the category of 0-33%, which means that Channel I is an efficient marketing channel. Abstract

Corn and cattle are the main commodities in dry land farming in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), with corn as a food source and cattle as a source of income. This province has vast dry land potential, namely 1,734,488 H, but its utilization is still less than optimal. The Cattle Harvest Corn Planting Program (TJPS) was launched to increase corn production, cattle population and farmer welfare. This research analyzes the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in Manusak Village, Kupang Regency, and the factors that influence it, as well as examining government policies in supporting the efficiency of the corn-cattle farming system. Qualitative methods through interviews, observations and text analysis are used to understand farmers' experiences in farming. The results show that the NTP in the Gacinda and Leselik farmer groups is different: Gacinda has a higher NTP than Leselik, which is caused by differences in corn production costs and yields. In conclusion, corn productivity and costs incurred affect farmer welfare, with high expenditures potentially reducing NTP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of feeding fodder obtained from diversified dry land farming on daily weight gain, chest girth, shoulder height, and body length of male fattening Bali cattle. This study used a double Latin square design (LSD) with 4 treatments, namely T0 = local feed of farmers in Timor (farmer model). T1 = Diversified farm feed (T1 + mulato grass), T2 = T1 + legume Clitoria tarnatea, T3 = T2 + horticulture by-product using 4 periods as replicates. The livestock observed were eight male Bali cattle aged eight months to one year and weighed 97-121 kg (average 108.5 kg). The results showed that the feeding fodder obtained from the diversified farming had a significant effect (P<0.05) on daily body weight gain but not significant (P>0.05) on the linear body size measurements (chest girth, shoulder height, and body length). Considering the economical and convenient features, T2 feed treatment provided a greater contribution of 21.74% compared to control.

The pre-test results found that most (62.7%) of family mothers did not understand well healthy snacks (snacks) regarding the type, quantity, and correct method of processing food. However, after confirmation from the results of counseling and food processing simulations, it is known that 100% of family mothers already understand and can choose types of food, prepare simple but nutritious menus with processing methods that are friendly to the availability of sufficient and appropriate nutritional content that is needed and can ensure that the amount of food consumed is according to the needs per day per age per gender of family members.
