Abstract

Skin wrinkles are caused by the cleavage of collagen fibers by the major collagenase enzyme matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1). Peptide-based matrix metalloproteinase-1 inhibitors present a potential new therapeutic strategy to prevent MMP-1-mediated collagenolysis, which is induced by UV-induced MMP-1 overexpression. This in silico study investigated the MMP-1 inhibitory capacity of carefully selected and well-designed hexapeptides. A molecular docking method was employed to screen 14 hexapeptides. The target ligands were observed to interact non-covalently. The LYYYGP peptide sequence was found to form three hydrogen bonds (H-bonds) with amino acid (AA) residues in the catalytic domain of MMP-1. Additionally, hydrophobic interactions between these peptides and the protein were observed at certain sites. The maximum binding affinity was observed for the LYYYGP sequence (binding free energy, ?G = -9.00 kcal/mol). These sequences exhibited binding energies comparable to those of the LSYYGP sequence (-8.48 kcal/mol) and YSGYYP sequence (-8.27 kcal/mol). The YSGYGY sequence demonstrated a lower binding affinity for the target receptor, with ?G = -5.59 kcal/mol. This study indicates that specific peptide sequence components are crucial for forming hydrogen bonds that link proteins to peptides. Further investigation, encompassing chemical synthesis and laboratory experimentation, is requisite to substantiate the efficacy of the two hexapeptides.

Abstract

Siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda mempunyai permasalahan ialah pasif saat kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung dan hasil belajar yang rendah pada saat tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran yang cenderung berfokus dalam kegiatan pelajar. Kemudian, untuk penggunaan model pembelajaran yang dipakai oleh pengajar disekolah itu ialah model rolling play, discovery learning, praktikum, ceramah dan diskusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan dalam menelaah pengaruh model pembelajaran tipe nested, mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri, serta pengaruh kombinasi model tipe nested dan inkuiri atas hasil pembelajaran siswa kelas X pada mata pelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda. Jenis penelitian yang dipakai oleh peneliti yakni quasi-experimental design yang juga melalui pretest-posttest control group design, sampel penelitian diambil melalui teknik purposive sampling. Hasil analisis data pada ANACOVA menunjukkan memiliki taraf signifikansi (p) (Sig.) sejumlah 0,000 0,05. Sehingga, mampu ditari kesimpulan bahwasanya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran nested, inkuiri, serta pengaruh kombinasi model pembelajaran tipe nested dan inkuiri atas hasil pembelajaran siswa kelas X di mata pelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda.

Abstract

Students in grade VII at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda have uneven metacognitive skills. This can be seen based on the inability of students to assess themselves in the teaching and learning process. The following study aims to determine “the effect of the reading, questioning and answering learning model on the metacognitive skills of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda students” on biodiversity material. The following study applies a quantitative approach through aquasi-experiment method that applies 2 classes, with a research design of Nonequivalent control group. The sample collection was carried out through purposive sampling method, namely VII A as the experimental class and VII B as the control class. Data collection techniques and instruments are carried out through the application of tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses the Independent Sample t-test test through a significance level of 0.05. The results of the test data analysistcount < ttable (0.132 < 1.683), the results of the 10 question test data analysis tcount < ttable (1.163 < 1.683) and the results of the questionnaire data analysistcount < ttable (1.543 < 1.683). So it can be concluded that there is no “effect of the reading, questioning and answering learning model on the metacognitive abilities of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda students on biodiversity material.

Abstract

Limbah cair industri tahu mengandung padatan tersuspensi atau lauratan yang mengalami perubahan fisik, kimia, dan biologi, serta akan menghasilkan zat beracun bahkan bisa membuat media pertumbuhyan untuk kuman. dan dapat menyebabkan gatal, diare, sampai mual apabila dimanfaatkan oleh manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan mikrobact dan Efective Microorganisme-4 (EM4) terhadap kualitas kadar BOD, amoniak dan pH pada limbah cair industri tahu. Jenis penelitain yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen laboratorium. Pengumpulan data didapat dari hasil pemeriksaan BOD, pH, serta amoniak limbah cair tahu yang diberi perlakuan dengan penambahan EM-4 dan microbact 100, 200 ml dengan limbah sebanyak 1 liter. dengan lama fermentasi yang berbeda - beda yaitu lama fermentasi 7, 14, 21 hari. Penelitian dilakukan selama 4 bulan, bulan Januari-April 2023. Yang dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kualitas Air, Fakultas Perikanan dan kelautan, Universitas Mulawarman. : Konsentrasi larutan yang paling optimal guna menurunkan kadar BOD pada limbah cair tahu adalah P2 (200 ml Larutan effective Microorganisme-4), Konsentrasi larutan yang paling optimal guna menurunkan kadar amoniak pada limbha cair tahu adalah P4 (200 ml Microbat), Konsentrasi optimal parameter pH di perlakuan 2 dengan penggunaan larutan effective Microorganisme-4 (EM4) sebanyak 200 ml. Penambahan larutan effective Microorganisme-4 (EM4) dan microbact terhadap kadar BOD, amoniak, dan pH pada limbah cair industri tahu berpengaruh, dapat dilihat dari adanya penerunan nilai kadar limbah masing masing parameter.

Abstract

Fenol dalam urine merupakan biotransformasi dari benzena yang masuk ke dalam tubuh. Benzena adalah bahan kimia berbahaya dan beracun (B3) yang terdapat di dalam bahan bakar minyak yang berpotensi masuk ke dalam tubuh operator SPBU, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar fenol dalam urine Operator SPBU untuk menggambarkan tingkat paparan benzene di dalam tubuh. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan sampel sebanyak 30 subyek yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan pengambilan sampel urine. Pengukuran kadar fenol dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode High Pressure Liquid Crhomatography (HPLC). Hasil dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan rata-rata kadar fenol 12,30 ppm yang menunjukan hasil normal. Nilai fenol dalam urine normal jika <25 ppm. Hasil analisa kadar fenol menunjukan mayoritas reponden memiliki nilai normal. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh usia responden, masa kerja, kebiasaan penggunaan APD pada saat bekerja dan kebiasaan merokok. Penggunaan APD harus disesuaikan dengan SOP di tempat kerja untuk melindungi operator SPBU dari kecelakaan kerja terutama melindungi dari paparan benzena.

Abstract

This research investigates the correlation between STEAM-based Project-Based Learning (PJBL) enhanced by Augmented Reality and the development of 21st-century skills among students. The study employs a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing a one-shot case study design. The sample was obtained through a cluster random sampling method. Data were analyzed using percentage analysis techniques and Kendall's tau-b test at a 5% significance level. The results from Kendall's tau-b test demonstrated a significant correlation between STEAM-based PJBL supported by Augmented Reality and enhancing students' 21st-century skills, with a correlation coefficient of 0.798 and a significance level of 0.000. Furthermore, observational data indicated that the average achievement of 21st-century skills was 77%, which is considered good. The study concludes that STEAM-based PJBL supported by Augmented Reality is significantly linked to improving students' 21st-century skills and effectively fosters these skills. These findings imply that integrating STEAM-based PJBL with Augmented Reality technology such as Assemblr Edu can be an effective strategy for educators to enhance 21st-century skills in secondary education settings.

Abstract

Banana is a plant with nutritious fruit and can help prevent stunting. Banana plants are widely cultivated in East Kalimantan, but the type characterization has not been identified. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of banana plants in East Kalimantan and to characterize banana plants based on morphology. This research is explorative in nature by identifying directly in the field the cultivated banana cultivars. Morphological characterization of stems, leaves and fruit was carried out based on the banana description contained in IPGRI-INIBAP/CIRAD. The research instrument is a banana morphology observation sheet which contains parameters: leaf habit, pseudostem color, predominant underlying color of the pseudostem, sap color, blotches at the petiole base, blotches color, petiole canal leaf III, color of leaf upper surface, color of midrib dorsal surface, color of leaf lower surface, color of midrib ventral surface, wax on leaves. The result shows that at East Kalimantan is found 12 types of banana cultivars were found, Talas bananas, Rutai bananas, Kepok bananas, Mas bananas, Morosebo bananas, Tanduk bananas, Susu bananas, Maulin bananas, Red bananas, Ambon bananas, Raja bananas, and Cavendish bananas.There are variations in the morphological characteristics of banana plants, leaves and fruit that can characterize each banana.

Abstract

Studi Kualitatif Pengetahuan Asupan Mikronutrien dan Pola Konsumsi terhadap Status Gizi Siswa SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda ini dibimbing oleh Bapak Dr. H. Akhmad, M.Kes untuk mengetahui pengetahuan asupan mikronutrien dan pola makan pada status gizi. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan atas dasar kekhawatiran peneliti mengenai asupan makan remaja awal pada saat ini, terkhususnya siswa SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian kualitatif tak kenal jumlah sampel minimum. Biasanya penelitian kualitatif memakai jumlah sampel kecil. Jumlah informan penelitian kualitatif fleksibel menurut syarat kecukupan dan kesesuaian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument berupa angket kuesioner dengan jawaban naratif, pedoman wawancara dan peneliti sendiri. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini ialah analisis secara naratif akan ditampilkan dalam bentuk narasi dari hasil wawancara. Hasil analisa berdasarkan data yang didapatkan peneliti dilapangan ialah siswa SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda mengetahui asupan mikronutrien secara teori namun dalam pengaplikasiannya terhadap pola konsumsi setiap harinya masih sangat kurang, mereka memiliki pengetahuan namun tidak mengambil tindakan yang didasari oleh kebiasaan yang mereka lakukan sehari-hari peneliti dengan responden yang bersedia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini diawasi oleh Ibu Zenia Lutfi Kurniawati, S.Pd, M.Pd. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak pendekatan pembelajaran Argument Driven Inquiry terhadap keterampilan argumentasi dan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII di SMPN 11 Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode quasi-eksperimental, khususnya menerapkan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metodologi uji kesetaraan dengan kelompok eksperimen, yang disebut VII A, dan kelompok kontrol, yang disebut VII B. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah uji ANCOVA, dengan menggunakan ambang signifikansi 5%. Menurut temuan uji ANCOVA, signifikansi untuk keterampilan argumentasi adalah 0,000 (0,050) dan signifikansi untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah 0,001 (0,050), yang mengarah pada penolakan Ho dan penerimaan Ha. Gaya belajar Argument Driven Inquiry berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan argumentasi dan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII SMPN 11 Samarinda.

Abstract

The use of technology in education has encouraged innovation in teaching materials, one of which is the development of Indigenous Knowledge-based E-Modules to align knowledge with the surrounding culture and environment. This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of a Biology E-Module based on Indigenous Knowledge of the Dayak Kenyah Tribe on the subject of Biology Technology Innovation at SMA IT Granada Samarinda. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) which in this study was carried out up to the Develop stage. The research subjects included one Biology teacher, 23 students of class XA1 at SMA IT Granada Samarinda, and five Dayak Kenyah cultural informants in Pampang Cultural Village. Data collection instruments were in the form of interviews, questionnaires, and validation sheets which were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The validation results showed the feasibility of the E-Module from the material aspect of 91% and media 82%. Student responses in small group and large group trials reached 80.50% and 85.21%, respectively, which were categorized as very feasible. The findings indicate that integrating Indigenous Knowledge into E-Modules supports more contextual and engaging Biology learning. This study recommends further exploration of the potential of local knowledge as an innovative resource in the development of digital learning media.
