Abstract

This study examines the psychology of the main character in the novel Rumah Tanpa Cahaya by Regita-Lenn Liu. The research aims to identify the psychological conflict experienced by the main character, Natta, through Sigmund Freud's personality theory (id, ego, superego) that illustrates the mental turmoil caused by family dynamics. The methodology used is hermeneutic qualitative analysis, focusing on symbolic and textual interpretation. The results of the analysis show that Natta experiences internal conflict between desire (id), reality (ego), and moral values (superego), especially in her relationship with her younger brother, Alie, who is ostracised by his family. This conflict shapes Natta's decisions, showing that the id has an important role in the positive actions she takes, despite going against her social environment. This study reveals that psychological elements in novels can provide an in-depth understanding of the complexity of characters and their impact on the storyline. The implication is that psychological analysis of literature helps readers understand personality dynamics in fictional narratives and their relevance to real-life conflicts.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to explore the factors that impact individuals' willingness to pay Zakat on their employment income or professional Zakat based on the Extended Theory of Planned Behavior (ETPB). The research approach employed in this study was quantitative research based on primary data. To gather the necessary data, a survey of civil servants (PNS) was conducted in five departments of the Yogyakarta City government, namely the Health Department, Environmental Department, Tourism Department, Education Department, and Agriculture Department. 145 valid questionnaires were analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings of the research indicate that subjective norms, the credibility of Zakat Institutions, and information from Zakat management institutions positively impact the intention to pay Zakat. Nevertheless, the intention to pay Zakat was not positively influenced by attitude, perceived behavioral control, or understanding of the profession. This study's implications may assist regulators and policymakers in increasing public awareness of Zakat contributions. To achieve this, Zakat institutions could make efforts to improve dissemination, issue circulars, improve services, and promote transparency, particularly in the collection and distribution of Zakat funds

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This research aims to (a) investigate the impact of leadership types (specifically responsible and transformational leadership) on behavior related to knowledge sharing and (b) assess the influence of mediating factors of person-organization fit between leadership style and knowledge sharing behavior, and (c) examine how the culture of higher education institutions (HEIs) influences the development of leadership and organizational dynamics. Background Problems: In prior research, conflicting findings have emerged concerning the connection between leadership and knowledge sharing. It is essential, by looking at responsible and transformational types of leadership, to determine which type exerts the most substantial influence on knowledge-sharing behavior Novelty: This research extends previous research by utilizing two types of leadership, namely responsible leadership (RL) and transformational leadership (TL), in one research model. By doing this, we compare which of the two leadership models significantly influences knowledge-sharing behavior among lecturers. Research Methods: This research was conducted through an using convenience and snowball sampling methods and collected 256 lecturers as participants from diverse Indonesian universities. The data ware analyzed using partial least squares (PLS) with the support of WarpPLS 7.0. Finding/Results: This study discovered that responsible leadership, transformational leadership, and person-organization fit positively impact knowledge-sharing behavior. Moreover, the culture of higher education institutions moderates the relationship between responsible and transformational leadership and person-organization fit, however unfortunately, it fails to strengthen this relationship. Person-organization fit serves as a mediator in the relationship between transformational leadership and knowledge-sharing behavior. Additionally, it was observed that transformational leadership has a more significant impact than responsible leadership on knowledge-sharing behavior. Conclusion: This study has the potential to offer empirical evidence and bring cohesion to social exchange theories concerning the influence of leadership types on knowledge-sharing behavior

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the use of video tourism media on the ability to write descriptive texts of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 7 Cilacap. The method used was a quasi-experiment with two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The research instrument was in the form of a test to write descriptions given before (pretest) and after (posttest) treatment. The results of the prerequisite test showed that the data did not meet the assumptions of normality and homogeneity, so the analysis was continued with the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in both groups, but the improvement in the experimental group was more consistent and substantial, with an average score increase of almost three times that of the control group. A more detailed analysis showed that the use of video media not only improved numerical scores, but also improved the quality of students' writing, especially in terms of content, text structure, and vocabulary. In addition, the use of local content in videos has been proven to make learning more contextual, relevant, and motivate students to write in more detail and sequence. Overall, this study emphasizes that video tourism media is an effective, adaptive, and sustainable learning strategy in developing description writing skills, and has the potential to be applied to various types of texts and other levels of education.

Abstract

This study evaluates and verifies the cryptanalysis of Peyrin \textit{et al.} on the SIMON-JAMBU64/96 Authenticated Encryption (AE) scheme, with the aim of extending the attack to a reduced number of tuples. We adopt both formal analysis and experimental validation, constructing collision-based distinguishers under a chosen-IV model and testing them with a decryption oracle. The main contribution is the demonstration that a distinguishing attack can be performed with just two tuples, showing that JAMBU is more vulnerable than previously assumed. We provide a detailed comparison of data complexity, where the two-tuple attack achieves a lower cost in the second phase ($4 \cdot 2^{48}$ queries) than the three-tuple attack ($6 \cdot 2^{48}$), at the expense of extra verification effort in the third phase. Overall, our results confirm that the SIMON-JAMBU64/96 scheme is susceptible to distinguishing, plaintext forgery, and plaintext-recovery attacks, thereby reaffirming and extending the findings of Peyrin \textit{et al.} to scenarios with more limited adversarial resources.
