Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the common public health issues, especially in areas with poor sanitation and unhealthy lifestyles. Preventive efforts against diarrhea involve not only medical interventions but also the importance of education on PHBS (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior). This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of increasing knowledge about PHBS in preventing diarrhea. The research method used is experimental with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The subjects consist of two groups: the intervention group receiving PHBS education and the control group without education. Data collection was done through knowledge questionnaires before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge about PHBS in the intervention group after receiving education, compared to the control group. This indicates that PHBS education is effective in improving the knowledge and understanding of the community in preventing diarrhea. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the importance of PHBS education in preventing diarrhea in the community. Structured and comprehensive education programs can be an effective strategy to reduce the incidence of diarrhea and improve public health overall.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of nonverbal communication in interpersonal relationships, with a focus on gestures, postures, and proxemics (physical distance between individuals). Nonverbal communication, which includes body movements, body language, as well as the use of personal space, has a significant impact on the understanding and dynamics of relationships between individuals. The study uses observation and in-depth interview methods to identify patterns of nonverbal communication in daily interactions. The results showed that gestures, postures, and proxemics can affect the way people respond to and understand each other, thereby strengthening or weakening interpersonal relationships. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the importance of nonverbal elements in building effective and harmonious communication in various social contexts.

Abstract

The increasing volume and complexity of data present challenges in big data processing, particularly in manually identifying data patterns and relationships. In data mining, clustering methods such as the K-Means algorithm are widely used to group data based on similar characteristics. However, K-Means’ reliance on random initial centroid selection can yield suboptimal clustering results. This study aims to compare the evaluation results and iteration time of three optimization methods—Elbow, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Sum of Square Error (SSE)—on the K-Means algorithm. The dataset used is the Online Retail II dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. The Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) method is used as an evaluation tool to assess the validity of the formed clusters. Based on the analysis results, the Elbow and SSE optimization methods achieved a DBI score of 0.8500 with faster iteration times compared to PSO. Meanwhile, the PSO method provided the best DBI score of 0.7376, although it required significantly longer iteration time. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for selecting an appropriate optimization method for the K-Means algorithm based on time requirements and clustering evaluation outcomes.
